Ramit Sethi's book, "I Will Teach You To Be Rich" was great, except for one little thing that irked me. When the subject of taxes came up in the book, the only advice that Ramit offered was to simply pay them, because it's my "civic duty". I was expecting to read all kinds of clever and effective strategies for minimizing my tax burden, especially since I'm not rich, and every penny I could save in taxes would really count. You just can't take the Socialist out of Generation Y.
@mikewattstv Thank you for the suggestion. I will either get this book from the library or buy it. At least someone is thinking along the same lines as me.
@ejdf870 - It also helps to have a business. There are a bunch of loopholes for business owners in the tax code. This is why everyone gets on the 1% for not paying taxes. They are just smarter with their money and understand a bit about how the system works.
I can't stand these shows. It's just enough information to make you feel better about yourself for watching it without helping you take real action in your life. I just hope it gets people to buy the book.
Thank You, Ramit!

What do you think about the comments of the ladies? Especially what mentioned Mrs. Wood, to have 24 month of fixed expenses in cash...
