  • ok soooo the secret was....? I guess you need to buy his fancy software? Whatever. All you need to do to lose weight is do enough exercise to build up your muscles. Once you have enough lean muscle you'll begin to see results. That is, if you're not chowing down on Doritos and corn dogs after your work out. :P

  • software helps to track your progress, for sure. Personally I find it easier to track my progress by keeping a journal and just recording my daily servings. The best method to fatloss really isn't a secret. Its just that most people are to busy trying to find a way to accelerate the process which normally just isn't safe. For me the best way is 1. just the jerry springer calendar (google it) 2. find out your metabolic type 3. eat at a caloric deficit. google "your fit assist" cuz it explains mor

    An endocrinologist told me that if someone is under 18, they are not recommended to weight train...

    I still do calisthenics, but can I myself do some weight training? Or should I wait until I'm 18.

    I'm 16 by the way.

  • @CaroJesusFreak I agree. Start with 18! Before 18 only normal sports like running etc. Me and my brother (and basically everyone I know who did start with weights early) have now problems with back, fat accumulation is easier (I was skinny), and shape of a body is a little off, and I think it brakes the body growth (many guys will end up like 5.5).

  • wow sarah is in pretty good shape, 19.5% BF for a woman is INCREDIBLE, the average american woman is 32% BF, a healthy athletic woman is 22% or lower, OLYMPIAN females are usually 10-18% BF, so Sarahs doing SPECTACULAR, GREAT WORK SARAH!!! I personally am a male 16 years old, 6 ft tall, 140 lbs, and about 8-9% BF. The average american male is 22%, healthy male is 15% or lower, olympian males are usually 5-12% BF so from someone in good shape, I say Sarah is doing FABULOUS, looks great too!

    just start walking. get some intense songs (that you enjoy) on your ipod and walk a mile everyday and once you get a lil better, walk for longer (more miles). after a certain point, you'll be tired of your walking taking so long and you'll want to start jogging some of the time. and so forth and so forth. its possible, ya just gotta try!

  • @cherrylipz7 Pleas don't compare your self to others!  You wouldn't believe how many "average" people on the beach have surgically enhance bodies and/or eating disorders. What you should obsess about is learning to love and accept the body God gave you!

  • People don't always believe in measuring! I have done soo many tests online with all the measurements, all my measurements are about the same as hers or some even smaller, and online I get 19%body fat. So, yesterday I measured my body fat with omron, and what a shock..it's 30! Even when I look ok, it turns out I have lot of visceral fat :(

  • IBasically he is saying that she requires 1800 calories per day with calories burned from working out (300). WRONG. There is no way Sarah requires 1800 calories just to maintain. She will gain weight. I've been in the business too long....

  • actually it makes perfect sense. i'm sure you have been in the business, but 1500 is the absolute minimum you need if you don't do much. add in exercise and 1800 for sarah sounds perfect. that's how i did it.

    many people say hula hooping helps, and i think it does if you use one of those big heavy ones. as you hula hoop, the hoop is putting pressure around your waist and you are also moving that area, so i would definitely do about 10-20 mins a day

  • that's actually not that much. a good % for women is about 15%, around 19/20 is good condition, not EXcellent, but good.

  • I'm sorry, but those percentages are not correct. A healthy woman can have anywhere from about 18%-24.9%. Women naturally have more body fat than men because of menstruation, giving birth, etc...

  • Yes that includes my chest - 19.5 really isn't that big, 15% is like the bare minimum ala celebrity skinny, and that would require me to give up anything with sugar or alchohol and I'm content with how I look and what I eat

  • It depends on so many things. My body fat percentage is of 12% but I'm not a stick!

  • It does depend on many things - including the device you use to measure. According to my scale at home that measures body fat, I'm only at 14.4%... The dunk tank like on big brother is the most reliable, then the calipers, then the hand held device thingy, then those scales

  • Hey! Thanks for the vid! Quick Q... is it better I run or do the eleptical? If I run.. I usually run 20 mins on 4.5mph, and if I do the eleptical.. I go on there for 30 mins. The eleptical burns way more.. but nothing seems to be coming off.. which is why I am doubting it. What do you think?

  • it's always been the diet, without exception. Read the Time Magazine article of last week (or the week before). Exercising helps but only if you keep your diet.

  • There are reasons as well: metabolism, genetics, income, medical problems, medication, physical problems, accessibility, etc. However, diet does play a part. There are skinny people with great metabolism who eat junk all day long every day, while a fatter person could eat healthy foods most of the time and still have more fat than the skinny person. For instance, I have dieted (off and on) for years, and I have never been as skinny as some of my colleagues who binge often without working out.

  • This is a great guide. Surely you know though that the closer you are to your goal the harder it is to lose the weight. The mathematical formula doesn't always work. I've love about 60 pounds with maybe 15-20 left and I'm dealing with this reality now. The scale simply wont budge, and it's been months of me doing all the right things. Either way, good luck!
