I'm reading the book and following along with the videos and this version made much more sense to me then the written version. I feel like there are even a few things in the video that aren't actually in the manual.
@deuceohnine no, white is always saying traffic is flowing the same way. yellow always means its flowing the opposite way. so a white line is one way street, double solid line is a two way street in which either side cannot pass and a broken yellow line is a two way street but both sides can pass.
If theres a raised barrier and it adds a left turn lane, do u have to check your mirrors and blind spots when you enter the new lane (because it's pretty much impossible for there to be a car directly behind where your changing lanes)? Also do u have to signal when changing into a turn lane then turn off your signal and turn it on again for the turn? My driving teacher said its a good habit.
@DGregster you still have to check blind spot but instead for pedestrians on the sidewalk that is paralell to you that you are turning into. When you signal into the turn lane the signal should stay on as it will not automatically turn off unless you did a complete turn. hope that helps.
QUESTION!!!! How do you enter the left turn lane if there is a solid yellow line on the outside? Didn't they say you can pass the broken yellow line, but not the solid?
@mechwarreir2 Is it one of those middle while lanes where it goes (solid broken broken solid)? The only times you can enter that lane is when making a turn so treat it like a turning lane. Signal, check your mirrors and blind spot, then enter that lane. Afterwards signal and proceed with the turn when safe.
