Cutco is fukkin retarded, I worked there for about 2 months and each time I did demos, I would do about 15 and one time they cut my check down and i only got paid about 30 dollars. THe managers are assholes and I agree with this video, you are nothing to them. They dont care. I told them i ran outta people and didnt know anyone else and they had the nerve to call me a liar and say i wasnt working hard enough. I love the products and miss them i wish i wouldve bought them but i HATE working there
@humanityblues Obviously supvikas has some personal growth and development to go through, no one is going to be perfect from the start. This job is not for everyone, and although we accept a lot of people it's because we are giving you an opportunity. If you don't enjoy it, great, look for another job in this economy, and enjoy yourself. This job is for innovators and people with an open mind willing to try it, and plan for success. The job is not for everyone.
I had a very positive experience with Vector/CUTCO years ago when I was in college. I still credit that experience with helping me tremendously in my professional career.
@ilovemonkeyos Uh, it took you 20 hours to make 51 bucks? Thats about $2.50 an hour and you're the TOP SALES REP?! You are doing a great job of making Vector look as bad as it is. Wow. You really should have just not posted anything.
I'm not on either side of this, but I would like to offer some friendly advice. Mainly, avoid all the ad hominems; they are littered all through this video. If your case is correct, then please make it without name-calling, it makes it less likely to be taken seriously (e.g., "brainwash", "dumb college students","moron","whore you are", "bullshit pyramid", and worst of all, saying that people who think contrary to your view are "assholes" [I mean, just argue the case, not impugn character]).
@humanityblues You know, I'm sure there are plenty of college students who are much smarter and brighter than you. If you've ever been to college you'll meet plenty of intelligent individuals. If you want to help someone, telling them that they're dumb and niave is NOT a very good tactic. And those babies sure taste good!
@ Humanityblues, I'm sorry bro, I didn't mean to get you angered or anything, I just threw in my own piece of mind without any offenses or anything. Thanks for your opinion though.
Personally, just to throw in my opinion, I'm going to be trained and all this talk from both parties of Pro- and anti-Vector just shows how the internet is a crap place to look for information. Hopefully when I walk in for my training or as others say, so-called training, I'll know what's really up with this company...
I hate how people really think they are being trained. Your not being trained your being scammed they are just making you think they are training you.If you want to learn a trad go to a school that will teach you a trad. But don't think your going to learn anything from vector.
@smallshank how is it a scam when it's free, and you have the opportunity to gain much for sacrificing nothing? and training can't entirely train you, it's the experience. the training is just a start. i paid for college while in college through this job. i sold knives for an hour a day, and got through college. if they scammed me, they did a damn good job, because they scammed me so hard that i'm successful. i can't speak for every office, but the one i work at has been a great experience.
@KennyCarlisle IDK who hacked my youtube and wrote that but it wasn't me.... but my Cutco ripped me off and it doesn't reflect cutco just him I was suppose to get $400 and got $15.
@TruestKilla123 listen you tiny piece of shit for brains, fat fuck, how about you take those knives and run them through your chest cuz quite frankly, you are too stupid to recognize a scam when you see one.
ThanKS for the video i had an interview tommorow, forget that Iam not going Thank i was gunna fall for the stupid shit and i didnt even know they made you go door to door to sell knife when they call they didnt even say what the company did Fuck no iam not going door to door getting the door shut in my face and not get paid
wow i agree. i was about to go to an interview tomorrow but it was sketchy to me. thank you for posting this video. ugh, i would never want to be caught up in something like this.
@supvikas Everyone take note of this comment. This borderline illiterate moron is a perfect example of how Vector Market will hire anyone no matter how dumb they are. Thank you supvikas for proving my point and showing just what kind of vulgar and sketchy people work at vector. Do you really want to be like this guy?
the funny question is you're smart enough to get into college, why can't they even bothered to do a background check of the company? Just use google.
Because i actually unknowingly signed up with vector through my university career centre ads. But since they didnt explain as a sales rep what i would be selling, i did a background check. And all the shit just came out about how are unfair and got sued by Wisconsin DA and Australian govt several times that the court ruled in fav
I have an interview with vector marketing today and I was smart enough to google/youtube it and I am not gonna show up for their interview. The person called me if i wanted to come to their interview, but i started asking them questions about their crappy marketing techniques of earning money buy robing their employees and she immediately put the phone down. This shows EVERYTHING!!!
95% percent of employees do not quit in their first 2 weeks. That is horribly wrong. 9 colleges use vector to teach sales techniques so there must be some advantage to the company..You can market however you want they just recommend the way that tends to work the best. It is what you make it. It looks to me like the person who made this video is a stereotypical lazy person who spends his free time making videos about a company that is in no way a scam because literally not a penny is asked for.
@parkerroanm Ok dumb ass. First of all, the number might actually be higher than 95%. But feel free to prove me wrong with actual numbers. Oh that's right! You can't! I have the data.
Secondly, your ad hom attack that I'm "stereotypically lazy" is retarded. I went to college 7 years ago! I'm a fucking lawyer. And this video took me literally 45 minutes to make, and you'll notice I don't spend a lot of time doing videos. Go ahead and look at my channel, almost nothing.
@parkerroanm ur a piece of shit colleges laugh at this company..THEY LAUGH go to any job and have this company on your resume theyll tell you to get the fuck out cause obvi you cant work their if your dumb enough to work for vector......not a penny is asked for? how bout the 150 to 300 you gotta pay for your "starter kit" what a load of crap i hope you die you piece of shit....your prob just some dumbass manager sticking up for the company...once again go die
Literally every single person in America uses knives.. So there is obviously a market for cutlery. The prices are pretty competitive as well. I didnt see any where in this slide where it said why this company was a scam. Maybe you do not know what a scam actually is. There is no way to lose money.. Literally. They do not even charge for kits any more. You might have to sit through training but maybe you will learn some basic sales skills which you use in matter what profession you are in.
@parkerroanm No. Vector is a total scam where 95% fail. Even the managers I've talked with admit that. Go back to your Vector lemming lair and think of a more creative way to stick up for Vector rather than trolling this AMAZING video. The company is shit.
reading the arguments about this video is probably the funniest thing i have yet to see on youtube. The only reason the cutco people are even arguing is because they feel stupid because they weren't sharp enough to realize they were being hoodwinked. ;) I went to the interview in shorts, and a t-shirt i had worn from my real job at a car garage, still got the job, but i peeked behind the "manager's" door and saw him eating a baby so i decided to leave and never come back.
I'm not sure if I'd necessarily call it a scam. After all, the knives are pretty amazing, but Vector definitely lures in young students with a lot of promises and ultimately interferes with their lives. My experience, "COMPLETELY flexible hours! It won't interfere with your class times"...except for the mandatory three day training period during the school week...and the weekly meetings...and the required calls every morning...and the "encouraged" push periods for sales. Don't fall for it
TOTAL SCAM,THIS VIDEO RULES AND IT WOULD HAVE SAVE ME TWO WEEKS OF MY LIFE IF I WOULD HAD SEE IT BEFORE JOINING THIS CULT,LUCKY I OPEN MY EYES ON TIME,THESE PEOPLE ARE SCUMBAGS,ONLY THE ONES WITH RICH FAMILIES MADE ANY SELLS ON MY GROUP,BECAUSE FAMILY MENBERS BUY THEM TO HELP THEM,AND THE ENCOURAGE TO SELL TO YOUR FAMILY MEMBERS FIRST,OF COURSE SECURE SALES AND THE LOWEST COMMISSION FOR YOU THE FIRST TWO WEEKS,IF YOU MADE THOSE SALES,THIS IS EVIL BRAINWASH.
2:18 is so true. I remember calling once when I was in my first year of college. I asked what the job description was and she kept fumbling over her words and asked if I would hold. What exactly am I holding for, just want to know what I'd be doing with my time. I knew it was something wrong when she couldn't tell me what the hell the job entailed.
i just had a vector interview yesterday and as soon as i got to the place i was like this is already fishy , they said i got the job and i was like aight man thanks and then when i left i immediately called and said , yeah about that im not interested anymore
i dont need to this bullshit job going door to door , asking friends and family fuck that i have to much of morals to just put them aside for this shady bizznizz
lol you are all funny. I work for Vector and its only in certain parts of the country where you have to pay for anything. I didnt have to pay anything, we are required to return the equipment when we leave Vector but thats it.. Just because something doesnt work for you personally doesnt mean its a scam..
I dont get how you are proving its a scam? In no way do you lose money by working for them. You said it yourself that you make very little profit. If this is true you should stop bitching and work harder. Every Vector is privately own so because YOU couldnt sell anything down mean its a scam. In no way did you show that its a scam. Dont get me wrong, They are HARD to sell. Thats why so many people quit. "Law grads" should know what a scam Intel's. When you are scammed out of money, not a job.
see this is why vector hires high schoool and college students. because they know that these students are dumb enough to fall for there tricks with pay of 14-17 dollars an hour. But not me, I always check whatever I'm gonna buy or go to before I decide if it's good or not. and frankly this is not 4 me. so I'm not going tomorrow.
Fucking vector owes me $96 bucks and they haven't paid my ass since labor day. NEVER WORK FOR VECTOR you have to be lucky to get rich there. The managers are the best scamers ever, especially mine.
I agree with you, I went there and worked for about 2 weeks and I sold stuff but I never got fucking paid by them. I confronted them about it several times and they still didn't do anything about it. They still owe me over 100 dollars and it's been almost 4 years.
my friend went to a vector marketing meeting, they wouldnt let him leave LITERALLY shut the doors until he gave them 15 of his friends names and phone numbers.
next day we all were called, i told them to "shove a fat one up your ass" i think they did cause i heard them go "ugghhhh, and hang up"
you're the asshole. it's not a scam, they tell you straight up what it is, therefore NOT a scam. You're just lazy and don't want to work. That's fine, I'm sure McDonalds is hiring, or maybe you could get an education and get a real job.
@mcmollycuddle That's the stupidest argument I've ever heard. To think that going to law school necessitates that you must drop vernacular language at all times is ridiculous. Go back to school and come back to us when you've learned not to think like a monkey.
@humanityblues lol, i think shes still at school. Anyway, its funny how when your around the end of your time that sales arn't going right...and the bs manager has a feeling your going to say forget it and quit, they have the nerve to compare vector to another job.
For example... You could be making minimum wage at McDonalds working your ass off, blah blah blah. 1) Why compare a so called professional job to such a small time job and position? 2)Why are you chewing a baby?
@mcmollycuddle a real job? Sorry miss but this is not a real job. You are the one who needs a real job. I'm sure your kids are gonna love saying that mommy is a knife salesman when their older. What a joke.
@WarnerVP First of all, the music to this video is awesome. You are wrong. Second, this video took almost no time to make. Look at the quality! I don't know how you define success, but I'm willing to put my exploits against yours any day. What do you do?
i only applied because i was desperate for a job, i'm still unemployed unfortunately but it's better than working for that company. when i tried to quit the manager wouldn't shut up, he kept saying stuff like "are you gonna give up on yourself that quick?" and "where there's a will there's a way!" anyone else hear something similar? i didn't show up for the next training session because i wasn't getting paid and it was a waste of time and gas, then he started harassing me with phone calls.
I didn't join Vector because I asked the receptionist what the company sold and they didn't answer my question and I figured if they can't answer my question, then they have something up their sleeve.
Pay $140 to join company. Then pimp ur family. I just broke down their two hour spiel in 15 seconds. Fucked up they try to string u along that long. Also if ur looking for a job how do u get $140 to start plus gas and car maintenance to get to these so called appointments? All that's fine and well but very very very misleading! Creepy just plain creepy!! How can they b stopped?
@420Diogi It depends. Some "got the job" just to get the knives at discount. I remember my personal meeting have about 20 people who did that. They in reality said forget the job, I just want the knives for $140 than $700. This job part is creepy. I was lucky to break even (after the "hard work") I did make a small profit, but I saw it as "getting the knives for free" in the end.
@rollercoasterfweak Interesting that so many people wind up joining. Can't help but think about em everytime I'm slicing something. Hehe. Do ur knives still work? Just curious. Thinking maybe I shoulda invested in the knives. :-)
@420Diogi Yes they still do. Very durable and reliable knives. (This is not false advertising either). These things do make a difference. If you're one of those iron chef kinds of ppl, no big deal but for us amateurs, it's really powerful!
I've never worked for Vector, nor do I intend to. I don't disagree that it's a scam. I am, however, a little offended that you would make personal attacks toward me for being "dumb" because I'm a college student. Ad hominem and generalizations about isolated groups don't make you sound any more intelligent.
Yes, Vector is likely a scam. I'm willing to bet though that most people who read this will agree that YOU are considerably dumber than us "college students."
I went to that fuckin job got hired, left and neva came back.. its bullshit who the fuck wants to sell kitchen knives thats wack i'll rather work at Hollister or somethin if u think u have a real job by workin there then u pieces of shit dont kno wats comin....
super funny video. I (sort of) work for Vector. It's a really shitty job but I can't find anywhere else to work. You're right, you can make a lot of money working there, but you have to be one of those weird salesmen types who has no dignity. And I just read some stuff on your blog, it's absolutely hilarious. You, sir, are one of a kind, and although you won't take down the company because they aren't technically doing anything illegal, I say well done.
all you who support Vector/Cutco are Dumb FUCKS! you are either managers or you have rich ass friends and family members who dont give a shit about wasting hundreds on useless decoration knives. who in the fuck has to cut a mother fuckin penny when youre cooking? they feed off of young dumb fucks like you hungry for "easy" money who have no idea how the pyramid scheme works, THE MANAGERS ARE THE ONES MAKING BIG BILLS EVERY WEEK NOT YOU. when you go and quit i bet they'll deny your deposit refund
@TruestKilla123 You sell knives. You go into people's homes and try to make them feel sorry for you so you can sell them knives. Before you start talking shit to people, keep in mind you sell knives to people by giving presentations in their homes. I can't begin to tell you how loserish that is.
@humanityblues hahaha i dont have to make anyone feel sorry for me. and this isnt my only job dumb ass. this just lets me get more money. so don't act like you know shit. your the one wasting your loserish time by putting bullshit on youtube about a company that your pissed off at because you cant sell shit. smh get a life and a real job. you arent a damn lawyer.
@TruestKilla123 Do you think anyone cares if they failed at selling knives? I never even bothered working for Vector because it was obviously a scam. I wouldn't lower my self to selling knives if you put a gun to my head. Keep in mind before you start attacking people, you're going around the internet attacking people because they don't want to be suckered into buying knives. And as for not being a lawyer, you wouldn't know one anyways. No Vector grads go on to do anything but shit jobs.
Some of Vector's methods are questionable and sometimes downright distasteful, but hey, I personally love the product and I love showing people how great it is. They see it's great, they buy, I make tons of money. Unlike ferdy down there, I could make $2500 in a weekend if I put lots of effort into it. If not, maybe $500-$1500 in a weekend, which still isn't bad at all. Try to get that much on a McDonald's weekend, humanityblues.
@fiddlefiend youre probably a manager . so shut the fuck up. all youre doing is psychologically convincing people to buy these damn knives. preying on young innocent students who very well NEED a damn scholarship and would like to have extra money on the side. McDonald's is a smart ass choice. you can suck a million dirty dicks you ass fuck
your a fucking idiot. I've been working for vector for 1 month and I've made over $1000 workin part time. Your just upset because you suck at selling the easiest products to sell. Honestly, its so easy to make alot of money selling cutco because everyone loves it and wants it. If you cant sell or dnt sell alot, your just an idiot.
@ferdy102192 Take note of this poster here. He is a perfect example of an illiterate Vector Marketing employee. If you only made $1000 in a month, seriously, why are you bragging about it? You can make that much part time at McDonalds, and at least you'll have your dignity. Let me know when you run out of people to sell to and have no job whatsoever. If you didn't notice how dishonest Vector is right off the bat, you ain't that bright.
@humanityblues if you can make 1000 a month working PART time at mcdonalds, thats impressive, minimum wage is what 7 dollars, so for 1000 dollars that is about 143 hours, 4 weeks in a month, so thats about 35 to 36 hours of work a week, that isnt part time, no way you will make that in a month part time, you sir are wrong, GTFO, KTHXBAI
@staybrutal19 Your logic is stupid and easily refuted. First, 35 hours is party time. Are you stupid? Second, 8 years ago, the starting pay at Maccy D's was $8.25 /hr (which btw, is what the average vector marketing "employee" makes when you factor in transportation and the wasted (and illegal) unpaid meetings. I'm sure Vector love someone as illogical as yourself.
@humanityblues the meetings aren't illegal because the put "optional" before it but then stress...or sometimes purposely leave out the optional phrase from the words. They have never paid me for no sale appointments and currently owe me a large sum of money...for as far as appointment rates go. It's unethical and I notice the college I'm at has actually taken them out of the school and won't allow them to advertise there anymore
@Kartracer6 I'm a lawyer. If they force you in any way to do unpaid meetings, it is against the labor laws of pretty much every jurisdiction. Even if they say it's optional, if it's not actually optional and a farse, you are being forced to go to training. If you're not being paid, I would call the Department of Labor and Industries in your area.
@humanityblues I'll definitely talk to the labor department about it. I never even thought to ask them. I guess the ones I asked are the ones scamming me so they would tell me anything. They told me weekly meetings are optional but highly recommended and they do give you crap for missing them. Their crap with training is "it's your choice to show up but we won't let you work for us if you don't"
@humanityblues, The meetings aren't mandatory at all.. I missed meetings all the time, and almost never went in for "phone jams." I knew people who could only make one or none of the two meetings a week, and our manager never had a problem with it at all. Sure, they pressure you to go to the meetings so that you can keep close with the team and learn more about product but there's absolutely nothing wrong with that imo.. They are a business, and so want their people to actually do something.
@ferdy102192 $1000 in a month? That's horrible. Humanity is right, you could make more working at McDonalds and it would look better on your resume than vector, because everyone knows vector is a classic example of a pyramid scam
@humanityblues well im just saying its like any other job all u gotta do is just try hard and no what your doing which they teach you and it sounds like a considerably easy job so why would it be a scam
@humanityblues - Did you read the blogspot story? Today, I received a call from Vector. So, I checked them out.. Now, if the place is as great as everyone says, the place would have very few mentions. The fact that Vector Marketing generates so many hits on Youtube is every telling. In fact, currently the only company with more hits on Youtube than Vector is BP. If it was great, then there wouldn't be so many polarized videos on each side. Red flags abound with this company.
@jordanwhitman1991 jordan vector is a walk-in and get hired kind of thing. i went to the interview. said im bad a communicating skills, didnt talk in the group interview, yet i got hired and the guy said "i have a nice personality" lol it was crazyy haha but good luck selling stuff man
@jordanwhitman1991 just google vector and "scam" appears EVERYWHERE. You really should be such an asshole to people because you it makes you look really stupid. This is one of the biggest scams ever, next to secret shoppers. You are only 18 years old, so we don't expect you to be that bright. I went to one of their interviews and walked right out of there cuz i could smell the bullshit as soon as i saw I walked in that door
@jordanwhitman1991 lmao i went in their and wrote "this company is a scam" on the application and they still hired me, you think you accomplished something in your life finally? think again
@jordanwhitman1991 Field Operations Supervisor for the US Census Bureau at 21 years of age 22.50 an hour and i run my own buisness aswell, fuck you and your steak knives, everyone in my neighborhood, including myself, has that overrated cutlery in our kitchen. what makes you think i wanna invest in a company thats trying to pimp me? have fun knockin doors in my neighborhood, some nig is gonna pull the same knife your selling to your throat and jack your shit, whats vector gonna do for you then?
@Ashrafhossain2010 holy shyt man.. ur right! no social scurity number wtfffffff dam man im glad i saw ur comment and im glad i never went to training lol fuuck vector
i got hired 2 days ago.. my training is tomorrow.. but i dont think this is really a scam.. it just works for some people who know alot of people and have a natural talent in selling things. but for those who dont they basically swindle u out of 171 for your starter kit and maybe they think you wont last long so you dont end up making up for it.
@LawlCatsFTW I've never had a problem necessarily with people who work for vector, it is the managers and people running the show I have the most problems with. Their practices are incredibly deceptive and they outright lie--this is all pretty well documented. That is the biggest problem IMO. Moreover, the unpaid training and staff meetings are entirely illegal under any state's independent contractor/employee laws. etc. etc. If you succeed, cool, just don't turn into a total dick.
@humanityblues once again somebody is an ignorant son a of a bitch, You are so biased in your research. How about redoing it and actually uncovering the good in it too.
@cgtrademark It's so funny you should say this because ever since making this video I get sent all sorts of damning information and documents that I haven't even written about yet. So ya, I could make another video that is more truthful, but I don't think you really want that do you.
I think everyone watching this video should look at cgtrademark's manner of speaking and you get a pretty good idea what an angry, incoherent Vector Marketing apologist looks like.
@humanityblues lol me becoming a dick? haha i think u think im on the wrong side here... i never went to the training BECAUSE i watched this video again lmfao so thanks man for saving me that money from the stupid kit and yeah.. like that one guy up there said.. they dont even ask for your SSN.
@jordanwhitman1991 I was hired at Vector over 8 years ago. I have a job. I make very good money. Read my blog. EVERYONE gets hired. I've talked to several managers who will admit this. You are not special. You have to try to not get hired. Come on man. Think about your interview. Did you really do anything special? Of course not. Aside from the fact that the unpaid training is illegal, my main issue with vector is their deceitful hiring practices, which no one can dispute. Good luck
You know how I knew this is a scam, right off the bat? The ad targets high school and college students, right? Well I got three of the same letter in the mail. One was for my father, one for my mother, and one for me. Now obviously my parents are in their 50's, a far cry for being in college. All they are doing is pulling names out of the phone book....
You made me feel better, because after the manager kicked me out for not paying attention which isn't true. I felt like shit afterwards, but after googling about the company and their scams. I felt alot better along with your video.
This video desvere a fav+ :) Also who wants to buy stupid knifes from VM? You can possibly get them at other stores than making phone calls to people to buy them. What a dumb scambag job position. You get paid 17.45 for this. So Sad!
I've just got a mail from them today. Good thing I google searched this so called company, because I find it iffy how they don't even put the company address on the letter. All it says is a bunch of advantages that I might get if I got hired and then a telphone # to schedule an interview .___.
@apriliak3 the reason they dont put the address on the letter is because they have so many offices in every state. when you call the number they will give you the address of the office closest to you. it is a legit company and they are so much fun to work for. i love it and i wouldnt have it any other way. i encourage you to definitely give them a call and at least go through training. then you can make an educated decision instead of listening to someone who obviously failed at it. --Shane
Im just gonna buy an ounce of medical grade marijuanna and make just as much profit without the fear of being ripped off. thanks anyways, i thought vector would be a great alternative to sellin weed to pay the man for my college education.
@JeremyATX yeah, me too. i just got hired today and i have no fucking clue of whats going on. except for i am homeless, scratch that, i am living at my girlfreinds grandma's. i need a job and i havent had any other luck anywhere else
they sent me something today i am only 17 they could get in trouble if i accepted because minors arent supposed to have knives, unless its mail order... but i am glad i cant drive or i would be screwed....
They are a JOKE! They target naiive college students and mislead them into thinking they will be making big bucks. You are basically selling cutlery (knives) to people AT THEIR HOMES. You have to pay a up front for a demo set. Now you tell me who on earth in these hard economic times is gonna pay a salesperson good money for a set of cutlery these days? Unless you are the type of person who can sell snow to Eskimos then maybe, but for the average person??
i am glad to say i avoided their tomfoolery thanks to helpful videos like this. its true, the whole call i received sounded underhandedly sneaky, not describing shit and mentioning 3 times how ive been referred by a person ive not talked to at all. the pyramid sceme is shit. the overpriced knives are shit. VECTOR is shit. bitches n bastards, that is all
I work for vector and it can be hard I have the honor of being trained by the best manager in the division maybe you didnt you have the opprotuity to have that but I this has given me a well need smack to be alert thanks
It's funny cause I've seen the "not working hard" phrase used a lot on forums and message boards in posts defending Vector. While I believe a fraction of them come from some employees who worked hard and also caught a lucky break, most of them are very suspicious and do sound like they're manufactured.
Vector is bullshit, we had a 14 person group interview yesterday and i guarantee every single one of us got accepted. i took the stupid paper home and later on that night i called the asshole to tell him im not going. that job is bullshit and a god damn waste of my time a good 2 hrs of my time wasted at the interview BS
I have to thank you. You saved me a lot of time. After I came across your video I dug a little to see if the vector you are talking about was the same one that sent me a letter. It was. I personally don't like dooor to door salesmen I find them pushy and rude. So thank you for letting others know about this scam.
@TwilightMomiji videos are lies...its not a door to door. People will recomend u if u do good on ur demonstration and we are not pushy its up to u to buy things from us since we get by presenting it even if u dont buy stuff
I love how I came to this video for answers and ended up loving the song! Lmao I literally just got a call from a manager at Vector saying that they'd love to have me work for them and got all excited like, "yay I got the job!" Then I found out that it could possibly be a scam and now I don't know what to think. Is everyone lying to me? Aaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhh
My resume is out there for any employer to see and Vector saw it and I guess they liked it. I had no idea what Vector was. I had an interview for this coming Monday at 1pm....Notice I said had. I called the office and canceled my interview. They want you to sell knives door to door and hit your family and friends up to buy over price knives. You're a fool if you work for Vector and an even bigger fool if you buy the knives.
@wallstander Its not door to door at all =V Its all a recommendation process. You start with family and from there get recommendations on people who might be interested in SEEING the knives, since you get payed for just showing them.. And you cant even see the people and aren't even supposed to call them unless its been approved through the person who gave the recommendation.. You guys should actually try it so you can at least talk shit about it with experience instead of doing it blind.
Thanks for the heads up, i really appreciate it. I jst got this letter in the mail today from them and i had no idea what it was, it sounded like a nice job for the summer but i didn't know what it was so i googled it.. and found you so THANK YOU! It truly sounds like a scam and i don't feel like dealing with that kind of bullshit (:
I called Vector Marketing today. They wanted to interview me an hour later, so I went and checked it out. What they really had me do was a pre-interview. They said that the real 90-minute interview would be right after. They also informed me that they'd tell me what the job was AFTER I accepted the position. The "manager" said he wanted me (and everyone else who was there) to start tomorrow. He didn't even want my resume, so I knew it was BS. I left after the pre-interview. What a waste of time!
i agree 100%. ive had people running the same scam say that people are paid what they are worth so i told them i wanted 100% of the profits then. the conversation didnt go any further. lol.
I was cheated. I ended up losing money from pocket (instead of earning) for my gas and food (beside from that sample kit) because I had to stay on the road from 8 am to 8 pm. now its almost 2 weeks and I'm about to quit but no job after that. I worked there full time
. Vector Marketing scam has already admitted to fraud in settlements with the Australian Consumer and Competition Commission (1999), Wisconsin Consumer Protection Dept (1994), and Arizona Attorney General (1992).
Vector Marketing Corporation is a SCAM. They hire anyone that applies to work for them. If hire, you'll had to pay about $300 to buy a set of knives. And that is how they profit. They hire anyone that applies to work for them then make them buy their knives. Imagine trying to sell what you had to sell when competing against hundreds of others who are who are doing the same thing you're doing. Google "Vector Marketing" SCAM, and there'll be 56,000 results. Vector Marketing is indeed a SCAM.

This job is not for everyone, and although we accept a lot of people it's because we are giving you an opportunity.

ElPueyoLoco 7 months ago
Personally, just to throw in my opinion, I'm going to be trained and all this talk from both parties of Pro- and anti-Vector just shows how the internet is a crap place to look for information. Hopefully when I walk in for my training or as others say, so-called training, I'll know what's really up with this company...
ElPueyoLoco 7 months ago
I hate how people really think they are being trained. Your not being trained your being scammed they are just making you think they are training you.If you want to learn a trad go to a school that will teach you a trad. But don't think your going to learn anything from vector.
smallshank 7 months ago
@smallshank how is it a scam when it's free, and you have the opportunity to gain much for sacrificing nothing? and training can't entirely train you, it's the experience. the training is just a start. i paid for college while in college through this job. i sold knives for an hour a day, and got through college. if they scammed me, they did a damn good job, because they scammed me so hard that i'm successful. i can't speak for every office, but the one i work at has been a great experience.

I have an interview with vector marketing today and I was smart enough to google/youtube it and I am not gonna show up for their interview. The person called me if i wanted to come to their interview, but i started asking them questions about their crappy marketing techniques of earning money buy robing their employees and she immediately put the phone down. This shows EVERYTHING!!!
srkambbs 8 months ago 3
95% percent of employees do not quit in their first 2 weeks. That is horribly wrong. 9 colleges use vector to teach sales techniques so there must be some advantage to the company..You can market however you want they just recommend the way that tends to work the best. It is what you make it. It looks to me like the person who made this video is a stereotypical lazy person who spends his free time making videos about a company that is in no way a scam because literally not a penny is asked for.
parkerroanm 8 months ago
@parkerroanm Ok dumb ass. First of all, the number might actually be higher than 95%. But feel free to prove me wrong with actual numbers. Oh that's right! You can't! I have the data.
Secondly, your ad hom attack that I'm "stereotypically lazy" is retarded. I went to college 7 years ago! I'm a fucking lawyer. And this video took me literally 45 minutes to make, and you'll notice I don't spend a lot of time doing videos. Go ahead and look at my channel, almost nothing.

You might have to sit through training but maybe you will learn some basic sales skills which you use in matter what profession you are in.
parkerroanm 8 months ago
@parkerroanm No. Vector is a total scam where 95% fail. Even the managers I've talked with admit that. Go back to your Vector lemming lair and think of a more creative way to stick up for Vector rather than trolling this AMAZING video. The company is shit.
humanityblues 8 months ago
reading the arguments about this video is probably the funniest thing i have yet to see on youtube. The only reason the cutco people are even arguing is because they feel stupid because they weren't sharp enough to realize they were being hoodwinked. ;) I went to the interview in shorts, and a t-shirt i had worn from my real job at a car garage, still got the job, but i peeked behind the "manager's" door and saw him eating a baby so i decided to leave and never come back.
nikellh 8 months ago
I'm not sure if I'd necessarily call it a scam. After all, the knives are pretty amazing, but Vector definitely lures in young students with a lot of promises and ultimately interferes with their lives. My experience, "COMPLETELY flexible hours! It won't interfere with your class times"...except for the mandatory three day training period during the school week...and the weekly meetings...and the required calls every morning...and the "encouraged" push periods for sales. Don't fall for it

@420Diogi It depends. Some "got the job" just to get the knives at discount. I remember my personal meeting have about 20 people who did that. They in reality said forget the job, I just want the knives for $140 than $700. This job part is creepy. ferdy102192 1 year ago
If you didn't notice how dishonest Vector is right off the bat, you ain't that bright.
humanityblues 1 year ago 3
@humanityblues if you can make 1000 a month working PART time at mcdonalds, thats impressive, minimum wage is what 7 dollars, so for 1000 dollars that is about 143 hours, 4 weeks in a month, so thats about 35 to 36 hours of work a week, that isnt part time, no way you will make that in a month part time, you sir are wrong, GTFO, KTHXBAI
staybrutal19 1 year ago
@staybrutal19 Your logic is stupid and easily refuted. First, 35 hours is party time. Are you stupid? Second, 8 years ago, the starting pay at Maccy D's was $8.25 /hr (which btw, is what the average vector marketing "employee" makes when you factor in transportation and the wasted (and illegal) unpaid meetings. I'm sure Vector love someone as illogical as yourself.
humanityblues 1 year ago
@humanityblues the meetings aren't illegal because the put "optional" before it but then stress...or sometimes purposely leave out the optional phrase from the words. They have never paid me for no sale appointments and currently owe me a large sum of money...for as far as appointment rates go. It's unethical and I notice the college I'm at has actually taken them out of the school and won't allow them to advertise there anymore
Kartracer6 1 year ago
@Kartracer6 I'm a lawyer. If they force you in any way to do unpaid meetings, it is against the labor laws of pretty much every jurisdiction. Even if they say it's optional, if it's not actually optional and a farse, you are being forced to go to training. If you're not being paid, I would call the Department of Labor and Industries in your area.
humanityblues 1 year ago
@humanityblues I'll definitely talk to the labor department about it. I never even thought to ask them. I guess the ones I asked are the ones scamming me so they would tell me anything. They told me weekly meetings are optional but highly recommended and they do give you crap for missing them. Their crap with training is "it's your choice to show up but we won't let you work for us if you don't"
Kartracer6 1 year ago
@humanityblues, The meetings aren't mandatory at all.. I missed meetings all the time, and almost never went in for "phone jams." I knew people who could only make one or none of the two meetings a week, and our manager never had a problem with it at all. Sure, they pressure you to go to the meetings so that you can keep close with the team and learn more about product but there's absolutely nothing wrong with that imo.. They are a business, and so want their people to actually do something.

In fact, currently the only company with more hits on Youtube than Vector is BP. If it was great, then there wouldn't be so many polarized videos on each side. Red flags abound with this company.

@jordanwhitman1991 jordan vector is a walk-in and get hired kind of thing. i went to the interview. said im bad a communicating skills, didnt talk in the group interview, yet i got hired and the guy said "i have a nice personality" lol it was crazyy haha but good luck selling stuff man
LawlCatsFTW 1 year ago
@jordanwhitman1991 just google vector and "scam" appears EVERYWHERE. You really should be such an asshole to people because you it makes you look really stupid. This is one of the biggest scams ever, next to secret shoppers. You are only 18 years old, so we don't expect you to be that bright. I went to one of their interviews and walked right out of there cuz i could smell the bullshit as soon as i saw I walked in that door

@jordanwhitman1991 lmao i went in their and wrote "this company is a scam" on the application and they still hired me, you think you accomplished something in your life finally? think again

@Ashrafhossain2010 holy shyt man.. ur right! no social scurity number wtfffffff dam man im glad i saw ur comment and im glad i never went to training lol fuuck vector
LawlCatsFTW 1 year ago
@LawlCatsFTW yea they are very bogus!
Ashrafhossain2010 9 months ago
i got hired 2 days ago.. my training is tomorrow.. but i dont think this is really a scam.. it just works for some people who know alot of people and have a natural talent in selling things. but for those who dont they basically swindle u out of 171 for your starter kit and maybe they think you wont last long so you dont end up making up for it.
LawlCatsFTW 1 year ago
@LawlCatsFTW I've never had a problem necessarily with people who work for vector, it is the managers and people running the show I have the most problems with. Their practices are incredibly deceptive and they outright lie--this is all pretty well documented. That is the biggest problem IMO. Moreover, the unpaid training and staff meetings are entirely illegal under any state's independent contractor/employee laws. etc. etc. If you succeed, cool, just don't turn into a total dick.
humanityblues 1 year ago
@humanityblues once again somebody is an ignorant son a of a bitch, You are so biased in your research. How about redoing it and actually uncovering the good in it too.
cgtrademark 1 year ago
@cgtrademark It's so funny you should say this because ever since making this video I get sent all sorts of damning information and documents that I haven't even written about yet. So ya, I could make another video that is more truthful, but I don't think you really want that do you.
I think everyone watching this video should look at cgtrademark's manner of speaking and you get a pretty good idea what an angry, incoherent Vector Marketing apologist looks like.

@cgtrademark knives? shit the ones from 99 cent store are good enough to use

@humanityblues lol me becoming a dick? haha i think u think im on the wrong side here... i never went to the training BECAUSE i watched this video again lmfao so thanks man for saving me that money from the stupid kit and yeah.. like that one guy up there said.. they dont even ask for your SSN.
LawlCatsFTW 1 year ago
@LawlCatsFTW ya same here im with lawcats i dont think its a scam i think the dude is pissed because no one will hire him lol
jordanwhitman1991 1 year ago

I BURNED those letters immediately.
ethen24 1 year ago
I fucking love you! <3

All it says is a bunch of advantages that I might get if I got hired and then a telphone # to schedule an interview .___.
apriliak3 1 year ago
@apriliak3 the reason they dont put the address on the letter is because they have so many offices in every state. when you call the number they will give you the address of the office closest to you. it is a legit company and they are so much fun to work for. i love it and i wouldnt have it any other way. i encourage you to definitely give them a call and at least go through training. then you can make an educated decision instead of listening to someone who obviously failed at it. --Shane

Halo3vsLoZ 1 year ago

TwilightMomiji 1 year ago

You're a fool if you work for Vector and an even bigger fool if you buy the knives.
wallstander 1 year ago 5

MsXboxliveNerd 1 year ago

I worked there full time

. Vector Marketing scam has already admitted to fraud in settlements with the Australian Consumer and Competition Commission (1999), Wisconsin Consumer Protection Dept (1994), and Arizona Attorney General (1992).
swomac8199 1 year ago
Vector Marketing Corporation is a SCAM. They hire anyone that applies to work for them. If hire, you'll had to pay about $300 to buy a set of knives. And that is how they profit. They hire anyone that applies to work for them then make them buy their knives. Imagine trying to sell what you had to sell when competing against hundreds of others who are who are doing the same thing you're doing. Google "Vector Marketing" SCAM, and there'll be 56,000 results. Vector Marketing is indeed a SCAM.
