We have elected councils, an elected state parliament, an elected national parliament, an elected european parliament. The turn out was low, but theres no evidence to suggest if it was far higher labour would have lost. The SNP just have very little support in that part of Scotland. You only won Glasgow East with about 300 votes. It can be taken back by labour at the next election.

Scotland has not been around for ever. At a certain point in history what is now Scotland was formed. At that point in time the people did not get to vote for the unification of Scotland. Scotlands unification was a lot more bloody and undemocratic than the unification of Great Britain. Sorry to break that to you.

There was a need for everyone in this country to speak English, sorry about that however it is being made up for today with protection being given to these minority languages. There were riots but it was not open civil war, it was not an occupation. Scotland and England joined together and after that happened we went on to create one of the greatest countries in the world, the largest empire in human history, Scotland played a huge role in that.
