Not confusing at all, it's really helpful, thanks so much:) And don't worry about looking goofy, it really helps, when you break down how to sound it out:)
You are adorable... and the only non-annoying video i have found so far. Thanks!! Please post some more videos. Maybe beginning conversational videos?
It's ok to pause and stop. That means that you take the time to think before you speak, so that you tell us exactly what we need to know. Your nervous manner is adorable. Thanks so much for making this video. I'm planning on visiting Germany or Austria in a year or two. I'd like to learn before I get there even if English speakers are easy to find. XD Keep it up!
man, you have no idea how helpful your videos are! Do you have one where you explain the pronunciations of the letter "R"? Also, can you say "Goethe" for me? xD 'cause I can't get it right haha
Great Job! This helped so much to have someone break down the differences between the german letters and their english counterparts.
I also use the beginning of the english word "Hue" to help with the german "ch" as it forces the back of the tongue towards the roof of the mouth. Hopefully that might help someone out. Its the only english word I have found where that sound is used.
Just wanted to say...you have no reason to be nervous about this at all! This is the best German tutorial video I've seen yet. I just started German I at college and so far this has helped me more than my actual class. Thanks for posting!
For the "ch" combinations... I'm not sure if it's the same in German (compared to French), but when I used to study french, our teacher gave us hard candy like Jolly Ranchers to suck on and, well, make us salivate. It helped us make the sound that you made with your funny face :-) Maybe that helps?
i swear you are like my hero now. this is helping so much, cause I know my american accent is terrible but hopefully it won't be so horrid now ^^ I especially like the "yes" part. It's really gonna help me make the sounds. Vielen Dank!
Hi, your lessons are really helpful and didactic!! Could you make a video about the pronunciation of the German "R", please?
I'm Italian and I pronounce the R sound with the tip of my tongue behind my top front teeth. I know that a similar pronunciation is used in the south of Germany, but, damn, I want to succeed in pronouncing the "standard" German R (the one pronounced in the back of the mouth).
@ILoveLanguages14 Im not german, but after singing a couple of tokio hotel songs in german (*ich liebe tokio hotel!*) like rette mich.. it's like...well.. for me, it's like rolling yur tounge in the back of your throat. Kinda like gargling, but without the water, or trying to hack up a loogie...lolz might be disgusting and immature, but it helps!
The tip with the second "CH" (yeah, the weird one) is very useful since it is one of the most dificults sounds in german (for english speaking people).

@jamiebleast (PS In french, that was to make the "r" sound, but it had the same gurgling quality)
