Man what the hell? You guys are seriously wrong about all this. Dante wasn't even trying to beat you in DMC4. What the hell? They should have gave him Devil Trigger! Give him his frickin Beowulf instead of lame Gilgamesh, gave him that damn guitar thing and give him faster reflexes. What ARE you talking about? I mean at least as much as Vergil tried beating him at DMC3. The only bosses I ever loved fighting WERE DANTE or VERGIL.
@darthkahn45 I've never played any dmcs before that, so the best one i knew is beowulf. If ifrit was better, then cool. It makes my point even more clear, that gilgamesh sucks, and they should have at least let dante use infinite devil trigger when he goes low health or something
indeed... there is only as many close combat weapons humans can think along with combos for them.
Scythe? Sparda... check
Swords? all kind of... check
dual swords? agni and rudra... check
punching gloves? 3 of a kind... check
Guns? pretty much all covered except maybe an UZI or M16 shaped weapon, still they would pretty much function like dual guns so... pretty much check as well.
How bout a spear then? or nunchaku? or tonfas? or chinese sabre sword?

So I tend to jump on people when they act like Beowolf was an original idea or that Yamato was always and just Vergil's and that his Amulet was gold when originally they were both silver. Why they changed it I will never understand, when they were both silver them both being 2 halves of a whole looked better.
I'm so glad that Dante was hard in DMD mode. They made his character seem just as much of a badass when you waren't playing as him. In fact I didn't even care getting beat by him becuase if I was playing as him I'd probably Destroy every demon in every room.
Beat him on Dante Must Die mode yesterday, was the most fun boss I ever played in DMC especially when I didn't use buster, items or the charge shot xD

@darthkahn45 The cheap way to beat him is to stand on top of the structure in the middle of the room and buster him every time he comes up. personally I love the battle. Even when he is kicking my butt I am laughing and loving it.
@Axl124124 Or just use the ultra cheap shoot>Buster technique. Personally I just love trying to fight him properly especially with the sword because on the harder difficulties you have to sometimes be so many steps in front of him to land a blow it feels like a game of chess lol.
@XxKirstinxScottxX I would love to see some kind of spinoff where they bring everyone in young Dante, Old Dante, Vergil, Nero, Lucia, Nelo Angelo, Trish and Lady. All of them playable and unique :D

Dante tore his way through the entire order and regardless Nero ran right up to him and dropkicked him square in the face since when do pussies do things like that? @darthkahn45 I never mentioned the crying thank you very much but now that you mention it,Nero was whining about his girlfriend the entire movie. Dante caused the death of one who mirrored the image of his mother. Dante is not an asshole, he is sort of a clown actually, but at least he's well built. We can even see how his character builds in 3. Now, in any other game, Nero would be cool. But DMC has a reputation of having badass characters, so compared to Lady, Vergil, even BERIAL he sucks.

Then it all changed again in 3 and then they screwed up whatever consistancy his personality had left with 4.
With DMC, change is standard procedure and always was.

Putting him through physical and emotional hardship, kind of a rite of passage for him to help rebuild his character and make his tough guy attitude more justified and his character more relatable. Probably not but hopefullly there is a good resason behind it and Capcom are not just throwing themselves on the floor like a spoilt child who isn't getting enough attention.

Don't get me wrong, I loved getting a new character with a new style. Unlike in DMC3 where vergil may as well have been dante w/ different weapons, Nero had a completely different way of fighting, it was pretty badass.
But the problem was that they didn't make his story and Dante's seperate. Us who enjoyed dante's style felt ripped off that his levels were just the same as Nero's and seemed.... last minute.

The only fucking way I managed to beat Dante on Hell & Hell for the second time was pinning him against the wall (Yeah, sounds sick.) and using split and double down, which my timing had to be nearly perfect.. then i used 2 holy waters. Dude is rentless, I tell you.

At Least Dante must Die isn't as bad as Hel an dHell. MY GOD! You die In one hit from the weakest enimies no matter what your maxed out helath his, but unlike Heaven o rHell mode, They take as much dame as DMD mode. DAMN!
Yeah hell and hell mode was a little over the top in my opinion. But I suppose it served its purpose as the ultimate challenge.
I don't think I have ever played through a game more carefully in my life lol, luckily most of the enemies make a warning noise before they attack like when the scarecrows go "woopah!"
i just started a new campaign in devil hunter and i beat Dante not so hard but it got to be very hard cus you play in devil hunter mode with no abilities or items
Dante in Devil Hunter is EASY!! i could kill him with NO skills, he is unbearably easy there! seriously! try playing against him in DMD. OMG is he tough. he will kick your ass even if you have full health with all the secret missions, and he will STILL kick your ass. the AI not only plays 100 times better then the BEST DMC player you can find in the world, but he does it with ALL the weapons AND all the skills you can get in DMC for him. Pandora, Lucifer, Gergamesh, with ALL the skills.
i mean god damn! he is so tough that just to face him, you have to go on Devil Hunter and kick his ass millions of times just to cool yourself from getting YOUR ass HANDED to you a 100 times, that motherfucker is tough! and just for the hell of it, every time he will find a new way to kill you. HE IS A FUCKING PAIN IN THE ASS IN DMD!!!!
your only chance against him is using Charge Shot level 3 on him as soon as he does a stinger. Lure him in by snatching him over and over, then he will eventually try to do a stinger, dodge and shoot him with the charge shot. if he starts using Royal Guard, run up to him, and DT buster him. if you see him going for an Omen, SHOOT SHOOT SHOOT!!! or else your dead.
Well Sparda was alive enough to leave an impression on both boys....And he trained them that much was obvious or close friend to Sparda took Dante/Yamato gains sentinecy and teachs Vergil all the attacks.Yamato-A sword used by Sparda.a keepsake as well.
dante was definately the hardest boss in devil may cry 4 ... if you fucked up even once ... boy did he let you know it .. you and about 3 quarters of your health go flying across the room .. and that's just the start of the combo
lol tell me about it! the thing is that the rules of health with Dante were eased down a little because they knew he was going to do the same amount of damage with his skill and combos anyway.
I remember being genuinely scared when I was about to fight him on DMD I took tonnes of items into that fight haha.
there's an easy way. Use the devil bringer, and immediately after that, press Buster. After the devil bringer, he will evade and he'll use stinger, but if you press the Buster you'll catch him :)
Nero needs to pratice his sword moves a bit more because the way he does it,a black belt can take hime.Dante swings his sword with fluidity and strength.

@ROADAROLLA Lol at how you don't realize that DMC fans love Dante for a good reason.
Don't get me wrong, I loved getting a new character with a new style. Unlike in DMC3 where vergil may as well have been dante w/ different weapons, Nero had a completely different way of fighting, it was pretty badass.
But the problem was that they didn't make his story and Dante's seperate. Us who enjoyed dante's style felt ripped off that his levels were just the same as Nero's and seemed.... last minute.

@kickedsazabi man I never do that this fight is great fun as long as you play him like a game of chess. Always be 2 steps ahead of him.
Snatch >dodge+stinger > dodge stinger and he is open
You can also coax him into a helm breaker loop where you can get a roulette spin in.

@Parabuthus It sets shit on fire.. Rebellion doesn't but it is so light it can be thrown.. NERO IS SO IGNORANT TO USE HIS DB arm with his sword to use it two handed. Besides Nero's Combat reminds me of Drunken DMC3 Dante (since DMC3 Dante is equal to Nero's strength as stated by the creator) in short his combat is just tooo wild.. I prefer Dante's Rebellion in fighting since that thing is sick!! It transforms with DT while Nero's doesn't. DANTE FOR THE WIIIINN!!

The only fucking way I managed to beat Dante on Hell & Hell for the second time was pinning him against the wall (Yeah, sounds sick.) and using split and double down, which my timing had to be nearly perfect.. then i used 2 holy waters. Dude is rentless, I tell you.

@1tristian Nero didn't own him.Dante was barely even trying.Dante underestimating his skills is why Nero got the upper hand at the end.If Dante was trying his absolute hardest to win, like he did against Vergil,he would have slaughtered the kid.

God this song is so bad mother fucking ass!!!!! Gets my blood & adrenaline pumping everytime I hear this theme playing in the game! I love the "Dante vs. Nero Battle Theme 1" as well! The Devil May Cry franchise always has the most kick ass BGM in all of action gaming!

At Least Dante must Die isn't as bad as Hel an dHell. MY GOD! You die In one hit from the weakest enimies no matter what your maxed out helath his, but unlike Heaven o rHell mode, They take as much dame as DMD mode. DAMN!

Yeah hell and hell mode was a little over the top in my opinion. But I suppose it served its purpose as the ultimate challenge.
I don't think I have ever played through a game more carefully in my life lol, luckily most of the enemies make a warning noise before they attack like when the scarecrows go "woopah!"

Dante in Devil Hunter is EASY!! i could kill him with NO skills, he is unbearably easy there! seriously! try playing against him in DMD. OMG is he tough. he will kick your ass even if you have full health with all the secret missions, and he will STILL kick your ass. the AI not only plays 100 times better then the BEST DMC player you can find in the world, but he does it with ALL the weapons AND all the skills you can get in DMC for him. Pandora, Lucifer, Gergamesh, with ALL the skills.

your only chance against him is using Charge Shot level 3 on him as soon as he does a stinger. Lure him in by snatching him over and over, then he will eventually try to do a stinger, dodge and shoot him with the charge shot. if he starts using Royal Guard, run up to him, and DT buster him. if you see him going for an Omen, SHOOT SHOOT SHOOT!!! or else your dead.

Well Sparda was alive enough to leave an impression on both boys....And he trained them that much was obvious or close friend to Sparda took Dante/Yamato gains sentinecy and teachs Vergil all the attacks.Yamato-A sword used by Sparda.a keepsake as well.

lol tell me about it! the thing is that the rules of health with Dante were eased down a little because they knew he was going to do the same amount of damage with his skill and combos anyway.
I remember being genuinely scared when I was about to fight him on DMD I took tonnes of items into that fight haha.

there's an easy way. Use the devil bringer, and immediately after that, press Buster. After the devil bringer, he will evade and he'll use stinger, but if you press the Buster you'll catch him :)
