HOW TO root T-mobile Galaxy S2

Did you do this on a Mac... the desktop on your computer screen looked like a Mac. I'm wondering because, I have a Mac, and want to be able to root my Samsung Galaxy S2 (T-Mobile?)

when its recovery mode and i select install the superuser it says failed and aborted? why?

When I plug my gs2 in Odin it wont recognize it in Odin...please help :(

@greasedupgamer i for got to tell every one to DOWNLOAD THE DRIVERS foe the gs2, just google it and im sure youll find them. hope that helps.

flash a new rom at xda-developers-com go into forums and look for our phone, you can even download the app on your phone that way you dont even have to use a computer....to my testing the best rom out right now that im using is Juggernut v4.1/ with {KERNEL} Bullet v2.9 i will have a video on how to flash this. i was just going to wait till ics rom was out.

problems after rooting t-mobile SGS2. everything works fine except music/pandora via headphones is barely audible(even after maxing out media volume, maybe the amplifier got screwed up with this s/w version), and the wifi tethering hotspot auto turns off after 10 seconds(i was keeping the screen awake to see this) and no wpa encryption.

I unrooted the phone back, and the music/pandora via headphones plays great, and wifi tethering works good wpa encryption.

do you run into this problem??

U also need the Samsung drivers that's something he didn't mention and the reason why it's not working on some people.if u don't have the drivers Odin (PC) won't be able to read ur phone

Im trying but nothing happens i connect to odin, click pda and the recovery file, then stuck a message n odin saying setupconnection, and nothing happened, my laptop crash lol, but when i tried to go to recovery theres reboot, update from sd card, but dont let me select with power buttom, theres n the bottom yellows letter saying

@TheTOSH40 Well, there was no superuser apps on the phone after my first root. For the second root, I installed the superuser from the sd card instead of the internal sd, and it successfully installed. Thanks for the reply

Yes wifi tether will be free if you root, as soon as the dev. Come out with Roms that will run for this device. Cyanogenmod is a must in my opp. So i will be posting a video on how to flash that Rom when its out.

which recovery did you flash? the only galaxy s option i see is the i9000.

Hey the root worked for me however whenever i turn off the phone the led light at the back keeps flashing for about 5 or 6 flashes and then turns off. Did i do something wrong? Please advise
