very interesting. Looks like those western folks are more inclining towards communist principles than the guy from Egypt. The world is changing. Well we always need herds in our backyard and looks like its gonna be westerners this time.
Wow how grotesque....they will remove a tweet from UK viewers because it was "defamatory?"
Ugh, this is -exactly- the kind of abuse we're talking about. It's exactly western government censorship I'm worried about, particularly given how invasive the United States government has been with regards to farming information secretly with secret subpoenas on Twitter and other social networking/media sites. This is just worrisome and there is no other way about it.
Didnt al waleed bin talal see how MySpace went from being worth hundreds of millions to about 20 million don't invest in Twitter it will soon be obsolete
First of all that so called geek who writes for webuser should be ashamed of himself spouting such nonsense. As a geek myself I expect better from them. The suit I can understand taking such a pro censorship position and hats off to the political activist telling it like it is. All Twitter is doing here is planting another seed for a rival no censorship service to grow in its place.
@ruapraia Considering the number of users and how addicted people become, would be hard to do unless you propose something much better and more entertaining (yet having more freedom). What's your idea? Besides, it would be beyond the point - as eloquently stated in this panel, if Twitter wants to expand to China (a country with a block-all rule), better to have a mechanism and have some features at least.
