Sorry, Ben. Jeff Hammond was not the bass player for the band at this time. If this is indeed 1971, it would be the original bass man, Glenn Cornick. then, it would also be the original drummer, Clive Bunker. One more note. John Evan was born John Evans.
@arklat No, if this is '71, it is definately Hammond playing bass. Cornick was out in late '70. I'm not sure if Barlow really plays on this one, but he did join the band in about june '71, so it could be. I know he played his first gigs with the band in America...
Ya know for some time I had thought Ian was of English decent However born in scotland then moving to England a bit later I was proved wrong. Great proformer, Great band. Just lovely as it were.
@jfritzify yeah he doesn't does he. Maybe he should check out the Stranglers or maybe he's just close minded and friendless other wise he wouldn't say that nonsense.about 'three chords"
@michabelly WHAT DID YOU SAY....?? DID YOU SAY PUNK...? I NEVER HEARD ANYTHING SO DUMB... These are MUSICIANS Dude, calling these MUSICIANS PUNK is like calling John Bohnam a Bongo Player. That's an Insult to the entire Band and there collective Musicianship. If you put every Punk band together they wouldn't know more than 3 (in most cases 2) chords.
You need to get down to Clue-Mart and do some shopping Dude....
@motownharry No this is PUNK! and don't say Punk rockers can't play, Robert Quine from the Voidiods would smoke Martin Barre on the guitar. As a matter of fact, this is hardcore punk because of it's speed factor. BTW, Bonham did play the bongos. Stop seeing music as either something you like and everything else sucks, there are two types of music, good and bad, and there is a lot of great punk music just like there are a lot of great Tull tunes. Go to Clue mart, they'll fill you in.
@motownharry Dude. Punk is not a band genge, it is an attitude. There is not a more punk band that ever existed that exemplified this more than "The Who". And I believe they know more than three, or two, chords. and just so you know, The Clash were great musicians. So were The Cramps.
@Pattonfrodo Hey brother I hear ya, I was at a Tull show back in '69 when they hadn't even released Aqualung yet. Poor guys had a rental car. After the show I caught up to Ian loading his equipment in the trunk, and got to shake the mans hand! Going to see them now for the 2nd time in 40+ years at Red Rocks June 8th!!!!! Yahooooooo!!!!!
En el 71 rumbo Huahutla, Teotitlán del camino, en las regaderas se escuchaba esta rola a todo volúmen en el Vocho gris carretera......

@arklat Also, the OP says this is the Aqualung tour, which would make perfect sence for '71. Hammond played bass for the Aqualung album...

I think if there were a real Doctor Who I'd ask him to take the TADRIS to all the
old Jethro Tull shows of the 70's esp the Aqualung , Thick as Brick and Passion Play tours !
