  • Never heard of this guy. WOW what a talent!!!

  • Saw him the other night at The Living Room. Sitting three feet away you just drift back and forth from sheer pleasure at the music to amazement that he can do these things on guitar. Mr. and Mrs. Mouse and Backburner were also standouts, but his acoustic rendition of Cannonball Rag was sweet, too. It was all great.

  • Just can't get enough of Jim Campilongo!

  • how many times in a row can i listen to this without getting bored, so far seems like a lot

  • How comes that when I pick so close to the saddle, I never sound like that,? How comes he's got such a marvelous legato and not me? How comes that he's got such a gorgeous staccato and not me....Aw shit

  • i just can't help but feeling like in a Norman Rockwell painting everytime i hear Campilongo play his tellies. and i love it!

  • one of the last TELEmasters........

  • Number one!!!!The best!!!

  • it is all in the hands

  • I was referring to my lack of talent when compared to Jim's...

I have more than a dozen tube amps, 5 of which are Fender, and two of those are Princetons, a blackface and a silver face reverb. So, I have that tone, in spades, actually it's my fingers that are inadequate, maybe I should throw rocks at them.

  • @javlib instead of breaking em, give one to me! ahaha

i have no bucks for buying even a transistor one, sorry the awful english, i'm italian ._.

  • After watching this, I threw rocks at my teles, 'cause they don't sound like that.

  • its probably not the tele but the amp...try a princeton!

  • probably your teles are Post CBS teles

looks like jim's tele is a pre-cbs tele

    I don't know

maybe you need a princeton like alexizephyrmage9 said.

  • A hybrid picking style, using a thin pick is required.

  • The pickups that come with even the MIA Tele's are marginal at best. Try a set of Callaham's!

  • nice!!

  • What a great tone!

  • Hey Camp :)

your a stud of the tele.

Gonna take my guitar to your luthier

to get set up,you the man dude.

    Great great song.

  • These guys are really good, and they do it all with just a contrabajo and a Tele. Good ideas and good taste.

  • I wish I could weak improvise like that..

  • hes sick

and this is a sick song

but that was some weak improv

  • I'd love to see your great improv...

sometimes it's better to shut up than writing stupid things...

  • @nalbmalfoy I don't hear much improvising on this track...what are you even talking about?

  • Sorry, without looking, I pretty much repeated what others said...

  • He plays the first 40 or so seconds on the neck pickup. He then switches to the middle position engaging both pickup in parallel. The harmonics part is using the bridge pickup.

  • You're right. It is the middle (thus, the "chimey" tone) and bridge for harmonics.

  • I thought he was just asjusting the volume control when he moves his fingers down there. Looking at the pick-up selector switch it looks like its in the middle position (but its quite dark on the video).

Are you 100% sure its the neck pup?

  • im trying to see which pup hes playing on.

  • The majority of the song is played on the neck pickup. Harmonics are on the bridge (you can see him switch over).

  • boatvox rocks! Thanks for putting all these up :-)
