I wonder how much time will pass before Italy has players like Totti or Del Piero again. Totti could've easily made a career playing in ANY of the biggest clubs in the World. As a Madrid fan, I watched as he and Roma knocked us out from the UCL in 2008. I do not agree with those folks that claim that he was better than Zidane, the Frenchman has more prestige around the World, and I also believe that Zizou was probably the best player I have had the pleasure of watching, but Totti is awesome too

Concordo con lulo81 su quello che dice su totti. Che sia simpatico o no, calcisticamente Totti e un mago e un genio d'incredibile creatività. Vede spazi come non li vede nessuno. Mi spiace ma non ce n'é. Peppe credo che tu abbia visto questo video. e devi ammettere che i lanci che fa questo giocatore, nella nazionale, non li fa nessuno. Abbiamo visto infatti com'é andata in confederation. un disastro. Attacco inesistente e centrocampo che non sa che fare.

It's pretty well known that the Ballon d'Or is reserved for exploits in the Champions League, World Cup, for having a truly mind-numbing season. Roma will only ever have limited success in the Champions League, so that's out, Totti was not instrumental in winning the World Cup... more so Pirlo... so that avenue's gone, and his record season pales in comparison to the one that Cristiano Ronaldo just had. Totti deserves one on talent alone, but I don't think he'll ever win a Ballon d'Or.
