The majoriy of the first 10 years of this show have been destroyed by ABC. They did not keep archives until much later in the series. Yes, this spelled the end of OLTL and it is a mercy-killing that it went off the air.
Dont blame the Buchanans the writers change all the time and the focus shifts...I wonder if and of the old characters will come back for the finale in January
Actually, the arrival of the Bbuchanan's destroyed OLTL. All of the Lord's, Wolek's, Gray's, Craig's, etc., eventually vanished and the show became all about them.
@bluenail03 That is SOOOOOO true!!! The Buchanans came when a new writer took over OLTL. The traditional solid story lines of 1968 thru 1980 were officially over! It was as though the first 10 years of OLTL never existed! Try and find old footage from the first 10 years....Good luck!
This was during a time when OLTL was something special, this time through the 80s and 90s. You knew and liked ALL of the characters. You could get involved with them and their problems. Llanview wasn't overrun with silly teens and their idiotic problems. Llanview just isn't the same anymore.
dereka79 I don't think the teens are silly and I don't think their problems are idiotic. I mean Starr had sex and got pregnant. That is a serious issue.
Their are so many things wrong with OLTL this year though: Nora, Bo and Blair all act like teenagers; Danielle is going nuts and she is only like 14; Starr is finally getting watchable though, the teen drug story sucked and the show is being run over by newbies the KAD story was horrible and then Viki is always left out.
@OLTL100 Dani is 15. :) Nora and Bo aren't acting like teenagers. Blair maybe ROFL! I liked the KAD storyline. Viki's husband is back on the bottle so, Viki has a storyline. Teen drug story? You mean with Cole? I liked that storyline too. His withdrawls were awesome. :)
