  • I also never heard the work "Sneakers" refered to footware until the 1980s. Growing up in LA in the 1960 & 1970s it was "Tennis Shoes" pronunced "Tenna-Shoes"

  • Me 1960-1980 SoCal. 1980-2000 SanFran 2000-2012 SoNH. The bug that curls up - a Sow Bug. A fizzy drink is a Soft-Drink. It's ANT not Aunt. It's APE-ricot, no AP-ricot. Yes, I am learning to adapt to SoNH speak, but I forget often. What I find the most difficult to accept is that weird 2nd R put into words like 'Draw-Ring" or "With drawRal" I have never heard this anywhere but here. Weird.

  • i'm from southern nh - a bug that curls up in a ball when you touch it is a rolly polly
