@doppelwhooper this was a jam for the founding member of the Marshall Tucker Band who died of cancer, he was a good friend of ours and his son Justin hosted the event...the greatest jam I've ever been apart of...10 hours of non stop southern rock!!!

I just found out last night that Artimus was charged with child molestation. I'm such a fan of Skynyrd and I'm usually on top of updates about them but somehow this one got past me. I hope and pray that he didn't do it. He seems like such a loving and caring soul and too kind of a person to be able to do something like this!

I put up the best songs ...and youtube only gives you 10 minutes for each upload....some of the songs went over 10 minutes...not much I can do about that... anyway my hard drive crashed after uploading these so I have to start all over from scratch....you have no idea how hard it was to get 3 different cameras to color match......

yep you're right....I believe that bands justs don't try hard enough anymore...and one thing about Skynyrds music is Ronnie never let a producer get in the way of the sound they wanted.....now adays bands are puppets...producers and the Big 3 have too much say in music now and thats why it is so screwed up... look whats happened to country music...its been devastated by idiot producers and the Big 3 lables.....its not even country music now....

Ok...set me straight on something...(and Im from Lowndes County so Im just tryin to figure it out not be rude) but wasn't Skynyrd from Florida???I mean I appreciate the Muscle Shoals tapes and I hold the music dear to my heart(as every southerner should)but I want to know the history behind the music and lyrics...can you help?

YES! The original line up was from Florida. The muscle shoals tapes are great....good thing they found them....I'm sure there is some more out there somewhere....

Just to be clear, the only two solo's you can really hear clearly on this video are done by the excellent lefty guitarist playing the Strat next JoJO, and and that is Mr. George Festo, who played with Ed King, Artimus Pyle, JoJo Billingsly and Leslie Hawkins, (all original Skynyrd members) in the short lived "Saturday Night Special" band.

I cannot believe people who think Lynyrd Skynyrd is a racist band, and then cite this song for proof. It's such a great song, about pride in heritage as well as everything from honesty to good politics.
