Some good soul can write what Bella says at the beginning of the song? I am not native speakers of English, unfortunately, but I'm completing the translation of Propagandhi's lyrics in italian.
quando hau sei joven, tinan 19, hau sidauk hatene tetum, hau hanoin chanta ne'e kopas la halimar, agora hau comprende mana Isabel nia lifuan, hau gosta tebes liu
como cambio propagandhi en su tercer disco...la verdad q me gustaron mucho sus dos primeros discos pero el tercero ya m oye a furia o enojo...los otros eran para ponerse alegre un poco
omg could you lot detract from the cause at hand with anymore of your pettiness and stupid ego's? whats wrong with asking for information from your peers anway? without the spread of information (by any means) there would be limited highlighting of this cause. maybe next time you can share your knowledge for the sake of a better world rather than riduculing those who know less than you!
Interesting answer. Have you researched the subject yet? My English ability is far from the topic and why does it matter that I'm not a native English speaker? I am trying to help you empower yourself by using a tool like wikipedia(how I improve my English)(Fook you!) or some other reference tool that contains good information. Why do you slander me on my language ability. Where I come from you learn things yourself and dont just rely on others. Stop being a racist and empower yourself.
Hey guy, this songs is about a survivor of the US-backed invastion of East Timor by Indonesia ... The Indonesian occupation of East Timor was, needless to say, awful & genocidal, & the woman this song is about, Isabel Galhos, endured some pretty awful stuff before defecting to Canada where she lives today.
The band wrote this song to highlight her struggle & the fact that the U.S. government gave Indonesia the OK to invade East Timor- a shamful decision on the part of the Ford Administration.
@GeoffreyDinosaurs The invasion was also backed by the UK and both USA and UK also sold Indonesia weapons and equipment, including hawk aircraft from britain, which were used to carry out terror bombing raids.
I think he's pretty much making a commentary about how people in the first world act as though life is great, that all we really have to worry about is getting a job and laid while we drink the days away. He also seems to be saying how he just won't identify with those fratboyish mentalities or racially nationalistic tendencies... that to even walk away in silence without telling an opinion at an awkward moment of conversation just may not be appropriate. Silence equals betrayal
heck this guys now how to make dramatic songs... they now reality is far beyond fiction on that account. Those guys are geniuses when it comes to really thinking politics a virtue few people actually practice tough pretty much everyone think they have.

(In 1994, Bella Galhos risked her life to escape the brutal, 19 year-long military-occupation of her homeland of East
Timor by Western-backed Indonesian forces. We met her in 1997 at a benefit for the East Timor Alert Network, where
the beginning and end of this song were recorded. Learn more about her inspiring story of resistance on our website.)
Go Fuck yourself you ungrateful cunt!
