used to be a good game I played it for like 7 years but they made it so tedious and diffucult to really fight i finally gave it up. I played axis for the whole time as most of the people that played allied seemed to be crying whiners lol.

This video is showing the weak points on the tanks. You could shoot the HEAT grenade at the tank all day, and do absolutely nothing to it, except for these very specific weak points.
As for them exploding, the explosion is a generic animation. It's to show the tank has been completely disabled. IRL, of course it wouldn't always explode.
Graphics? wait for 1.31, in beta right now. Massive, MASSIVE improvement, ragdoll physics, dynamic weather. Still not COD4, but very nice.

If you believe a small high explosive anti-tank grenade would make a heavily armored sturmgeschütz explode with one round as being accurate to in-life physics than you are very much mistaken. Yes, there are accounts of it happening, but not with one round...a few to the tracks or the engine housing, maybe. And like others have said: armored vehicles, including tanks, were always supported by infantry or other smaller vehicles. Get over it.
If they made the graphics like COD4, the framrate would be so bad, it would be unplayable. That's because the maps are almost the actual size of europe. HUGE world... and brilliant gameplay. Graphics are terrible but no ones complaing when they have this much fun

They probably could kill them, but they had to be in fairly close proximity to the tank. In real life tanks almost always have an infantry contingent to protect it from such things. Maybe they couldn't. But mainly in real life the grenade launchers were used against infantry emplacements or light armor from more of a distance.

you have one 'persona' which has different ranks for air/ground/naval, but uses the same name.. also, allies have both french and british personas so it's a tad tougher in the beginning to get ranks as allies (i think.. it's been a while since i was low rank, so things might have changed for all i know)
i used to play a lot but stopped because they take years to get anything done there and theres never any new items anymore. is the bug where you get killed by aircraft MG fire in heavy tanks still in that game?. i would bet it Still is.

Well its fact as afaik. The game is biased . Germans seem to have max 1942 stuff and Allies 1944 stuff, so in my opinion, thats like giving 1 guy a pistol and 1 a rifle and make them shoot eachother from 300m apart.
all 3 'countries' have different RG types.. the brit RG is only good against vehicles (or INF if you get a direct hit like a bullet would).. french and axis get frag grenades.. one explodes on contact and one will bounce off walls.. can't recall which is which.. trust me, there's been many times when i wish i had the frags instead of the HEATs.. i wish they would give both types to all countries, but this isn't a red vs. blue type of game, so that's just how it is
Allied = easymode. axis paper tanks. Allied godmode airquake with 5x more planes than axis. Yet even with 3x the population they still lose almost every campaign.

when i started playing, it was the exact opposite.. axis rolled most maps.. i think it's probably cyclical.. the fact that this game is even still around after 8 years is pretty impressive and shows the loyalty of the players and programmers

you can't have graphics that are all that great due to the size of the map (1/3 scale map of europe i think.. set your infantry person on autowalk and it will keep going for days) and the amount of players all in the same area
And graphics aren't everything, this game has more depth and features than "any" other game I've played. Simulates every part of ww2, and does it very well. Graphics aren't everything and there are plenty subscribers offering up some epic moments.
so, what I hear is 10% allied PB knows how to use it, but isnt that 50% of all axis inf put together? I'm just saying, for your game to work equaly, its unfair for the others to get killed by an infantry weapon, designed to cause harm for Infantry. Its not and wasnt designed for anti-tank purposes, light vehicles yes, but something is not right, if you can kill tanks with it. Who wants to drive the mighty Tiger, if it only takes a RG to burn it??? Would You? Smells a but strange IMO.
The RG was indeed originally designed as Anti-personnel and light vehicle... However, it was used many times in combat to 'track' medium and heavy tanks so the sappers, or air strikes could get in and finish it off
HEAT rounds won't do jack in an anti-personnel mode.. they're essentially shaped charges.. and won't even detonate unless hitting an almost perfectly flat surface.
the tiger can only be killed with an RG if the hatch is open and the tank is still while the RG climbs up on top (if the tank moves at all while that's happening, then the RG will die.. ) i've only managed to kill one tiger and was giddy as hell when i did.. even though i killed myself in the process due to being too close to the impact (point blank pretty much)

you are right, this game SUX, RG never killed or flamed a panzer in RL, I guess its a so called "nerf" to balnace the game. Why does the allied side have tanks at all, if all they had to do is take one of them RG's? a bit of a learning curve, but once you get it it's probably the best game i've ever played.. it just takes a lot of your time.. hook up with a squad to get going and have some help
They actually use complex physics of all weapons & armor to simulate as best as possible to real-world physics for the damage models. If you check out the website, you can find posts showing damage models w/ trajectory charts of angle of penetration, armor thickness, artillery size, distance from target, etc. - it all comes into play significantly. Also note that these shots MUST be PRECISELY targeted to achieve the witnessed results.
that's because i had the angle.. if it kept going then i wouldn't have caught it.. plus, i was going kinda slow on purpose so that i could catch it.. it is a training video, so that's why it seems easy

Ah yes graphics not the best, but we dont play for graphics. B.E. stands so far above all other online games in 2 significant areas:
1-It has THE largest virtual gaming world available: Half-scaled NW Germany-all of Belgium & Lux-SW Neth-NE France-SE England.
2-Superb gameplay. Never the same game twice since the gameworld is perpetual.
Besides, the learning curve is so steep that you might not even be ABLE to play even if you wanted to. They offer periodic free trials so see for yourself.
that's up to you.. i prefer the allies due to being able to have access to more equipment, but you also have to rank up twice as often since brits and french are seperate personas
lol.. if i'm lucky ;-) there are definitely some good stug and pz drivers out there.. i'll even give you a hint to help stay alive once you know you're being chased.. TURN OFTEN.. it's hard to get a flat detonation on a tank that's turning. If you try to flee from a dead stop, you won't have time to get up to speed before i can get a shot off

surely tanks in the ww2 were not fast as today,but i dont think a man with his equipment can run faster as the tank. though this game is realistic(mostly).

This video is showing the weak points on the tanks. You could shoot the HEAT grenade at the tank all day, and do absolutely nothing to it, except for these very specific weak points.
As for them exploding, the explosion is a generic animation. It's to show the tank has been completely disabled. IRL, of course it wouldn't always explode.
Graphics? wait for 1.31, in beta right now. Massive, MASSIVE improvement, ragdoll physics, dynamic weather. Still not COD4, but very nice.

If you believe a small high explosive anti-tank grenade would make a heavily armored sturmgeschütz explode with one round as being accurate to in-life physics than you are very much mistaken. Yes, there are accounts of it happening, but not with one round...a few to the tracks or the engine housing, maybe. And like others have said: armored vehicles, including tanks, were always supported by infantry or other smaller vehicles. Get over it.

If they made the graphics like COD4, the framrate would be so bad, it would be unplayable. That's because the maps are almost the actual size of europe. HUGE world... and brilliant gameplay. Graphics are terrible but no ones complaing when they have this much fun

They probably could kill them, but they had to be in fairly close proximity to the tank. In real life tanks almost always have an infantry contingent to protect it from such things. Maybe they couldn't. But mainly in real life the grenade launchers were used against infantry emplacements or light armor from more of a distance.

Clip in game on terrain or just grief the units its much more fun. crash all their planes and drive tanks into rivers its great as stuff is manufactured and it fucks up the game a treat.
Player base is complete destroyed and the game is one big wank bag

you have one 'persona' which has different ranks for air/ground/naval, but uses the same name.. also, allies have both french and british personas so it's a tad tougher in the beginning to get ranks as allies (i think.. it's been a while since i was low rank, so things might have changed for all i know)

Well its fact as afaik. The game is biased . Germans seem to have max 1942 stuff and Allies 1944 stuff, so in my opinion, thats like giving 1 guy a pistol and 1 a rifle and make them shoot eachother from 300m apart.

all 3 'countries' have different RG types.. the brit RG is only good against vehicles (or INF if you get a direct hit like a bullet would).. french and axis get frag grenades.. one explodes on contact and one will bounce off walls.. can't recall which is which.. trust me, there's been many times when i wish i had the frags instead of the HEATs.. i wish they would give both types to all countries, but this isn't a red vs. blue type of game, so that's just how it is

Allied = easymode. axis paper tanks. Allied godmode airquake with 5x more planes than axis. Yet even with 3x the population they still lose almost every campaign.

when i started playing, it was the exact opposite.. axis rolled most maps.. i think it's probably cyclical.. the fact that this game is even still around after 8 years is pretty impressive and shows the loyalty of the players and programmers

you can't have graphics that are all that great due to the size of the map (1/3 scale map of europe i think.. set your infantry person on autowalk and it will keep going for days) and the amount of players all in the same area

so, what I hear is 10% allied PB knows how to use it, but isnt that 50% of all axis inf put together? I'm just saying, for your game to work equaly, its unfair for the others to get killed by an infantry weapon, designed to cause harm for Infantry. Its not and wasnt designed for anti-tank purposes, light vehicles yes, but something is not right, if you can kill tanks with it. Who wants to drive the mighty Tiger, if it only takes a RG to burn it??? Would You? Smells a but strange IMO.

The RG was indeed originally designed as Anti-personnel and light vehicle... However, it was used many times in combat to 'track' medium and heavy tanks so the sappers, or air strikes could get in and finish it off

HEAT rounds won't do jack in an anti-personnel mode.. they're essentially shaped charges.. and won't even detonate unless hitting an almost perfectly flat surface.

the tiger can only be killed with an RG if the hatch is open and the tank is still while the RG climbs up on top (if the tank moves at all while that's happening, then the RG will die.. ) i've only managed to kill one tiger and was giddy as hell when i did.. even though i killed myself in the process due to being too close to the impact (point blank pretty much)

you are right, this game SUX, RG never killed or flamed a panzer in RL, I guess its a so called "nerf" to balnace the game. Why does the allied side have tanks at all, if all they had to do is take one of them RG's? Goes beond my beleif.....Funny though, I bet the German side unsubs faster if that nerf isnt fixed......has it? this vid is 2006, is it still same?

They actually use complex physics of all weapons & armor to simulate as best as possible to real-world physics for the damage models. If you check out the website, you can find posts showing damage models w/ trajectory charts of angle of penetration, armor thickness, artillery size, distance from target, etc. - it all comes into play significantly. Also note that these shots MUST be PRECISELY targeted to achieve the witnessed results.

HEAT stands for High Explosive Anti Tank
essentially it penetrates a bit and then explodes afterwards in a shape charge that penetrates inside instead of exploding on contact

Ah yes graphics not the best, but we dont play for graphics. B.E. stands so far above all other online games in 2 significant areas:
1-It has THE largest virtual gaming world available: Half-scaled NW Germany-all of Belgium & Lux-SW Neth-NE France-SE England.
2-Superb gameplay. Never the same game twice since the gameworld is perpetual.
Besides, the learning curve is so steep that you might not even be ABLE to play even if you wanted to. They offer periodic free trials so see for yourself.

lol.. if i'm lucky ;-) there are definitely some good stug and pz drivers out there.. i'll even give you a hint to help stay alive once you know you're being chased.. TURN OFTEN.. it's hard to get a flat detonation on a tank that's turning. If you try to flee from a dead stop, you won't have time to get up to speed before i can get a shot off
