Seems to me, judging by the presence of guys like the Dirty White Boy, Tracey Smothers, the Armstrongs, and Dr. Tom Prichard, in addition to the use of a 'US Junior Heavyweight' title, that Smoky Mountain was basically a continuation of the northern portion of the old Southeast Championship Wrestling, aka the Continental Wrestling Federation.

One thing in this clip that is evident. Jim Cornette was a ring psychology genius as a manager. He really knew how to sell and milk a situation to get more heat.

I live in West Tennesse and was never able to see Smoky Mountain Wrestling.Too bad it looks a lot like Memphis wrestling. SOUTHERN WRASSLIN RULES!
