I have the dare and love it but in this world of smartphones, I'm craving a single step up. Lg cosmos touch? Env touch? Microsoft Kin TWOm?

@boruken The problem is that because most everyone are moving towards smartphones, the "dumb" phone market has really dropped. You would have to tell me what you mean by "single step up." There are Android, Blackberry, and iPhone smartphones to choose from. Do some research to find out what features you're looking for. I went from Dare to BB Storm 2 (discontinued, now BB Torch).

@boruken That will depend upon what features are important to you. Non-smartphones are a smaller market now that smartphones are more readily available. The LG EnV series are really good messenger phones and they're compact. I had an LG Env2, but you should be able to get an EnV3.

@TheTekkenTech1 It's not the capactive touch screen of the iPhone, but it works well. Both phones have the ability to listen to music while you do other things (no calling).

If you can get the enV Touch for a good price, I might go that direction. It's a newer version of LG OS with a full keyboard. If you can do without a keyboard, then the Dare is right for you.

hey, i have tried two callibrations, and the one that i found was the most effective is to turn the phone sideways, and use your right thumb to hit the dots on the right and ur left thumb to hit the dots on the left. it works a lot better for texting :)

yes, go to the envelope icon, this will bring you to your inbox, go to the icon on the far right (rectangle with a bunch of horizontal lines..) then go to settings.. then scroll down to signature..

I did get a dare again and again like 3 times over and still have the audio player proble. try it in hip hop mode with the audio player listening io it with headphones or in your car. its screwed. the phone resets when i hit accept when im on yahoo messenger sometime for no reason. dis phone has problems still with the lates software. oh and it lags. sometimes im done typing and its stiil typing forever after im done! I still like the phone though..

i know you might not know, but do you know if verizon or sprint is gonna come out with a phone JUST like the samsung rogue, but withOUT a physical board so its just touch screen.

Samsung Omnia II is probably the closest to the Rogue, for Verizon. It's a smartphone, unlike the Rogue. The HTC Touch Diamond2 is the newest touchscreen coming soon to Sprint, otherwise either a Samsung Instinct HD or S30 would be your best bet.

Anything thin object is more accurate. You can try a straight pin, but you could scratch your screen with it.

dudes i just when swimming with my dare and after using a hair dryer on it works fine exept for water marks on the inside of the screen. IM SO LUCKY CUZ I WAS SO SCARED

While you're incredibly lucky, I would not recommend this method. Direct heat can warp or damage your phone. I've seen it happen to an LG Voyager, melted the chip on the inside. I would immediately take out the battery, and place the phone in a bowl full of rice. The rice will act like a desiccator and remove all moisture in your phone

Hey. Good video. You are right about the texting stuff. I personally like having the vibrate on low and single but thats just me. I noticed though when you text in a pic message to like 500 letters it starts to get REALLY laggy. I was just wondering if there is a way to fix that too. Ohhh i almost forgot. It's not horrible. Like everything else, it takes getting used to. I text better on the Dare than any QWERTY board. You just have to tap the keys, QWERTY board you have to press down on them.

i did get another phone from verizon and it sitll does it. first thing u do is choose a song press play and then choose the hip hop setting. the music should now be distorted. next press the back button to replay the song and now its not distorted. to get it back dostorted jus take the aux jack out and plug it back in the phone and it should be distorted now...

do you have any idea on whats wrong with the lg dare when playing music? i think there is a proble with the software. the next time u r listening to music play a song . when u r playing the song change it to another song then back to the song u r playing. the song is now lower with less bass. next unplugh your headphones and plug it back in. now its back louder with more bass. you can really hear the difference more if u have it in the hip hop setting. its sounds really distorted

Ask your parents to put you as the main number and you can get a new phone every 12 months thats what i do and i like it like that and you get 50 bucks off and then the rebate that somes with it. I'm getting this phone in xactly a month but htey just came out with the Env3 and envTouch you might want to check those out too.

Just wanted to add that the pen trick with the calibrating works VERY well. I used to "fat finger" like crazy but after using a pen to calibrate, I don't anymore. Great tip!

open the music player on the phone and when you have it playing to your liking then press the bottem button on the phone to get back to the menu and set the app to the backround. the music will play even when your lock thephone and the screen turns off.
