  • The power, the speed, precision... Truly make this Sensei world renowned. A joy to watch. Ossu :-)

  • @MultiZON123 - If you get a chance, train with the man. Very good technician & very good teacher. Despite not being great with English, his speciality is the mime of what he saw people do & he's damn good at it. Next he offers the solution to your problem with how to fix.

  • fukin love it!

  • @mymyharlow was really easy for me to learn same with the the other 2 tekki ni and san

  • I used 2 watch tis video before doing kata

    Great coach ;)

  • This is not Kata Tekki shodan this is Nainchi idiot

  • @aa45s its a Tekki......

  • OSS.For Sen OSAKA JKA ...

  • wish me luck im turning brown belt today 'Khia'

  • @TheMediaKnights, i'm going to take my exam this coming sept. 1 month to go to practice this deadly kata....osu!

  • did i say this guy is awsome?

  • OMG THIS IS MY KATA AT THE MOMENT

oh and mymyharlow i agree its really hard to keep to keep in the stance

all in all its kinda short but requires you to show deep stances and alot of spirit

  • ITS diffrent our kata is block and punch aw they r diffrent I know we're shito-ryu JKO cavite city

  • can't wait to tell my sampai that iam learning kata from youtube!! ty m8

  • YouTube has been my secret weapon since I discovered as a white belt that I don't get enough "ice time" to learn my katas in class alone. Although you must always seek out details from your sensei, you can see variability from body forms, styles and slight modifications by watching different karate'ka on YouTube.

Kanazawa videos from the 70s are my personal favorites. Osu!

  • @HerbicidalManiac you are stupid. I teach karate and you would be my least favorite student. I have made people like you quit before, and I hope that is what your sensei does to you.

  • @valdezmiguel2 HAHAHA! That comment is 2 years old! If your karate timing is as good as your YouTube timing, then you have just confirmed your karate is about as "bright" as the rest of you. Chump. No "Ossu" for you!

  • @HerbicidalManiac you're a retard.

  • you'd better not XD

  • i think you don't even know what style of karate you practice ... it's different even from shotokan to shotokan much more from goju'ryu, wado-ryu, kyokushinkay! I have been practicing modern shotokan for 4-5 months now. I have been doing this kata since i first stepped foot in that dojo and i can say THIS GUY IS AWESOME! Watch Kanazawa too..awesome..So kid go tell your sensei what you wrote here and ask him politely to KICK YOU in the nuts! HARD!

  • This guy is awesome!

  • thanks a lot..great teacher and master!!from italy

  • Wow i cant wait to learn this Kata i have just recently learned Bassai Dai and Kanku Dai so Tekki seams promising enough to learn

  • Agreed. Sensei keeps going back to the Heian katas. Last week, Nidan was dissected to an exacting degree. I've seen so many black belts who have seem to have forgotten how to do the Heian katas properly...

  • goddamn that's nice..when i watch this, i can't help but think "man, i really suck"

  • Suck diminishes with training. Keep training with a traditional teacher with a known link to true karate, don't worry about rank, focus on bunkai especially against weapons, ignore your ego and do not do sports kumite. You will be fine and do well with time.

  • Those Tekki katas are really funny. step to the left, step to the right, step to the left and so on.

I think this guy performs it almost perfect. Though his kiai sounds a bit strange...well, I actually can't jugde him.

  • The belief is that they were developed by fishermen who were karate-ka and they practiced along the line of the keel of the boat. They are used in the Shotokan ryu to train kiba dachi, core strength and upper body technique. May I congratulate you on your honest and positive comment. Criticism that has no experience base is so boring.

  • The man performs the Kata very well. This is one of my favorite Kata besides Jion and Enpi

  • hej maryangel..

yeah that s right... cause the higher the dan grades are the less it is important to stand long .... other values are more important then....

    ossssuu

  • I've got my brown belt grading this sunday, hopefully I can perform the kata as well as this!

  • Good performance ;)

  • I had the honor of sitting down with Osaka Sensei; watching this video. There is nothing like it! Getting to hear stories about the video.

  • Hey please tell us more about what Osaka Sensei said :-)

  • Dont leave us hanging like that!

  • Ah, sorry. Well, I passed and now I've got Bassai Dai to consider. P.s Thanks for asking!

  • My god......Perfect kata. What a beautiful movement and powerful technique. OSU~!!!! *from Kyokushin Sensei.

  • i think he performed perfectly as well, but how come his "stances" are rather short? we learned to go really down when doing kiba-dachi :/ and to "lenghten" the whole stance..

  • hej maryangel..

yeah that s right... cause the higher the dan grades are the less it is important to stand long .... other values are more important then....

    ossssuu

  • oh okay. well we can see it the way he performs it. it looks beautiful :)

    anyway, thx for explaining.

    have a nice day. osu!

  • yeah it does...!!

actually the okinawan style is usually with higher stances than the main japanese or other styles... cause they needed the power and flexibility of the hips and hara and so the stances should be higher as well..

    cya and ossu
