Lol oh my ! number 6 sound like im going to kill in spanish haha i was saying that to my friends and my Mexican friend was freaking out and she told me why now she all defense on me now :d
Instead of the creepy voice saying "ONE... TWOOOOO.. THREEEEE...." wouldn't it be more useful if he said the English translation of all the phrases? Annoying AND useless. Geez.
I said Odajini to a Japanese friend of mine and he told me that it's not said to people as how we English people say 'Take care of yourself' when saying bye. He said that it's just said to a person who's ill
how does 'gambatte' have a stand alone 'm' without a vowel following it? i thought the 'n' was the only consonant sound without a spoken or whispered vowel attached...
I knew most of them already, I picked them up when watching too much anime. There were some I didn't know so I thank you for that. My Vocab is growing!
I've been learning japanese for a couple of months now and I'm very good at it, Just now I tried learning korean for a joke to see if i could and now it's stuck in my head!!!
isn't it ganbatte, with an "n"? also, is ganbatte kudasai a more polite way of saying good luck, instead of just saying ganbatte? and another thing (sorry) does ganbatte also mean do your best?
Written, Gambatte does have an "N" but it sounds more like an "M" so people write it with an "M" in romaji. Gambatte kudasai means please do your best. Gambatte is an abbreviation. Lol. Its fine dw. Yes Gambatte also means do your best, in fact thats the real translation. People just use it like Good luck. Hope I could help. :D

HesDaryl 9 months ago
@tom101942 It's means 'Is it good?'. Directly translated as 'Good is it?'

@MsNocreativity
It is...but the sound that comes out sounds more like an m. So it's usually written with an 'm' in roman letters.

@SerasxAlucard Yeah, the are quite formal. But it's probably better to learn how to use formal expressions first if you get what I mean.

tom101942 1 year ago
why is it that the u on some of the words is never pronounced? 19 for example
DJStry 1 year ago
I guess it's just the way the words have slipped into everyday pronounciation. For example: Hanashimasu (to talk) is pronounced: Hanashimas.
