  • @JacobsAquarium same question.

  • is there any other way to sex an angelfish than look at the papilla

  • Love this video. Where can I find part 2. My angel fish just had babies 4 the first time and the eggs already have a little tail. I'm so excited.

  • my angelfish spawned and about a month or so after the fry hatched the mother died. I have heard that they tend to mate for life so if I get my male angelfish another female will they not spawn? Please help. He seems lonely :(

  • How meny Angelfish could i keep in a 10 gallon tank how big of a tank would i need to fit at least 3...

  • amazing video.

  • I used to think that Angelfish were just a "poor man's discus" but now I am convinced that these are truly beautiful creatures and I have now decided to set up a new tank to breed these fish!

Thank you so much for the video, I'll refer to it often in the upcoming months.

    Cheers.

  • @capsaicinrain i aint poor bitch!

  • hey youtubers... can any of y'all reply to this! well i added 2 new angelfish probably 1 and 1/2 inches and they seem to be hiding in the corner. should i be worried NONE of them are being bullied though

  • amazing video thank you so much i have been talking to bensaquarium and i am highly thinking of breeding some angelfish my dad bread then for about 10 years when he was 13 he started my age he told me if i succeed hed go into the buisness with me :)

  • you rock!

  • My angelfish recently spawned. It's Day 2 and most of the eggs have turned white. I can't tell if the male is actually a female or not... The definite female has a larger Papilla, but the 'male's' is also 'tubular.' However, it's not as big. I've heard of females spawning and another will act like the male... But the 'male' was definitely more aggressive when it came to the other fish though. Could it just be inexperience? Somebody help!

  • awesome video!!!!!

  • owsum

  • Great video thanks helped a lot

  • great work!! you are very requested here!!

    I have a question too...

Like the beginning of your video my angel laid egg on the filter of my main tank...

Should I take the intake tube out to a separated aquarium (already setup and running) or leave it there and hope the parents will take care of them and don't let them get into the filter?

  • @nuggetwetyou might just be your angels because mine had there first batch unfertile but after that they always have been except for a few so you may have a pair that isnt sure about the tank itself tankmate wise

  • did you switch tanks to feed the fry if you did how without injuring

  • Hi Jazzy,

    Great video!

I need your help. My angel egg s are hatching. I turned off my filter and left light on. my tank water became so dirty that look green. I can't change the water in big amount for fries might die but the other hand water is getting more green and green, small round white and black insects are grown too. Any advice? Can I put algae eater in the tank? Would they eat angel fries? Thanks.

  • Go check out my youtube subscribe Im uploading videos Constantly about updates and other things!

  • will i be able to introduce angels into my tank or will i have to buy a new one, my tank is 40 gallons and currently has 2 kuhli loaches, 2 neon tetras, a copper catfish(i think thats what theyre called) a huge pleco, 3 zebra dainos and 1 long fin daino- SOMEONE PLEASE REPLY :)

  • @xx575564xx I think they'd be okay in that tank. The only thing I'm not sure will get along with the angelfish is the copper catfish (I've never owned one so I don't know if it get along)

  • @justyousee1 Hmm , the copper catfish is a small bottom feeder, he looks and is harmless..

  • hey i dont live in the USA and two of my angel fish laid eggs today...i dont have access to brine shrimp...what other food can i give the young when they hatch

  • @wadadlli crushed flake food : )

  • Great vid. I am getting yet another tank to breed angelfish in.

  • Nice that helped alot! Check out my wrigglers!

  • Can i transfer the eggs to a small breading hatchary?

  • Hey man, this is a great documentry! Thanks! Just one question, can you keep plecostomus Algae eaters with the angels while they are breeding and when the fry hatch?

  • your vid is a little sketchy but great vid I really want angelfish now

  • @nuggetwetyou eggs are white because there not fertile

  • @burninrubber390 thanks, i understand that but this pair always acts in this way? lays one batch which always turns bad, then 2 days later they clean up alll the eggs, and lay new eggs all of which hatch? do they do this because there testing if the waters fine or soemthing? this pair of mine in particular ALWAYS do this 'test batch' before they decide to take care of it.

  • this video is awesome. my angels started breeding and this pair has been very careful of thier eggs. can you explain why my angels layed a large batch of eggs, wich all turned white the next day. on that following day she layed more eggs and then all those eggs are now wrigglers? was the first batch a test batch or something? thanks

  • I love angelfish, have a pair in my tank. They are so fun to watch.

    Great vid

  • how many tanks total did you use?and when u seperated the adults from the fry can you put them back into the normal main tank instead?

  • I have a school of fry in a community tank and it is about 4 days since they became free swimming. Other fish in 55 gal include 1Plecostomus, 3 Clown Loaches, 6 other adult Angels, 12 Cardinal Tetra and 1 Black Ghost Knife. Parents have so far successfully kept almost all fry alive. Feeding 1st bites and no real water changes in heavily planted tank. I do not turn out lights on fry side as parents seem not to be able to protect when lights go out. Will see what happens. So far so good.

  • Great Video, Very well done! keep em coming!

  • @Namefriek white eggs means they were not fertilized by the male angelfish.

  • im breeding my angels but some of the eggs are turning white... why?

  • YO DUDE THIS WUZ A AWSOME VIDEO I FOLLOWED IT TO THE T AND NOW I HAVE ABOUT 1500 ANGEL BABYS... KEEP UP THE SUPER WORK !!!!!!

  • This world map is confusing!

  • what Im going use the food..?

  • I need your answer pls .. my Angelfish has laid her eggs today now we had visited all the pet shops then they are not selling some BRINE SHRIMP EGGS!!! pls and im in the Philippines and we can't order at amazon.com or ebay.com...PLEASE REPLY my little babies will gonna die.... :'(

  • @MrNeoboyz

Ok, don't panic. I have had some success with the Hikari First Bites food this time around - you will need to RELIGIOUSLY siphon out all the excess after EACH feeding.... lots of work, I know, but they'll die otherwise. If you don't have the First Bites food, then I would recommend that you crush ordinary flakes to a powder - REALLY fine. Suspend this powder in water, and use a dropper to put it slowly into the tank. Turn off your filter and let them eat for about 20-30 mins

  • @MrNeoboyz

Make sure they are swimming around actively before you feed them - they really don't eat until then.

  • Thanks you for this wonderful video. It helped me tremedously

  • What else can i feed my babies if i dont have brine shrimp eggs

  • 5 fuck!ng people does not understand this video!!! $#!+

  • this is the best "documentary" video about angelfishes i have ever seen.... thumbs up if you agree...

  • when you feed the fry with brine shrimp, is the salty water ok around them? thanks

  • Great effort! this video has helped me and my angels sooo much! keep up the good work!

  • good ambition to help others. I admire your effort

  • i have a tank that is 36 cm in height 60 cm in length 31 cm in width.

how many angelfish can i keep in this tank. its a 20 gallon and i have a filter on it with a bio wheel made for a 50 gallon tank. please respond. thanks

  • @westdallasbutterfly you can keep one adult pair and thats about it if you want a community get a 55-60 and that filter is fine, you normally get a stronger filter anyway, but if you get a pair be prepared for fry

  • Can you please anwser this.... Ok so my first question is if the female was pregnant would it be safe to move her to a different tank? And second how long will the female be pregnant?

  • @mega23man

Yes, it is safe to move the female - but you have to put the male in with her, as he will only fertilize the eggs when she lays them. Bear in mind, though, that moving them to a new tank may upset them so that they won't lay - or will eat the newly laid eggs. Also bear in mind that they may eat several clutches of eggs before eventually starting to properly raise them.

  • Are you Australian? YEY! I love OZZIES!

  • could you add a air pump while breeding or would it kill anything, and do you feed the angel fish while breeding them? plz tell me asap thanks

  • could you add a air pump while breeding or would it kill anything, and do you feed the angel fish while breeding them?

  • could you add a air pump while breeding or would it kill anything

  • A good video but where is part two

  • What is the best way to move fry that have been free swimming for about a week to a different tank. Thanks

  • can angel fish fry can eat crushed/powdered food if brine shrimp is not available???

  • @khaizzherre

I raised a clutch on "first bites" food (I think it's a Hikari brand product). That said, live food is preferrable, but I don't really have the time or space to do the brine shrimp thing....

  • I used Hikari First Bites to raise my first clutch - brine shrimp didn't hatch well, and my tinymites were starving - and First Bites is essentially just really finely crushed flakes, so I'd say yes. You'll need to clean up whatever falls to the bottom after each feed (as much as possible), and turn off the filter while they feed (don't forget to turn it back on after!)

  • Do we really need to use a filter?

  • @Gualbert101197

If you want healthy fish, then yes - the only exception might be for the eggs if you're not letting the parents look after them. Once they start producing waste, and eating food, then you definitely need a filter.

  • @trinimumz which is which? underground filter, internal filter, external filter? what is the "most" useful?

  • @Gualbert101197

I find that the hang-on filters do a better job than the sponge filters, and are easier to clean without disturbing the fish. But you need to make them fry-safe (and this video tells you how)

  • @trinimumz can i also use a bowl type aquarium?

  • I have got this fish

  • i got my 4 angelfish today, i hope i get a breeding pair, i would have terrible luck if i were in the 22.5 percent that didnt get a breeding pair with the 4 angels...lol, but i want to start this, by the way, what other things can i give them as food? And wich gender should be predominate?

  • Do you know at what age they are mature enough to breed? and what do you think would be a good diet for the adult angels?

  • WOW, One Of The Most INFORMATIVE And OUTSTANDING Videos On You Tube !

Keep Up The EXCELLENT Work, and GOOD LUCK Breeding !

    THANKS For SHARING !

  • my angelfish just laid eggs but she does not have a male (she is alone right now and she prefers it believe me)

are they like chickens that can lay eggs without a male?

Please answer I need it cause i'm kind of freakin out here!

  • @animara1423

Female angels lay eggs, and the males fertilize them after they're laid - so, yes, they can lay eggs without a male. The eggs will, however, be unfertilized, and not develop. They'll turn white in a day or two (if she doesn't eat them), and rot.

  • how can u tell when they are about to lay the eggs

  • @Adam141516

The female fish will sometimes look bloated (with eggs) - but not always. You'll see the pair of them obsessively cleaning the area they want to lay the eggs though - that's your best indication.

  • there so cute

  • hi i have a pair of angels they are fine together but when it comes to breeding they do all the normal mating behaviour then the female lays the eggs and instead of the male fertilizeing them he eats the eggs so what should i do.

  • where do you cell the angel fish

  • Can you feed them somthing else instead of brine shrimpp

  • @bwrightab2310

Google it but Brime Shrimp is the best. Currently my local Fish shop is selling already hatched adult Brime Shrimps.

Also my Angelfish eggs are ready to hatch on Christmas Day or Boxing Day.

  • @sorryunlucky Ya but after you already buy the live ones , do you have to keep them movin or keep them in the bag

Im talking about brine shrimp. My petstore also sells live.

  • How do you alter your ph of your water, for ideal breeding environments?

  • Just wanted to thank you for the effort you put in to these videos.

I had my first spawing two weeks ago. Unfortunaly all the fry were gone by day 11. I was feeding frozen BBS at the time as i did not have any live ones as i was caught offguard by the hatching.

The parents spawned again two days ago and i have seperated the eggs this time to try and rear without the parents. Also have fresh BBS hatching so should be more successful this time arround.

  • Hello again. Im very Interested to watch your video.... Last question....... I'm in the Philippines. It is suitable to use heater or not..... LOL. we are near in the equator...Shall I use it or not........ Pls reply-Lakandulay

  • Hello... I really love to breed angelfishes, can a 30 gallon aquarium is suitable for breeding a pair of angelfish????? I wish it could be... One question... can I put methylene blue on the aquarium when it lays eggs??? the container says "removes fungus on eggs" can this be safe for breeding eggs of angelfish? Thanks please reply to me..... -Lakandulay

PS. My real name is Hernando Pacino....

  • Should you have more male or female angelfish?

  • @iJacksFishTanks

You need one male to one female. They pair off - and they will select their own partner if given the choice.... and beat everyone else up

  • @iJacksFishTanks Female

  • Just had a pair of Angels spawn approximately 400 eggs. Thank you for the video. Not sure how I am going to approach this but am excited about the possibility of having this amazing work of mother nature unfold before me

  • hai i am karthick. i have been a great lover of angel and swordtail fish. after seeing your angel documentary i tried to breed my angel fish but i failed at saving the fries because i didn't have the neccesary live food like brime shirmp or something. i tried various artificial food like boiled egg yolk. i am living in india so i can't get any pet shop help. so i request you to post all you know about angelfish and swordtail fish. you have an excellent documentation skill.

  • Can anyone tell me what fish arent good in the tank with angelfish?

  • @iJacksFishTanks

When breeding, all fish are bad in the tank. The angel pair will aggressively defend the eggs and hatchlings, but eventually may become so agitated that they eat their young (mine got agitated seeing the loaches I had in a tank next door to theirs, so I had to put a screen).... so if breeding, you can only have the angelfish pair in there. Otherwise, any fish that is very aggressive is not a good companion - and any fish that is small enough to become dinner is also a no-no

  • Hello Jerry,

I live in India. Breeding angel is possible in India?

  • Wow this was great.Great job with the music too.Imofficialy convinced too breed them.

  • can you make a vid of breeding other fishes instead of neon tetras and angels?

  • Fantastic video... keep them coming

  • Hello! Thank you for this wonderful video, i am also a big fan of this beautiful angels. But lately i am having some problems, with disease known as white spots :(( Do, you maybe have some experience or professional advice about how to cure them?

    Thank you in advance!

  • HI.

can tell me someone how degree needs angelfish

or other fish.. guppies goldfish bettafish.!!?

  • @MrGylany as far as i know, (i keep angelfish also) they need temperature between 26 and 29 degrees. Guppies and goldfish can easily adapt to any temperature.

  • i feed my angels live food in a varied diet and they just spontanliously breed i dun want the fry tough :S

  • Hi there, I need your help could I seperate ALL my fish from the eggs including the parents? If I did would the eggs be broken or anything?

  • 1:35 i really love how smaller angels look :D

8:42 my angelfish show the same kind of speckling around its body. also, if you look above the eye, there's a black mark there that doesn't seem to go with the stripes. both the speckles on the black mark weren't on my angelfish when i first got them around dime size, but appeared after a few months. just wondering if anyone can comment on this.

btw, great video so far :)

  • i love this video simple and informative

  • Great video. Thank you very much.

  • Fantastic video you've made, friend! Can you tell me why my four angels are laying eggs on the same leaf? An explaination would be greatly appreciated!

  • very nice

  • do u have to feed them brine shrimp or can u use liquid fry food

  • my angles started spawning today i just woke up i fed em an i saw alot of eggs i was exited but since i have a big tank and i dont wank to risk the eating the babies so i just mad a screen do divide them frome the main tank

thanks jazzy for your vids very informational

  • i'm sorry for my question......i have a couple of angelfish that they made eggs every 13 days.....the problem is that both of angelfish eat every egg everytime ....i don't know what i have to do...please help me!

  • Even as someone who has bred a number of different cichlids , I found this video very helpful when I decided to breed angelfish. A truly great Job.

  • Love your video. It's not nearly as easy as it looks! I am on my 4th hatch now. I got the brine shrimp raising part down this time just in time for the rest of the fry from the 3rd hatch to die on me. Anyone need MILLIONS of live baby brine shrimp? he he I will keep trying and thanks for the great info.. my videos are at stephenramsden(dot)com

  • Hi there I have a 36 gallon bow fishtank and I was woundering if this tank size is enough to keep angelfish? not to breed but to keep as a pet and if so how many. I am aware of the diffrent breeds of angel fish I am thinking of keeping a zebra or marble maby koi angle fish. not the altums I know they get too big and are really difficult to keep but the common angel fish I have no idea if my tank is good enough in size thanks

  • I need your help please. My angle fish layed eggs and it was time to clean the tank. Can I change the water or not. And should I move the other species of fishes from the tank and place it to another tank or leave them where they are?

  • @zerounite Clean the tank by all means, but only take out 5-10% of the total water per day. So clean it over 3 days taking a total of 15-25% water.

  • @Jazzy78910 thankyou for the reply.

  • @Jazzy78910 hi i have a pair of angels one has started to lay eggs (female) and the other (male) dosn't fertilize them but eats them. what should i do

  • @Jazzy78910 hey, how do i know if an angel is pregnant so i can put them in the breeding tank, sorry for so much questions.
