  • Why oh why did Lars just stop practicing? He was so good and now just goes through the motions not really even caring if he is on time.

  • @wtfjaftw Lol, Triggers can sound just like a real bass drum. It's just people choose not to.

  • Lars seems so consistent and hardcore at the same time in this.. never thought he could achieve perfect sync with those two factors. that was pretty intense i must say.. Lars just took a big ass step up on my consideration! thanks for uploading and congrats on isolating the drum track.. most appreciated!

  • I was so impressed by this a couple of years ago when I first heard this song. But now when I hear metalcore drummers playing 280BPM this lost it's value :/

  • @sebastianjwalker they cheat by using triggers.

  • @metalmike83 Lol I bet you don't even know how triggers work

  • @sebastianjwalker Sounds like to you, the quality of the song = BPM.

  • @dante4d No I'm saying how impressive the speed is = BPM.

  • I still find it amazing that such a little man from Denmark is capable of rocking it this hard. keep dominating Lars!

  • HEY SOMEONE TELL ME PLEASE WHAT PROGRAM CAN I USE TO DO THIS? I NEED PLEASE TELL ME... I NEED TO MAKE DRUM TRACKS

  • @abdielfromhell download ez drummer, get midi notes from guitar pro, export midi and import to ez drummer track in cubase or fl studio 9

  • @abdielfromhell You can't do this with any program, this is the original master track...

  • which program do you use to divide the song track? (sorry if my english sucks)

  • Man, you have no idea how I think is soooo mind blowing the transition at 5:00, the change at the bass drum rythm make a complete new progress to the riff

  • plz put up any trivium songs

  • no one can listen to this and say lars can't drum

  • @JLLproductions Agreed. and to think that this was also written/recorded in 1985 when there were minimal drummers doing rapid fire double bass triplets.....

  • drums in spanish is BATERIA.... bateria=battery

  • @DrummerPortwo ja ja no me habia percatado de eso

  • i fear his right hand, its impossible that he didnt already suffered from tendinitis or cramps, its that non stopping thing xD it hurts when i try =[

  • HOW THE FUCK CAN LARS PLAY THIS WITHOUT MAKING HIS LEGS BLOW UP!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

  • Love Metallica but this sounds like a super fast Polka beat :)

  • this is to Videoleks....... your mom shouldve swallowed you. If it wasnt for Lars, Alot of bands here today WOULDNT be - if it Wernt for Lars. Fuck You. your mom rules.

  • I love Metallica... but these men are some fugly sum'bitches in this pic. No wonder MTV didn't give them the time of day back then.

  • @hitman036 its because mtv are a bunch of fags

  • holy shit, that intro

  • It's awesome to hear the drums by themselves. Lar's feet are a-movin'! I think his drumming on the Puppets album was the most intricate and complex, in my opinion.

  • @Nickhead87 no way AJFA is way more complex... try playing Shortest Straw, that drum part sounds easy but it's complex as fuck it's definately one of the hardest to play.

  • @rocafella142

Yeah, Straw is definitely a crazy one, but the rest of the album seems to contain simpler beats. Then again, I'm gonna have to go back and listen to it all again.

  • Wtf. Such posers. Although my name implies that I like Megadeth, Metallica is still number 2. Anyways, back on topic. Mr. Sleepwalker Mustaine did not write this. Here is the material Mustaine has credit on-

Kill 'Em All: The Four Horsemen, Jump In the Fire, Phantom Lord, Metal Militia

Ride the Lightning: Title track, The Call of Ktulu.

    THATS IT.

  • @Megadethfan889999 its okay if you like one of them or both just as long as you don't insult the other

  • it's funny cause you can tell he is struggling with the double bass on this but on the real song it soun ds perfect, lars :)

  • Ppl say Lars sucks cause he's slow, but he and metallica invented speed metal. Today every band has faster drummers, but compare metallica to any band of the 80's and see, the were the fastest mofos!

  • @locoawise actually sir... you need to go back an look up morbid angle

    ....

metallica was good but there are wayyyy more bands from the 80s that are heavier an faster. besides slayer megadeth an metallica

    hahaha

  • @bsrob1 fight fire w fire/dyers eve. suck it

  • @bsrob1

Heavier & faster doesn't necessarily mean better

  • @imisterchris no. But Metallica was not ahead of their time by any means. They are good but its a lot of wash rinse repeat. I own every album. Not saying there bad just saying for the date an time no they weren't the heaviest. I use to think lars was the BEST in general until i started listening to something other than metallica. George Kollias , Roddy, Barker, an more at just incredible at double bass. An no i don't think double bass should be the length of a song...

  • @bsrob1 Lars, James, Kirk and Rob/Cliff/Jason were never the best individually. Together, however, they've made some of the best music metal music in history, regardless of ability and technical complexity.

  • Double Bass Eargasm At 3:50!

  • Lars is a very limited drummer, but he is a vital piece of an amazing band.

  • @tubelux90 agreed.without lars it just wouldnt be metallica...

  • It starts at 0:42

  • lars doesnit kno drums i respect metallica and is of my favorite bands but i dont say that they are all good

  • I love that really deep sound in the toms

  • James ha fatto un cuore..sulla sua cintura

  • 3:50 OMG FASTER

  • I hate fags that think double bass should be the full length of the song

  • @Mafia2223 they should try doing themselves haha

  • @Mafia2223

i hate CHILDREN who call others names who have no clue about SHIT !

  • 3:50

The part you want to hea

  • OMG it doesn´t sound like lars Haha he was a very tight drummer

  • LARS HAS KEPT THE BAND 2GETHER BUT HE IS NO BETTER THAN THE OTHER MEMBERS

  • cliff has so fucking fluffy and nice hair

  • @beatniksen

    *had

  • @jrockfanboy240 im stil not aware of his dead

back then i was young but iwas already a big metallica fan

  • 3 ppl missed the like button

  • Qui si che Lars poteva essere definito "batterista"!

  • Ah the leather. :)

  • Am I the only one thinking the first verse sounds sloppy?

  • @Bollehamsteren If he can be sloppy and still sound legendary all the more power to him lol

  • Lars's style is unique.

  • @Videoleks Hardly. How many thrash drummers have you ever heard? He wasn't new or anything by doing double-bass, his fills are nothing BIll Ward hadn't done a decade before. He's basically a lesser Dave Lombardo.

  • @antonio610 nice one man thank you

Bill Ward was a great drummer often over looked

check out fairys were boots in paris 1970 i think

  • @Videoleks his style is perfect for thrash metal

  • @Videoleks lars fucking sux compared to the other thrash drummers

  • @logstrain But most of those drummers you refer to have learnt a fucking lot from Lars, bitch.

  • @DownBYOB yeah because lars has such an unique technique that he is an inspiration for all drummers around the world, dumbass

  • @logstrain Then WTF is the problem here? Since Lars has been the inspiration for many of your so-called better drummers, he is above them all. You can't compare him to the nowadays ones like Portnoy or Trivium's, what the hell. He's unique as he has unique style and quite invented thrash drumming style, so don't mix him up with other guys who just "improve" it their way.

  • badass tone and feel...

  • yes it was bitches

  • the way jame's is holding his buckle looks like he's making a heart.. xD

  • Lars - Best Drummer Ever :)

  • the toms sound like fuckin thunder :D

  • @SleepwalkerGM no it wasnt

  • @SleepwalkerGM NO IT WASN'T!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @SleepwalkerGM uh no...

  • @SleepwalkerGM yea your stupid, take this from a Megadeth fan.

  • @SleepwalkerGM

    Cannot kill the BATERRYYY

It's funny because you don't know shit about Metallica nor Megadeth.

It's also funny because no way in hell would Dave write this kind of music.

If you were a true fan, you'd realise that Dave has very different music styles compared to Metallica.

Look at The Call of Ktulu riff by Mustaine. Sounds dark and evil in Ktulu but in Hangar 18, the riff is used in a totally different way.

    Stupid fuck.

    OHH DOUBLE BASS

  • @dbzsony yeah same shit happened with mechanix dont you remember? listen to the fucking solo and you know why im sayin it, besides a bunch of articles and interviews ive read

  • @SleepwalkerGM

Then why do you claim that Dave wrote/co-wrote this song?

It's not his style. That's why you'd noticed that nothing in Master and HARDLY anything in Ride is from Dave.

I mean, the spider chord in Ride the Lightning and Wake Up Dead sounds different.

  • @dbzsony

FINALLY!!!!! I have found a Reasonable person.

  • @SleepwalkerGM

You don't know a shit about Metallica or Megadeth do you?

  • @SleepwalkerGM Mustaine SUPPOSEDLY wrote Leper Messiah. That was the only song from Puppets he wrote. Even then, thats a rumour. Look shit up before you make an ass of yourself.

  • @zephranna01 Nothing Else Matters is my favorite off of The Black Album. But that's because it has special meaning to me...It's a song I dedicated to my girl. But if I had to pick a second favorite off of The Black Album it would definitely be The Unforgiven. And I think they sound great now. I believe 88-96 then 97-01 was their best work...I didn't like Load, but I love the hell outta ReLoad.

  • @zephranna01 heh, cool.

Unforgiven is a good song. And Metallica is a great album.

  • @WWFATTITUDEERAFAN I agree. I don't care if they are sellouts or not, or how complex the music is, I care only about how it sounds. I think The black album really great.

  • @zephranna01 hahaha. Nice.

Hmm...Never thought of it that way...You might be right.

My favorite album and song is ...And Justice For All

  • @zephranna01 I'm growing a mustache BECAUSE of James. Same exact style...My girl loves it too. ;)

I agree the beard makes him look old...But to be quite honest facial hair won't assist in music writing. ;D

  • @zephranna01 I think Lars looks fine the way he is now...But I'm 1000% with you on Hetfield...I mean Hetfield's mustache 1988-1998 = GODLY!

  • master of puppets has one of the best sounds ive ever heard in any style of music. the drums, the bass, the guitars, the vocals everything is mixed and recorded perfectly and its all so in your face. MOP is one of the few albums in history that you cant improve on i mean if you had the chance you couldnt even find anything to fix its flawless

  • Metallica is the best fucking heavy metal band ever, so by a rule of three Lars is the best fucking heavy metal ever

    FUCK YEAH!!

  • I played guitar while this drum track played. Fucking awesome!!!!

  • lol... Lars' mustage in the beginning ...

  • @Wowthatsfreaked mustache note mustage

  • Not, not "note"

  • @Tombinater o ya lol that is a big mistake considering in that comment i was correcting anothers spelling

  • Pretty crazy, you can't quite get a full hold of how awsome drum tracks are unless you listen to them alone, however without the rest of the music it isn't the same. But listening to this is quite entertaining, me being a drummer and all and respecting Lars.

  • cant u fuckin answer ?

    fucking cock dripper

  • Now that I've heard every instrument separately I can now say that this song is perfect.

  • how do u separate the tracks and where ?

    plz and thanks

  • You know, you got all these people who sit here and talk mad shit. You have to realize that Lars dosnt play like Pink Floyd, or Burzum. He plays metal. More less his own way. I would like to see all the people who talk shit play this song, Maybe Dyers Eve? You Play Dyers Eve, i completely respect you and wouldnt mind you talking shit. let it go. You dont go to a video to post shit, if you think he sucks, go the fuck away, noone cares what you think.

  • say 1 professional drummer who cant play dyers eve :D

  • @siisihqdaa true man dyers eve is hard as fuck i can play it but it takes a shit load of practice and stamina

  • @19Andjusticeforall88 hahaha you can play dyesr eve??!! hahahaha i wanna see you man!!

  • @mankepierdasss i might be getting a video camera soon so i can record me playing ive only been playing for 4 months, id say im pretty good

  • @19Andjusticeforall88 I was saying that all professional drummers play Dyers Eve easily. Way more easily than Lars

  • Classic fucking pic. Thats where it all began for me. God bless the worlds greatest band. To all the Lars haters...... HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA eat shit.

  • eat my dick!

  • Please, give me some answer that not concert stupid insult, man. It's true that Lars Ulrich isn't a good drummer. ALL drummers who have studied a little are in according to this fact... So please don't insult but support your ideas with some smart comment.

  • Is it just me or does Lars ALWAYS look like a pissed off pornstar in his photos?

  • holly shit cliff was tall

  • This song is harder than Dyers Eve. It's way more complicated.

  • yeah but dyers eve is soo fucking fast on bass pedal, way more harder

  • @SpaceDyeDream yeah i just find it harder than dyers eve becuase you dont really have a part where you can slow down,un like dyers eve during the break and also in battery you have the fucking crossovers with the toms......i hate playing that shit but it feels good once you get it down

  • No I play the 2 on the drums and dyers Eve Is Harder...

  • @captaincadavor if you dont think any metallica song is hard on drums play the shortest straw or dyers eve blackened theres harder songs out there but those arent easy

  • send me a video of YOU playing dyers eve on drums go ahead

  • if only i had a camera

  • @19Andjusticeforall88 It's funny that clown never replied back on this comment. Cuz he probably can't even play Enter sandman.

  • @sepulmattica1 lol enter sandman is easy as hell but your right he probably cant

  • Its almost been proven that Blackened is the hardest, although it doesn't have the fastest straight double bass, to play the whole song almost dead on is impossible due to the use of triplets in the chorus with such a fast eight note, you can commonly see deathmetal bands cover the song.

  • he looks like he has a porno mustace. lars, that is.

  • HAHAHAHA:D Lars: 3:50

  • FUCKING KICK ASS... LARS IS DA BEST

  • 4:59 I like this!

  • UPLOAD "AM I EVIL"? PLEASE.

  • Maaan this sounds awesome

  • hey dude i hope u dnt mind but im usin ur drum track in a guitar cover for this song.

  • i dont understand... where does guitar hero get the tracks?

  • @Eelpop The bands provide the original master tracks for them.

  • i would buy a box of all master tracks for all songs, that'd be awesome :D

  • lol...I never noticed that Lars had a mustache in this pic...xD!!! He looks like a 70's porn star!!! xD!!!

  • lmaooo, YOUR SO RIGHT !!!

  • @WWFATTITUDEERAFAN lol james did to in 1989

  • lol lars has a weird mustache in this pic

  • 3:52 He kicks it into a whole nother level SHIT!!!! geeze

  • Yeah, if only he did that live.

  • @1ofakindSH he did in the 80s and early 90s but hes also old now and not 20 like he was when he made this song dick

  • @Mafia2223

Don't get me wrong, Lars is the best drummer for Metallica, however Dave Lombardo is around the same age as Lars and can go just as fast, if not faster.(Even though drumming is not all about speed)

  • If only he could do that today....

  • Nah dude, check out some footage from the Death Magnetic tour. I just got the DVD where they payed in France at the Collocium.

    He drums fucking amazingly.

  • you should put up damage inc. next. drum tracks only

  • If you hate them so much why would you come here. go back to Robin Trower and his many goofy faces.

  • Faggot. Go listen to Robin Trower

  • like you could do any better

  • you getting these tracks direct from guitar hero? or is there somewhere online i could download them from that you could recommend? cheers

  • all from guitar hero.

  • R.I.P CLIFF

  • I really respect Lars, because of him I really want to start playing drums. I know, there can be much better drummers, but Lars is for me maybe the first "real" drummer what I heard. You know, you can hear good and not ordinary drumming, usually. I hope that you understand my very bad english but I tried my best. aaaaaaaarg,hard...

  • Lars was meant for this band because metallica wasn't about JUST the drums. I'm pretty sure people rember them by their guitar riffs, or is that just me? Anyways, while displaying some of his talent, not all at the same time, people could enjoy cool drums with some STELLAR solos and awesome riffs at the same time. No one else could have made up this drum part

  • This is a master piece!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • lars has a milk mustache in this pic

  • two different drummers, lars has this cool ass off timing shit that works well with james, Lombardo is badass and has his own curve that makes him unique as well, so In my eyes stalemate....

  • i agree i think you couldnt get a better drummer for metallica if you did then it wouldnt be metallica

  • Why does one drummer have to be better than the other? Why can't anyone just agree that Ulrich is just as awesome as Lombardo and vice versa? They both have their strengths and weaknesses. Get over it.

  • @Delthryn Maan you just said it as it should be and im very happy about that =D

  • that was the style of the 80's incase you haven't noticed

  • cliff has manly hair i guess he didnt follow trends
