  • putting the air filter is not even a temporary fix at best. first fix the leak from your muffler, it is leading to inconsistent back pressure, which no matter what you do to the carb setting or idle it will always run weird. once you fix the leakage (i presume you broke in the motor correctly), reset the carb needles back to their default setting, depending on you make, use you manual or look it up online. what kind of motor do you have?

  • I have a GS11R .12 engine. Its good, just the leak is my problem. And the diff bearing now starting to make a noice.

  • nice spider, do you need any parts?

  • nah i got the part i needed. Its the one with the exhaust out the back, but what i guess i need is and O-ring for the exhaust, or the fuel im using is too oily, coz after half a tank of fuel, my whole rear is covered with oil, guess thats why my rear belt slips now, so now technicly its front wheel drive. But im fixing it today and almost out of this oily crap, so maybe next weekend ill have better fuel. But yea, i live in Australia and i had to get the part i needed form the UK.

  • And im guessing you know a thing or 2 about kyoshos, considering mine is a Spider, Spider mk2 to be exact. But maybe i need some parts, but the o ring i can get hear for 30 cents($0.30) from a o ring place. But i think mine was some rally version as it come with a 22B Impreza STI body, but i bought it second hand for $170.

  • yeah, you have to use an exhaust gasket and tighten it well. you should check out the one i just sold on ebay item number (180216686867) its still viewable, tell me what you think. i have lots of tips and tricks to make your spider perform much better.

  • its the orange ring in the muffler, between the engine block and exhaust its fine, but its where the muffler itself, which is right above the diff and oil goes all over it. I put silicone gasket all over it but it leaks abit, but its better now. But yea i do need some parts and i guess these tips and tricks would come in handle. But would you approve of putting the airfilter in the fridge for 10 mins, coz i did that today of after 30 mins of almost solid play, then cooled the engine and continued

  • oh and where you located?

  • i am in california. yeah those gaskets can be tricky, if they are not properly aligned and seated you'll have leakage. if it comes down to using silicone your better off just buying a new gasket and make sure the new gets seated nicely within the gaskets groove when putting the muffler back together. it shouldn't leak at all.
