  • plz tell me that Tony isnt wearing eyeliner or summing like that during the last section

  • @Weirdo7310 Eyeliner I don't know, but a guy wearing an earring yes. I think guys who wear earrings are confused about their sexuallity no? Anyhow, these guys are awesome.

  • My new favourite song used to be Only When You Leave

  • If cheese & mullets were made illegal, these chaps would be spending a life sentence down at Pentonville.

  • OMG - How I loved this group - GOD THEY WERE GORGEOUS!!!

Duran Duran, Wham, Culture Club and Haircut 100 were just a few of my faves in the 80's. I was a teen in this decade so I appreciated all of these groups - SOME FABULOUS SONGS!! You had to hit the dancefloor to some of these groups

  • Search for "Highly strung ara" you find a good and funny cover of Highly Strung made by the band of a friend of mine "ARA" on 2002.

  • Pause at 2:35, bit of nipple, yeah!!

  • What an awsome song!!~!!

  • I think Parade was simply the best album the band ever produced. Every track is simply a masterpiece.

  • My fave from a whole series of great singles. Really rocks.

  • If You Want More 80's Music, Check Out My Channel.

  • Yay! I haven't heard this song in years. My favorite Spandau song by far.

  • @jtandy100: What do you mean?

  • One of Spandau's best. This is a fine example of an interpretation of a song through the video. It actually tells a story that has as much relevance today as back then.

  • Like so much this band.

  • oh my god! the are other songs than only True!!!

  • 2:33 Peek-a-Boo!! lol

  • didnt know andrew ridgeley was in spandau..?

  • parade's my fave album

  • @wonderv8

  • He was in Wham!

  • I say I have been listening to the good old spandau ballet since I was about 15

  • I was born in 1986, big it up I was born in the 80's. big the fuck it up I was born in 1986 the best year there is, even though I pretty much missed out on this kind of stuff !

1986 the year I was born, I am glad I was born in the fucking 80's fuck yeh!

I am an 80's baby, 90's child and 00's teen but the 80's is where it's fucking at!

  • 76 was the best year there is i fink you will find, amazing summer...amazing amount of music produced, amazing amount of sporting stuff.... bohemian rhapsody, abba, james hunt, hotel caloifornia, barry sheene, kevin keegan..etc etc

  • Martin Kemp it's gotta be a sin to look that good....my goodness even now aged 37 i go all stupid inside when i see how good you looked back then....lol

  • know what you mean lol!!

  • A gal in MV, Sally Bull. Her husband was an owner of Canton Disco (80s famous disco in Hong Kong).

  • I LOVE this song! My mother bought the CD yesterday and I first heard this song. They're great!

P.S.: The frontman is also very hot!

  • Underrated song!

    aun asi me gusta

  • loved this song...

  • I just love the guitars and style they have!

just awesome, its great that they are finally back after so long. Guitars and Saxaphone, what more can you ask for!

    awesome!

  • i love spandau ballet. I had a big poster of them when i was in high school. They are great till now, Tony Hedley, Martin Kemp, Gary Kemp, Steve Norman and I forgot the other one, sorry.

  • You love em so much you spell Tony Hadley's name wrong and forget one of their names..duhhhhhhhh.

  • so? your point is.. what?

  • Romantisch Time :)

  • the lead singers of duran duran and spandau are sooo different. simon's is too high for me :P

  • spandau ballet is one of the very few groups you can buy an album from where each and every track actually is really good, Far too many artists have records with one good track, and the rest of the album is pure rubbish!!

  • @qwerty0987654321zxcv

They were/are great I loved all the albums they were Real unlike Duran Duran and a lot of other mid 80's bands who bundeled 2 or 3 singles with a load of B sides and called it an album. They made real RECORDS Parade and True were and are CLASSICs

  • @FlorryMc Duran Duran have made some of the best albums ever recorded imo. They are very different from Spandau, and both are great bands.

  • @AshestoAshes83

That's why I love music so much! No two people ever feel totally the same about the same music. I was always a Rock Fan but Spandau had a brand of pop that appealed to me. For me (repeat ME) Duran Duran were all about singles wheres the Kemp Bros wrote complete albums. Just my humble opinion. If we all liked the same stuff the world would be one boring place. and there would be no need for comments on you-tube :-)

  • Duran and Spandau are both Fantastic bands (fan of both since 1981).

  • me 2!! love their songs and not to mention those gorgeous looking band members.

  • LOLZ at 4:00....look at Steve's face!

  • OMG, is Tony Hadley wearing makeup???

  • Looks like he is.

  • they're all so fit!!

  • Tony, beautifull voice

  • this vid competed with duran duran's rio, and it's clear which one won :/ i don't hate duran duran quite the contary i'm just more of a spandau fan like. they were argubally more popular though duran duran, martin kemp in his biography said how when he went to break it in acting in america he felt beat and upset when some one from filming was wearing a simon le bon t shirt.

  • great spandau tune, duran duran were better song wise and video. but spandau did some awesome songs to rival duran

  • 2 true u cannot whack a bit of the old spandau!! Very much a CAN-DO!!!

  • thats right spandau are often mentioned in context of duran duran but not often the other way round

  • great years! great dreams!

  • No way is Tony Hadley the British hasselhoff! Tony can sing way better, is much nicer looking and is generally a nice guy!

  • Oh on 2:35 she was naked

    on the scene right?

  • Watch the video closely at 2:35, i don't know how that got in there, lmao!

  • you must be kiddin' :D Hasslehoff needed KITT to do the job, Tony didn't

  • God I love these guys!!!!!

  • One of my favorites - Duran's got *nothing* on the Spandau guys when it comes to making exotic videos LOL

  • Such was my alledience to these guys that I refused to do Simon Le Bons make-up at Top Of The Pops!

I am still not sure about the whole thing - but why don't the Spands get more recognition.

  • Really? I thought they were just as popular as Duran Duran, because in the Philippines, they were the top two bands when it came to popularity back in the eighties. But I have to agree with you about the recognition. Tony Hadley has such an incredible voice (he can still keep its quality even live). I remember seeing Martin Kemp in a few films and T.V. (still cute, but it bugged me that he played the villain).

  • They set the scene.

I like Duran (in hindsight) I even named my daughter after Yasmin Le Bon.

But as far as talent and originality goes these guys kept it real and were the groundbreaking romantics newly probing the scene in 1980.

Working class lads resisting the fading to grey.

    Polite and well-mannered too.

Steve Norman - don't even get me started!

  • Oh yes, Steve Norman... no explanation is necessary. I already mentioned Tony Hadley's strong points in my previous comment. I would not consider the Kemps the best instrumentalists around (Gary is a good songwriter, though), but they are excellent team players. Very classy band and quite versatile as well (that's why I like them and I could never grow tired of listening to their songs). And I have to agree with you with their setting the scene.

  • Check out my myspace as it details my involvement within the scene at the time. I was a regular at Le BeatRoute and I even got an email from the lovely Mr Norman the other day.

I had to have a lie down!

Well you would, wouldn't you?! :-)

    Paint me down! ooohhh!

  • Spandau did not really make it as big as Duran Duran in the US though and that made a world of difference. Besides True and Gold, most Americans have never even heard of their other good stuff that were appreciated everywhere else.

  • lottietotty you're nuts! D:

  • Great stuff! Thank you for posting these!!

  • Another great song with another great video!!! Who needs Hungry like the Wolf anyway? This is much more civilized! xoxoxo

  • you're right, I'd rather listen to Hold Back The Rain and Lonely in Your Nightmare ;)

  • LOL! I was referring to how this video seem to be much like Duran's 'Hungry Like the Wolf' ~ Simon at the table, Tony at the table...few other similarities...but I love'em both! Both bands are brilliant! Love Mr. Hadley!!!
