@garystorey the plants below will be fine as long as you dont let the floating plants cover the entire surface... I usually need to take a handful out every 3-4 weeks
@spudsssy sweet thanks! but i doubt theyll survive against my severums, angels, and rainbows. ive tried those mini plants at the end of this video but they're gone within a few hours
Duckweed stinks D:< its too small, so it looks like your tank is messy. I have an open rimless tank, with land plants on the side, so frogbit is perfect for me. I'd like to see a video on fairy moss one day, but I can never find one.
(Dwarf) Water Lettuce, Frogbit, Water Spangles, that's what you have there. These three will compete heavily for available nutrients and space. I have to cull about half of all three every month or so or they'll completely cover the surface of the water. If any of these plants gets ahead of the others it'll out compete the others for space and nutrients. Water Spangles can be difficult to keep in good shape as they tend to mold very easily in my experience. Congrats on your new plants!
@Loafy23 Also the Frogbit's roots will, if allowed, reach the bottom of the tank and root themselves in the substrate which can be an issue when you're culling as the roots will bring a surprising amount of substrate with them when removed from the tank during culls. Water lettuce and Frogbit's roots are also pretty fragile and can easily break off and die causing ammonia to rise slightly. It shouldn't be an issue but something you should be aware of.

Cool video. Does Frogbit block out alot of light that would prevent plants beneath it from growing properly ?
I've just bought a 40x40x40cm Nano tank and wouldn't mind some to add an extra dimension. The light I have is an 18w T5 unit.
