What happens when you die? Have you told lies, stolen, used God's name in vain(10 Commandments)? If yes, then you're a liar, thief, and a blasphemer in the sight of God. When you die & be judged by God, you'll be guilty of sin, & go to Hell! But God sent His Son Jesus to shed His blood & die on a cross for your sins, He was buried & rose again from the dead on the third day. If you'll believe the Gospel(Jesus died for your sins, was buried & resurrected)you'll not perish & have eternal life
I know you old-timers might be hesitant, but you should check out Carrie Underwood's version. This is a classic, but Carrie's is pretty stirring as well.
above the rest with this timeless Hymm.....is because she "lives" what she sang.....Jesus Christ was and IS her Lord and Saviour.....that's why, it comes out so powerfully, with So much "soul"......because it's Believable
Taylor Swift did a great job with this song in 2008, but I've never heard anyone do this song better than Connie Smith. This version is just phenomenal!
I have seen Connie sing this live several times, when she sings this song you know it has been sung! What a great lady. Marty Stuart is blessed to have her.
I think "OUR MUSICAL ANGEL" sings this GREAT old Hymn better than anyone.Like,Skeeter Davis not only is she a "GIFTED" Vocalist but she's also one of the most WONDERFUL Women to ever to walk this Earth! And a DEVOUT CHRISTIAN too!
Rachel, if you type LP discography into Google, it will bring you up on a site which lists all her albums and there at least 3 Connie Smith sacred albums listed.
A site that is well worth browsing by country fans.
"How Great Thou Art", it brought tears to my eyes. What an incredible performance. You could tell that she was singing it from the heart. I only wish that she'd do a whole gospel collection of the old standards like
"Rock of Ages" and "Amazing Grace". I would buy such a collection in a heartbeat. Long live Connie Smith.
awesome rendition connie smith ....

Connie's version ranks with two of the best I have ever heard and this is my opinion only. One is Elvis Presley, the other is Carrie Underwood.
Connie is probably the number 1 female country vocalist ever.

The Main reason that Connie stands
above the rest with this timeless Hymm.....is because she "lives" what she sang.....Jesus Christ was and IS her Lord and Saviour.....that's why, it comes out so powerfully, with So much "soul"......because it's Believable
in and through her life.
