uhm for melee.. the machete nd the crowbar.. easy to use,handy,very easy to find nd they both can be used for other purposes than beating the crap out of zombies.. like opening crates,doors etc...

For Ranged weapons.. for me the Carbine.. but most important is too stock up ammo not stock up on guns.. combining these two you have a deadly aresenal for surviving an outbreak.. Gudluck to you my friend when that day comes!! Same goes to all!!

That also depends on how big of an outbreak it is. If there aren't that many zombies oh let's say between 5 and 20 and if they were spread out far enough, any close or long range weapon would suffice. If there were a lot of them like around 100 then a long range weapon that's quick and easy to reload and can hold a lot of ammo will do nicely Malkavianz4Lyf. Also, skypiercer03 made some good points as well.

He should have grabbed both the pistol and the bat. Its very tiring to swing a bat around multiple times, as any baseball player can tell you, and the pistol can allow you to keep your distance from the zombies and kill them quicker than using a bat.

1: find shelter.. make sure iit's good

2:Find survivors. As many as you can that have not been bitten

3: Find a gun or a melee weapon to defend yourself with

4: If any zombies could break into your defense make sur you have a wooden door hatch or a way up..like use a ladder to get on top of a roof and bring the ladder u with you.. that would probably be the smartest thing.. With food.. water.. maybe a weapon.. u know..
