@chrisjrrt A jumbuck is a sheep - a Godsend to a man who doesn't know where his next meal is coming from. A swagman is a hobo/ drifter, but the word tends to have romantic connotations A "Matilda" is a backpack, and to waltz matilda is to wonder with your backpack - so the song has nothing to do with dancing, or with anyone called Matilda! Hope that helps.

Beatifully sung HOWEVER, The Original was an old ENGLISH BALLAD which went like this 'A Gay Grenadier went marching down to Rochester going to fight in the Low Lands Low.....The Low Lands Low Oh the Low Lands Low.. Now if you would like to try those words to the air you will see that it is a perfect fit..This preceded the eventual Walzing Matilda so beloved by Australians Sorry but true Cobber...

Perhaps the voice has limited range, but it is used well in this song. Deborah is very expressive with her performance. I would easily give her 4 1/2 stars, based on the weakness of some of the higher notes in the song. However, she stayed on pitch the entire song.
