@tritan1 About 1 inch for the scratchy velcro and 1.5 for the elastic and 1.25 for the soft velcro. That way if you sew the scratchy velcro to the tarp you have a small tab to pull it open. I also have these on my STLs
Dutch another great idea. Going to make some this week. Thanks for the ideas. Is that zing it for the tarp ends? How much do you use on each ends and how do you attach to your tarp and to the stake?
@tritan1 That is 1.75 zing it. I put about 10 to 12 feet per side. I use taunt line hitch to attach the line to the d-ring. I use a marling spike hitch for the stake. I put between 5 and 8 feet for the side tie outs.

@tritan1 I used 3/4 inch but 1/2 would work also. I just used what was on hand.
