Really, I listened to this track several times, and I just love it. Infact Cele can take over where Dube left off and let the Slaves match on. What a very nice song, though I don't understand it, but it's a real hit. Long live the Slaves!!!
Men just let me know what dis song really means bse when it plays i really feel hurt. even thou i dont know de Zulu. Dis was since I heard it in 2009, just help.
I think its a Zulu Language,i can listen over and over, God put ur soul in to Enternal Peace,we miss u Dube,...OPON DENIS/OTINO LANGI UGANDA AND ABROAD.,............
Singing here is Thutukani Cele.....not Lucky Dube. They have the same distinctive voice, but slightly different from each other. If you've listened to Dube long enough you should be able to tell the difference.
It stops me on my tracks, but have no idea what it means.Ionce jumped out of a bus when I heard it being played in a roadside kiosk in Dagorretti market in Kenya, lol.
Proxy808 knows exactly what he's talking about....that is not Lucky! Lucky has a distinct sound, Thuthukani comes soooo close to sounding like him but there is a difference. Search (YouTube) for "Lucky Dube and the Slaves Usizi and when the results come up click on the second choice. It is the exact same song but it says "The Slaves (Lucky Dube's Band) Usizi and anyone that is truly into Lucky Dube music can tell the difference. Not here to argue..I was a personal friend of Lucky's. :-)
we love you dube, awesome work you worked hard and on earth here i tink we're better off , thanks man and peace be to you and your relations. This song takes me back in the day, and a lot of the things we dream of yesterday came true today, with good people as lucky dube we have a great hope for peace and justice in the world. Much respect brother.

"The people of Vanuatu were treated over the weekend during the show after the one time lead singer of the popular band Slaves, Thuthukani Cele explained to the people of Vanuatu the words to his hit song Usizi. Cele explained that the song is a song about fathers, mothers and children who lived during the time of Apartheid in South Africa.
Thuthukani Cele plays the synthesizer and often sang with Lucky Dube.
@IIHarmonyII I have this CD "Talkin Reggae" and I bought it back in 1993 and Lucky Dube is not on this album -- Thutukani cele (One of the founders of Slaves) is the one singing on this track and his voice resembles that of Dube... Thutukani cele is also the keyboard player for the band. Lucky dube is not the lead singer of Slaves... Slaves is a band that Lucky Dube worked with do you understand? Just like Bob Marley and the Wailers.
I 1st heard this song through my neighbour's window in Mombasa.i lived in a"plot" .With houses so close together, he would come home late at night dead drunk and play it over and over for almost the whole night. he got me hooked.
The way this brother left is just not right, everytime i listen to his musik, tears feel my eyes. But what can i do? i guess thats just life, never fair. A man killed just for his car:(
It is sorrowful....He is singing about kids going to bed without food...parents are laid off...the night is long to the child if he didnt get something to eat...sad..
i love this piece of music and of caurse other lucky dube's music..i have been looking it for a long time..it makes me dance even when iam sitting on a chair..when i go to disco i just ask the dj to play it again...the words i dont understand but it gives me a feeling they are nice words..i would love to know what he the words means in english...
In Uganda we used to sing: Obusungu bulina amaanyi.....anger has power hahaha. Twaz really sad that all the time Dube came to Uganda twaz without the Slaves. What a band...the African Wailers.
BELLE MUSIQUE.

100% certainly
you can hear it in his voice, but also in his typical syntesizer sound.
I have seen Lucky Dube 6 times live. Every time it was great!!!!!
