  • great work my friend! greetings from mexico!

  • @nac5000

    Thank you! :)

  • can this scope see better then astromaster 130eq?

because i see got pic of jupiter with the scope u got and i see better pics of nebula's and galaxy with astromaster130eq

  • @nubeyo09

This scope and the astromaster gives approximately equal views. The difference in photographs depends on many other factors: Atmospheric conditions, camera settings such as shutter speed, aperture size, method of photography, and of course the camera used. The astromaster has a more stable mount, though, which gives it better long exposure capability.

  • І справді не знаю, якщо

  • @dormiroM

    Sorry I don't speak Ukrainian...

  • @starsoffyre how are you getting great pics like this?im fairly new to this,i got myself a celestron127eq i have some decent pics of the moon but i have to hold the camera to the lens!!!!shaky and hit or miss!!any advice would be great!

  • @pdw2309

I actually used a camera adapter for this. I would set the camera to countdown, and let the vibrations on the telescope settle before it snaps a shot.

  • @starsoffyre a camera adaptor??are they expensive and were can you get one???

  • @pdw2309

It costs about $50 I think. I got it from the same place (a local store) where I bought my telescope from. It's possible to buy it online, though. I think amazon does sell it.

  • @starsoffyre I just want to say that this vid is AWESOME, you put it together very well!

  • What do you think of the scope? I'm looking to buy my first scope and would like to stay under $200... hopefully $150 or less. How does your powerseeker 127EQ compare to, say, the Astromaster 114EQ and other similarly priced scopes? Any advice for a total beginner? Thanks!

  • @cronus33

The astromaster 114EQ would probably have a more stable mounting than the slightly flimsy powerseeker 127EQ. However, the larger aperture of the 127EQ would give it slightly sharper and brighter views. Both are great scopes, though.

  • @cronus33 I got me a Used Celestron 127EQ for $60. If you look around on craigslist or kijiji you will find great deals. A used one will be great to start with. Upon reselling it, you will not lose much plus you can reinvest into a better unit. Enjoy!

  • Very nice - thank you for sharing with us, I'm just about to get a Celest' Nexstar 127 GOTO. Can't wait.

  • that picture of the sun at the beginning, did you take that?

  • @SaturnAndItsRings

Yes I did. I used a mylar filter for it.

  • I'm considering the PowerSeeker 127EQ by Celestron International. Thank you for this video!

  • Cool vid, I'm gettin a PS 127EQ on tuesday and cant wait, but whats the flash of light at 2:06?

  • @wolve2480

I think it's just a problem with my camera :D

  • What format was this filmed on?

  • @johnbretherton

JPEG, and .avi for the video captures

  • well the 1 person who disliked is a bit of a larry isnt he....

  • @ownzer987

    Haha thanks :D

  • @starsoffyre its ok, i wil b ur friend. u do not have to b a larry anymore

  • is that how you see them exactly or do you see them better with the naked eye??

  • @fidefreestyle

Except for the deep sky shots, that's how I see them.

  • 8-second exposure of sirius?? Why? It's bright, you want low exposures. :P

Nice video nonetheless. You need to try M1 and M78, both very close to M42.

  • @Goalatio

Even though Sirius is bright by deep sky standards, even an 8-second exposure was too little. If I had brought down the ISO it wouldn't be seen in all its brilliance.

I haven't tried much besides the nebulae is Sagittarius, but I'll sure be trying M1 and M78 (as well as a reshoot of M42/43) when the sky clears :D I've also gotten a DSLR, so hopefully I can accumulate some pictures and make a new video soon(:

  • @starsoffyre cool are you 15/16 then?

  • @cheekymoney479

    Yup I'm 16 :D

  • @starsoffyre Really!? I thought you were a lot older lol

  • I'm 15 and I love learning about the universe I dont know why I just cant get enough of it its just so facsinating! I think I might take Physics at A level in college in September and then off to Uni

  • @cheekymoney479

Indeed it is! I'm also planning to take Physics at A level in college :D

  • Thx m8! ,nice video nice song! = perfect!

  • What is the song ?

  • @LuisJimenez92

    Rachel's Song by Vangelis.

  • Hi very nice video . I have just got a celestron nexstar 127 slt which i beleve is a similar scope and i have a canon powershot 720is. I was wondering how you fixed the camera to the eye piece? If you could do a video of your set up that would be really helpfull thanks.

  • @bm1980sw

I used a vixen universal camera adapter (#3919). I think it would be quite self-explanatory once you get it. Just screw the camera onto the screw on the platform and clamp it onto the eyepiece. If you need help or require a video do pm me(:

  • @starsoffyre Hi thanks for the reply i will look up the adapter thanks

  • no offense intended this is advise really... it looks as though you need to clean your primary mirror trust me your veiwing and photos will look tons better=) i happened to mine not to long ago

  • @SaturnAndItsRings

It was a new telescope when i got these pictures. I was actually doing afocal projection with a point-and-shoot and that probably blurred the images. Thanks for the tip, though!

  • @starsoffyre ok but it was a very nice video good job!

  • @SaturnAndItsRings

    Thanks!(:

  • hey what was your magnification for the deep sky objects?

    thanks

  • @yuriogy1

    50x =)

  • i was thinking about getting this teleoscope but i want one i can get a really good close up of jupiter with

  • @abubu455446

For telescopes about this size the best you could get is resolve jupiter as a disc with cloud bands. If you want a very close up image you would need extremely expensive telescopes.

  • thanks for uploading this. im thinking of buying a powerseeker 127 eq. would you recommend it?

  • @yuriogy1

Yes. It would be a great beginner scope, and one that you could use as your interest grows.

  • nice!!!

  • what eyepieces were you using?

  • @monimstarfox

The K20 one that was supplied with the scope

  • @starsoffyre

i was wondering does your RA ascension and Declination knobs stop turning after you have turned it in one direction for a while ? or is it only mine that does that

  • @monimstarfox

Yes it does. However, you have to twist it in the other direction and manually turn the scope without using the controls back into the direction you want.

  • @starsoffyre

thanks for the answer man i thought i was the only one

how do you collimate yours btw?

  • what `s the name of the song?

  • @frangoku20

    Vangelis - Rachel's song

  • is there much difference between this and the dobsonian 8"

  • @kerrbear160387

Yes there is. The dob has much higher light gathering power (about 2.5 times more than the 5", but does not have an equatorial mount where you can add a motor for sidereal tracking.

  • @starsoffyre Am planing to buy to scope, could u please tell me about the eyepieces that come with this, are they good? what kind of EP's are they? plossls?

    Regards

  • @hummerume

Thanks! The eyepieces that come with it are not plossls. But in my opinion, they can provide reasonably sharp images.

  • @starsoffyre Thanks for the response buddy!

    Regards

  • @hummerume

    Sure (: Glad to help

  • @starsoffyre Very nice presentation dude!

    Best Regards

  • i didnt know the 127 could do all this

    i will defintely get one

  • @monimstarfox

    Yup, it's a great starter scope (:

  • @starsoffyre

can you see nebulae and galaxy's with this?

  • @monimstarfox

Yes, you can see the brighter galaxies and nebulae.

  • i really thank you...after watching thiss video i decided i want THIS telescope..year ago...and now i watch sky every day...almost..clouds moon.light pollution

  • @dodkak

    That's nice to hear (:

  • ive got a celestron powerseeker 114EQ can i see the imagines u took using a powerseeker 127eq?

  • @NAGULNR2

The images here are all taken with a 127eq

  • What video program did you use to make this?

  • @scottohscott

    Windows movie maker

  • Fuck man,buy n`w telescope and make video,LOL

  • @klericboy12

I don't really get what you mean...are you telling me to buy a new telescope or what? o.o

  • im nearly 15 and i really want a telescope that lets me see good images of the planets etc as i am really into astronamy. I am a beginner and I'm not sure which telescope i should get. Do you recommend this one or if you know a different one please tell me

  • @TheDisneyEpisodes,

Yes, I do recommend this telescope if your main aim is for visual observing of planets, stars etc. It does give good views of planets like saturn's rings and jupiter's moons. Alternatively, there are many choices out there; but I think that for visual purposes is best to get a reflector that is of the highest aperture for your budget.

    Oh and I'm 15 too :)

  • @starsoffyre thanks so much for the advice i will definitely look into getting this telescope thanks again and btw those are some amazing images that you took i hope i will be able to get my own images like this one day thanks again :)

  • @TheDisneyEpisodes

    Thanks! :) Glad I could help :D

  • Sure =)

  • hmm...I'm not sure, you might want to try the 4mm eyepiece if that's the case. Anyways, I took a peek through the scope and realised that it could only be seen as a red dot. Apparently I required an optical + digital zoom in my camera before I could discern its disc shape. Even then, surface features are barely visible.

  • what size eye piece do i need on a powerseeker 127q to see mars ?

  • I used the 20mm + 3x barlow for mars

  • so if i buy a 20mm and barlow would thet fit the 127q?

  • I am thinking of getting the Celestron Powerseeker 127EQ ..... any tips ?

  • If you are a beginner I would strongly encourage getting the PS 127EQ since it provides reasonable views =)

  • oh my these pics are shit

  • LOL, Blade Runner :-)

  • Are you just using the lenses that came with the telescope?

  • Yup, I actually use only the 20mm lens. The barlow and 9mm ones are used rarely.

  • Dude you rule you gave me the hopes to buy this telescope you should register with celestron pics and post your images there, i have a powerseeker 60az but want to upgrade, nice vid i want to see more please post some thanks

  • haha sure (: I might be going out to shoot more soon, and possibly get new equipment =D

  • Hey man i got the Celestron 130eq telescope its awsome!! i can see mars the size of a penny, and saturn the size of a screw, i also saw m31 galaxy and it look gret, to see m31 galaxy on clear night, just look for the w upside down and move to the left and youll see a faint fuzz, but if you have a camera with long time exposure you should see dramatic detail

  • Yup, my camera has long exposure. However, the place I live in is very light polluted, and I almost never get out of the city area. So that makes it kinda hard to spot the dimmer messier objects in my scope.

  • awesommmmmm

  • Nice vid - what's the music?

  • The music is Vangelis - Rachel's song.

  • Comment removed

  • Thanks - works very well with the pictures.

  • thanks! =)

  • hello, what oculars do u use normaly? have u get some ?,i mean celestron 127 has 2 standar ocular but have u buy others? Thanks for video

  • I only used the two standard ones as I usually use the optical zoom in the camera to zoom in closer =)

  • thanks... argos do rip you off, £100 cheaper

  • all i want to know, what type of telescope (reflector or refractor) is best at looking at planets and galaxies?

and is this telescope good at looking at saturn or jupiter?

  • Reflectors are usually preferred, as they usually come in higher apertures than refractors and are free from chromatic aberration. The telescope that I'm using can be used to look at saturn or jupiter, although highest magnification is usually necessary to bring out some detail.

  • thanks, your telescope is the 127EQ rright?

i had a budget of lyk £200, is there any sites where i can buy this telescope (excluding argos)?

    which are totally safe.

  • I got my telescope from a local dealer, so I am unsure as to whether which sites are safe. Alternatively, you can order from amazon (very safe, as I bought stuff from there before), which sells it at about £79 w/o shipping.

  • How is it for terrestrial observation? And is it possible to watch @ some planets using x750 magnification ?

  • The viewing is inverted for terrestrial observation. When using the x750 magnification, the field of view is very small but allows you to reveal slightly more detail on planets.

  • Hey I have the 127EQ but when I looked at Jupiter it was a glowing blob with nothing around it.

  • Try using the 4mm eyepiece. It allows you to view the cloud layers.

  • I'll try tonight

  • haha. I had the same problem when I first bought a telescope. The problem was that I was trying to make Jupiter look as big as possible in the eyepiece, when what actually needed to be done was to focus until it looked as small as it possibly could. Try using your focus knob to make Jupiter look as small as you can possibly make it look. Then stare at it for a few seconds. You'll see.

  • ok thanks

  • how is the 127 EQ? im thinking of buying it

  • It's a good scope, especially for beginners although you would eventually need motor drives to use the mount effectively =)

  • Nice Vid ,it's very interesting.

  • Thank you! ^^

  • Amazing video sequence. Loved the part where you actually tried to point out Orion in Sgaittarius and Canis Major. Btw, whats the soundtrack that is playing?

  • Thanks! The song is 'Vangelis-Rachel's Song'.

  • Wow this vid is class, the stars bit at the end was good and is sirius really bigger than the sun?And if you know how far siriius is from us u cuda compared the ditsnce from us between it and the sun.Mint vid m8.

  • heh thanks! Yes sirius is bigger and much brighter than the sun. Since the sun is quite near to us in astronomical terms, Sirius has approximately the same distance from the sun as it is from us.

  • At night ialways see sirius :D.I take photos of it to and i always see this planet in the sky and its not mars coz mars is like a redy colour this is like a huge huge huge star i thought it was nibiru lol.Any thoughts?

  • That planet is Jupiter. It is the only bright planet that you can see at night currently, and appears as a disc in a telescope. =)

  • Thanx lol because its very very big and ive been wondering what it was lol.Always appears at about 3am.Thanx.

  • If it appears at 3am, then its probably Venus, the brightest object in the night sky besides the moon. Jupiter rises at around 11pm. =)

  • just bought this telescope, could you tell me how to shoot video and process them? your video took me for a HEAVENLY RIDE thanks a mil!!! brilliant work

  • Thanks! Oh and you can use a digital camera connected to the eyepiece via a camera adapter. After which, you can use windows movie maker to process the video.

  • i liked that you didnt resort to using images from keppler or hubble. great job. thanks for a great vid. kuddos!

  • Thanks for your encouraging words! =D

  • hi. i liked your work. i enjoyed it. i wanna ask you something. what kind of camera needs to shot a more clear image of yours? a DLSR or what?

DSLR cams are able to use on EQ-127 ?

  • Thank you! As for your question, I used an ordinary point-and-shoot camera (Samsung S760), but DSLRs and CCD imagers would be a better choice. And yes, DSLRs can be attached to the EQ-127 with T-rings. =)

  • thanks a lot, now i can start to find a EQ-127 :)

  • Wow I enjoyed your video. I just purchased the same telescope for my boyfriend for his bday/father's day. It would be cool to capture images on video the way you did. What is a vixen universal camera adapter?

  • Thanks! The vixen (brand) universal camera adapter is used to connect a compact digital camera to the telescope eyepiece for astrophotography.

  • wow you have found some planets!

  • Haha yeah =D

  • great pics////// can you link pc or somthing to your Celestron Powerseeker 127EQ. to film or take images

    please let me know asap

  • It is a normal digital camera linked to the eyepiece by a vixen universal camera adapter. Hope that helps =D
