When I was in High School, Triumph was on the verge of being an International Supergroup. For what ever reason, They just didn't make it. They damn sure had the talent for it. I miss those days.......
Tonight, I an 18 year old young man, who has love for music and its dying talents have here by sworn to spread the word that is Triumph, may good music thrive, and may talent stay alive \M/ soldier of this lost generation...OUT!!!

@MrTomh77 same for me. Then when I picked up a couple of their albums (cassettes) I discovered they also played Magic Power and Fight the Good Fight. I was very new to music at the time.
@suspensiondude The most popular way to hear new music at the time was MTV. So when they quit playing rock videos and went to grunge and then hip hop it killed all music with talented musicians. So I blame MTV.
I always use to think of them as being great, but never up to the standards of Rush.
Now that you listen to both of them deades later and you notice one of the big differences between the bands is that Rush used the new and trendy electronic keyboards quite a bit.
Triumph is more of standard classic Rock sound!
Not that I'm bashing Rush. Love Rush. Triumph just used more of the core Rock and Roll style to be great! Timeless.
i hate that the music these days are the "most popular". the only reason i say that is because i counted how many people in my class like rap pop or rock. there is 34 kids in my class and 30 of my class mates like rap and pop better than rock.say WHY to whoever likes rap and pop over rock, and give peace to those that do like classical rock over the fake, not real, made up junk. rock will never die believe me.and i am 14. go classical rock and suck it rap and pop.ROCK WILL LIVE FOREVER.
amazing song. my suggestion would be to block out the 80s crap video/styles/mullet and just listen to the song. Especially the mullet. Block that sh*t out. Great tune. Saw Rik doing a solo show a couple years ago in Austin and he was great. Here we go: best Triumph songs are Blinding Light Show, Fight the Good Fight, Never Surrender, Hold On. Too many others are absolutely fantastic, but those are my top four. Bring it on, MFs!
Awesome kid keep the dream alive my 16 year old hears ya he can not get a band going .
The kids don't have the chops.
Ah,,,,,,,,,yes! From a time when Rock music was made by MEN with fucking BALLS!!! and children were told to shut the fuck up and get to bed or they'd get a boot up the ARSE! and homosexuals were mysterious bunch like aliens from outer space! Everybody had heard of them but nobody actually KNEW one! Such a goooood era it was to live in!
Triumph was underated back in the 80's and is nearly forgotten about these days but will live forever in the fortunate ones that actually still listen and enjoy their music today and always.
For Kmdragon - 2010 >> Masterplan - Time to be King, Avantasia - The Wicked Symphony, Jorn - Dio, Sinbreed - When Worlds Collide, Halford - Made of Metal, Axel Rudi Pell - Crest, Accept - Blood of the Nations, Helloween - 7 Sinners, Vanden Plas - Seraphic Clockwork, Revolution Renaissance - Trinity, Kamelot - Poetry for the Poisoned, Dreamland - Exit 49, Iron Maiden - The Final Frontier, Scorpions - Sting in the Tail, Stratovarius - Elysium (2011) :)
I remember the days...you either loved Triumph or hated them. Half of the haters thought they were a Rush clone. Emmett is a great guitarist and I've always enjoyed him.
To bigpoppa: 80's rock bands were into solid music and lyrics. Lots of light shows and great performances. But they were not into all the glitz and stage productions like Madonna and Lady Gaga and the rest. Just great music sold it. Back then we had lots of Canadian bands that were very popular like Ruch, Loverboy, and Triumph. That is why I only listen to classic 60's, 70's, 80's, and 90's rock.
Somewhere around 90 or 91 when everything became "My life sucks" and "I'm such a whiner"and flannel invaded stages around the world. In some ways, I think the 80s over powered listeners (didn't bother me...lol). The musicianship was so off the charts, that the average person didn't feel they could ever be that good (come on, listen to Rik's voice). Sadly today there is NO inspiration. Everyone sounds the same, acts the same, melts down the same. Very sad.Rock on fellow rockers. Peace.
I grew up in the golden age of rock and roll and never knew it. Figured it would just keep getting better and better. Thanks to corporate America the kids now days have to listen to the no talent rappers redo's.
@viktims you said it! Corporations have taken over everything including music and the product sucks! I'm in my 40's now and remember the classics as if it were yesterday. Keep the candle burning bright for this era of sound.
Amazing song from the other Canadian band! one of my faves...band and song! Rik Emmett was so damn good! Moore was not only a good drummer but an great vocalist ttoo.I saw them in Philly- Nov 1986. Still one of the best lives show I've seen! A class act period! This is such a powerful, inspiring song!
Still living by the lessons laid down in some of the most rockin songs of ALL TIME!!! 2011 and I'm re-living the Texas Jam of days gone by. Keep Rockin My Friends!!!
Oh and guitaristgx, wasnt calling u a fuck. Was just poor gramar, i am an 80's rock n roll fool lol. Its is up to u! Go gettem! Im dead serious, i tried and failed but about to work with my old band mates to try again but my chance is sooo limited, u can make a difference! Make us proud! Im serious! I will give u all my guitar tricks! I used to charge but we need real players out there now not these posers!
i hate being 18 in the year 2011, when all the music i hear around me is boring nowadays. this stuff is AMAZING. i had to grow up with backstreet boys and now justin beiber. why the hell couldn't i have grown up with everyone listening to amazing music like this??????
@GuitaristGX Hey dood, u have the key to changing this! Ur the youth of America, take the reigns and rock us back on track! Fuck nirvana and pearl jam, foo fighters BS, the killers of 80's rock. We r counting on you! Get some of ur bros together and rock it out, get in the clubs and get experieance and write songs from ur heart that rock w melody. Make sure to find a producer to ensure u dont make the garage band mistakes; u need melody and build ups w strong hooks! Now GO get it damn! Fuck!!
@GuitaristGX You could always be the one that brings on the next metal age. Cheers and best wishes fellow rocker...and just remember, it doesn't matter how old you are (I'm 50). Keep on rockin' brother and the music keeps rollin'. Peace.
@GuitaristGX It makes me smile when I hear young people appreciating great music !! I was 14 in 1982 and was lucky enough to see these guys 6 times and it was amazing. Even back then though Triumph was so underrated, but I empathize with you having to grow up with the shit they have now. Growing up in the 80's and 90's was amazing. All we can do now is to share great music like this with our children and hope and pray the next generation will bring it back !! Rock on \m/
@GuitaristGX Does it really matter what everyone else listens to? I was born in 89, always listened to stuff like this, Rush, 80's R.E.M, UFO and the like. Truth be told, there's always going to be bad popular music. But no matter the status symbol, you gotta listen to what you listen to. The outcast aspect of it only makes it better in my opinion, almost like a secret society without the brainwashed fuckery.

No matter how old you are, it's never too late to listen to GOOD music.

Thank you Triumph for making the 80's memorable.
viktims 1 year ago
@viktims you said it! Corporations have taken over everything including music and the product sucks! I'm in my 40's now and remember the classics as if it were yesterday. Keep the candle burning bright for this era of sound.

Amazing song from the other Canadian band! one of my faves...band and song! Rik Emmett was so damn good! Moore was not only a good drummer but an great vocalist ttoo.I saw them in Philly- Nov 1986. Still one of the best lives show I've seen! A class act period! This is such a powerful, inspiring song!
