They were already playing sold out shows in Chicago and New York ( that is where the stage almost collapsed due to the fans). They toured all of south America and the Caribbean. Selena later stated that it was an honor to see other cultures enjoy their music.

Selena lucky had her head on her shoulders and did not think highly of herself she gave back to her community holding many free concerts,donating to charities,helping the needy & being generous to everyone. She lived in a middle class home and never build gates or barricaded to keep people out she actually was open and you can knock on her and she would invite you in to talk she trusted everyone.
