The thing is he is not turning down some of the money he is turning down all of the money. He has ruined our great state of south carolina. He is putting himself out there to run for president. If people elect him as a president they will regret everyday of it as we do in SC. To bad the poor and middle class suffer because of his boneheaded decisions.

Don't foret that the stimulus money is TEMPORARY and is borrowed money -just as your parents should've told you, money doesn't grow on trees. Money is not free - Keep your eyes on the long-run (2 to 5 years), this temp. money will run out within 18 months.... What's wrong with sending your kids to private school? He supports voucher programs which gives more people the opportunity to choose where to send their children.

Oh and Obamas' kids go to private school as well. Their tuition is over $20,000 a year...each.

If the govt wanted you to save the money, it wouldn't be called a stimulus package. The purpose is to SPEND the money to create opportunities to generate more money. It's simple econ 101. Spend more to Make more.

With that said though, all these Republican governors are "turning down" stimulus money. It turns out they're only turning down like 100 million out of several billion. That's hardly "turning down" the money. Are there any governors turning down all of the money?? Not just some insignificant amount. Like Jindal is accepting $3.6B out of the $3.7B being given to his state, yet he is given all this credit for being fiscally conservative lol.
