I respect Yakimov a lot, he is a great instructor. But let´s face some things about this video....The guy in the white gi is making a huge mistake by grabbing Yakimov's back, if you do that any bjj blue belt will put you in an armbar in less than 10 secs. I'm a BJJ purple belt, and perhaps I haven´t been lucky enough to see a good sambo teacher in my city, but from my experience BJJ relies much more on technique than Sambo, which is by far a more physical sport.

my friends always take brazilian jiu jitsu but i think sambo might be more effective for me to take. its got submissions brazilian jiu jitsu probaly has, but isn't big on them.

@nynosix style chooses you, not you choose the style my medium body is made more on sambo bjj,..from exp...you on try it, maybe its you~

@nynosix bjj has better ground tech and instruction and the standard anywhere outside russia is way higher than sambo.BJJ is pissweak on takedowns unless the coach has a background in judo/wrestling.If I had the chance wrestling and bjj would be done together,with wrestling at a younger age.

BJJ is evolution of JJJ, and Sambo is evolution of much more martial arts!

@YMthefirst only combat sambo is a complete martial art,not the sport wrestling style.Id choose wrestling and bjj fusion over sambo anyday but as a single style combat sambo is hard to beat.

All true sambists knows complete Sambo - or combat sambo...

Sport is one thing and martial art is another...

If you choose wrestling and bjj fusion that is not one martial art that is fusion, even some Japanese judo masters think that sambo is better then judo, and in the past Japanese preferred judo against jiu jitsu- because of that you have BJJ now, and which style of wrestling is better is debatable...

Razor armbar. Control the head easier by putting your foot flat on the ground after you step over the head and hooking your heel on his neck so he cant just get his head out.
