  • The day he retired my wife asked me why I was crying. I was near 30 years old, a grown man and I couldn't stop the tears. She never knew baseball, so I couldn't make her understand. I could only tell her about heroes when we're young, the innocence we carry into adulthood and how when one goes away so too does the other. I love baseball. And I love that there's still baseball in Seattle. I wonder if Junior wasn't there if the same would be true. Maybe when my son is old enough, we can discuss it

  • @rtaft1980 ME TOO!!! Just not married...but give a shout out as well to my second fave Buhner...then E. Martinez, T. Martinez, Johnson, Cora....I can go on and on!! Notice how I don't put "steroid-rod" on here! The Mariner team they had was untouchable, and can you imagine if Griffey stayed w/ Ichiro...holly shit!! People say "The Babe and Gehrig"...I say "The Kid and Edgar"...what a combo!!!!!

  • i remember doing book reports on his biography as a kid, favorite player to this day one of the best to ever play the game of baseball

  • I grew up in Seattle and saw Junior play many a times in the kingdome. He was the greatest player I have ever seen play. A 5 tool player who could do it all. NO ROIDS! Even in baseball today in the 2000s i have yet to see anyone play outfield like he did, or have that perfect swing.

  • Kgj is my fav player ever his swing was so sick
