  • Joe got where he is the old fashion way: he divorced himself from the rest of life and dedicated all of his time to his passion. I am watching him on PBS playing the Royal Albert Hall.

12 tears old and playing with BB King and George Thorogood - His Dad can't seem to reiterate how much time his kid spent on that guitar. You Go Joe! - It's pay Off Time!

  • lol that vibrato at 1:00 sent chills down my spine

  • Epiphone has been around 138 years they dont need some fucking idiot that gos by masterbaterxman. And if the rumors are true that EPI wants out will see how long gibson holds on THERE NOT JERK OFF they will fall and fast. take your panzy ass out of here!

  • MasterbaterxMorgan? Really? Yeah, real creative. Last time I checked, I have a girlfriend. Enough said on that.

If no one really gave a fuck, not alot of people would reply. And if nobody gives a fuck, why do you keep replying? You're butthurt pussy, that's why. Enough said on that.

Pig shit? Really? How old are you, five? Your grammar and spelling is among the worst I've ever seen. Enough said on that.

Even OddTimeMan said Gibson is better, so quit bitching. Enough said on that.

  • Masterbaterxmorgan. Do youself a favor just shut the fuck up everytime you open your cock sucker you put your foot in it. I personaly think your retarded so retard Gibson is through period there fuck up days are done and i find it very funny dick eater.

  • Morgan shut the fuck up. Have noticed yet asswipe nobody gives a fuck what you think. Thats because you cant think asshole. You are about the dumbes fucking prick on you tube and your to fucking stupid to see it. piss off you no talent piece of pig shit

  • CHECK OUT OUR JOE BONAMASSA YOUTUBE CONTEST!!

  • @stratdem not seeing an epiphone logo on that headstock....

  • MasterxMorgan do yourself a favor and go fuck yourself. No cares about Gibson havent in years. Now take your sorry ass and your Gibsons too and go convince some 16 year that Gibson is the begining and end. Gibson Blows!

  • That's why people still buy them, even the newer bands, including Homerun. Please do yourself and learn your shit.

  • JOE Bonamassa also plays a Epiphone Gold top Les paul.

  • Who cares about Epiphone?

  • @dazpatreg nah they play two different styles even tho joe was a huge fan

  • Everything he plays just spells Gary Moore to me, the aggressive blues phrasing, the use of odd harmonic minor notes in places, I hope the two of them had a chance to jam together.

  • I want his Goldtop Studio. They have one at Guitar Center. I'm about to GIT IT.

  • model is that the guitar he uses?

  • Looks like an aged '59.

  • I've been waiting a long time for someone who can do the following:

    1. Lay down rock, rock blues and blues tunes that will have you picking your jaw up off the floor. 2. Absolutely rip apart the fretboard by applying multilple techniques and blazing chops (this guy is NOT a one trick pony) from song to song and even within a song. 3. Have a voice that supports his guitar work AND can sing within the framework of multiple styles (rock, blues, rock blues etc..). JOE BONAMASSA is the REAL DEAL!!!

  • dare i say that EC's got nothing on JoeB!

  • Joe Bonamassa's blood is blue!!!

  • Clapton, Kossoff and Page didn't noodle.

  • Can someone please tell me what kind of Les Paul this is?

  • @ASFM11 it looks like a flamed '59, but I'm not an expert.

  • @ASFM11 a gibson

  • You know when it looks so easy how good someone really is.

  • Almost better than the new video by Black Country Communion, Man In The Middle. Check it out for an awesome sound.

  • That's the real fucking tone. a Paul, a good guitarist, and his soul.

  • 28 idiots somehow navigated to this page and accidentally hit the dislike button.

  • PERFECT TONE = MASSIVE CUM

  • Bonamassa rocks!

  • what just happend there?

  • 28 dislikes, must be 28 accordian players. They need a Les Paul smashed around their head.

  • @Jackiesstash08 Please spare the beautiful paulas ^^

  • @Jackiesstash08 Or Fender owners.

  • @abdpg624 yeah...the guitar used by Gilmour, Hendrix, Clapton and SRV sucks..... NOT ....

  • @ArianeQube I agree. The different guitars are like different food tastes. Just because I'm loving my Italian meal today doesn't mean I won't want to have a Mexican meal tomorrow. I have a Les Paul and a Strat (and other guitars), but I enjoy playing both equally (to be honest, I'm a bit more into my Les Paul at the moment), but each is it's own thing. It's subjective. One is not better than the other.

  • thumbs up if you heard cowboys from hell @ 1:03

  • perfect guitar one day i have one =D

  • does joe give onlinelessen or are there any videos in youtube ??

  • listen to that tone

  • nice check mine:

    /watch?v=Hk1CIefad-Y

  • I just love watching vides of Joe jamming by himself like this. He's a very clean player, even when he goes into complex lines. And it doesn't hurt that he's such a kind down-to-earth fellow, and doesn't have the big ego syndrome. What a talent he is!

  • wicked tone!

  • This is good but Liked Joe best when he was playing his gold Strat

  • grand master

  • Joe Bonamassa is the guy John Mayer wishes he was. Well Joe or Stevie Ray Vaughan.

  • @robibm2003 John Mayer is a pussy.

  • Did he just bend a note above the nut? I didn't know that was possible.

  • great!!

  • oh mein gott das ist ein gott xD

  • I was the 666'th thumbs up! Joe is a sick player. Check my profile for more of his vids.

  • Is it a real burst or a Ri ?

  • @raconei its a reissue, but he has real 63' PAF pickups in it and he changed the tuners to grovers.

  • @raconei a real brust you can see the aged M.O.P gibson logo cheers!

  • Gonna catch him in Pittsburgh in march. Can't wait!

  • Joe and his les Paul.

  • I didn't know about joe bonamassa at school, and I just realised how much he looks like one of my best friends

"Watch, listen and learn" hell yes .but every body

  • i really wanna go to his show saturday night. he's playin at the durham performing arts center, down here in NC. too bad i can't show.

  • He was about to cry!

  • he looks like dwight from the office and eddie trunk. XD

  • my head almost exploded with sheer joy.

  • thanks for helping us spread the word friends. Please go to Joe's Official Channel and subscribe!

  • I really admired his talent earlier in life. I think he's really good.

  • BEAST

  • He looks a lot like Jeff Healey. Apparently he shares his talent too.

  • hey anyone know what technique is that at 0:47 to 0:49??

  • @biggy484 Staccato palm mutes. I think he might also be finger plucking that part.

  • oh man its like sex with the guitar!!!!epic!!!

  • I said plat hahaha

  • Gibson.....Even a Dork can make one sound good!Dont Pick On The Brand kid has Talent! What He Does not realize...Ya gotta be drunk or high to plat like the legends.

  • I love this guy.............................

  • I heard Zeppelin "bring it on home " at 1:10.

  • He's probably thinking about what he'll eat for lunch when he's shredding like that.

  • this is absolutely outrageous! tone, phrasing, speed, emotion, all perfect.

great licks! i wish i could play half as good....

  • He is keeping Gibson in the game!! Thanks Joe. Ben Robinson

  • @metalorgienorway dude if you're into Chris Barnes' era of CC, check this out wwwjbonamassacom

  • wow, 2:09 was spot on jimmy! lol joe kicks ass

  • the man sure knows how to work the pentatonic scale

  • fat stupid face, but he plays so good!!

  • @cyanidde Stupid response.

  • thats a sick les paul

  • Excellent !!

  • I'm stealing some licks from this video, too. As for the shredding debate, music is about quality, not quantity. Carlos Santana doesn't shred, but he is an incredible guitarist, as is B.B. Those guys play with soul, not technical wizardry. Joe is a phenomenal player, but he doesn't have the soul of Carlos or B.B.

  • @timoarthur

Shred can be just as "soulful" as blues music (not that Joe is a shred guitarist...at all btw) the feeling you interpret as "soul" is intrinsic to you, and you are projecting it on to songs or artists you like; also, quality and "soul" are most certainly not at odds with one another, complex music can be just as emotionally powerful as simple music, both of which I love, you and everyone else that have ever said that complex music lacks soul can go fornicate yourselves.

  • @carswell98 There's no need for disrespect here, brother. Just stating my view. 'Complex' just doesn't appeal to me as much as 'simple' music does. I'll take BB King over Steve Vai anyday. Vai uses all kinds of different modes, picking and tapping techniques, arpeggios, synths, samples, etc. BB just plays the old-fashoined way...simple and to the point, no BS. That's what I like. But I can get into Vai and Joe, too sometimes (two very different styles, I know).

  • @carswell98 yea because it seems to be that people think that slow, basic guitar playing is equivalent to "soulful" playing.. I think the truth is that guitar players that are very technically proficient just challenge most ppls minds too much.. so theyd rather listen to a BB King for instance.. music can use techniques like shredding, finger tapping, complex chord and scale usage and still be very soulful...

  • @atl2maryland funny isn't it i have played in bands where i never once showed my shred head live .people then complimenting me on my playing .my feel .my style until i show them a bit of shred and then the attitude changes it like they think im either one or the other, but i couldn't possibly be both . the worse sort of snobbery.

  • can somebody post lesson from this

  • He is not shreder you fools

  • He makes blues seems simple...

  • He may well have been playing with BB King when he was 12. Trouble is that Joe is trying to put all of BB's notes into one song. BB is able to express more about the blues with one long held vibrato than Joe can with his busy style. As I said Joe is just another shredder. Sorry I don't go for hero worship like all of the posters here.

  • @barnoo listen to sloe gin boyo

altho i do bb is the absolute master of feel, joe ent just a "another shredder"

  • @barnoo what the fuck are you talking about? you obviously havent heard any songs from him, why would you even call him a shredder? thats low....

  • Sorry to all of you zealots. This guy's playing is just too busy. Its like he needs to fill a void with as many notes as he can. He's just another shredder. Different species that's all. He would do well to listen and watch the very people he talks about a bit more. Most notably BB King.

  • @barnoo Uh...ya this guy was playing WITH BB King when he was 12. I think he's listened and watched more than anyone.

  • @barnoo needs a chill pill......he's jealous.....so he puts down those players that excel in the blues........is Gary Moore next?

barnoo you just wish you could play half of this sh*t he plays......so instead of a complement you throw a jab!

  • One thing that I love about Joe's playing is that he can, with his amazing vibrato, sound like he's playing slide when he's not. Anyone see what I'm talking about?

  • @retrac314

great observation.....I saw Joe live with a 335 and a Twin amp and I was just awed!!!

but then again, barnoo thinks Joe plays too many licks and steal too much from BB.....haven't we all?

  • thank you!

  • who was the guy he mentioned after Clapton?

  • Paul Kossoff, he was the guitar player for the band Free, check out the album Tons Of Sobs

  • @jimmykrohl thanks dude.

  • That would be Paul Kossoff of Free

  • Paul Kossoff of Free

  • paul kossoff from the band free

  • Just saw his show @ the orphium theater kickass show I met him got his new signed and when I was leaving he gave me his encore pick :D

  • bad ass, esp when he demonstrates his version of b.b. king. My jaw's dropped!!

  • love the agressive vibrato at 1:01

  • I want a les paul now. Smart move by gibson.

  • what 4 ? just listen ;-)

  • can anyone tab out this?

  • @rhoads2176 it's in E, just learn that scale and improv on it:D

  • i no its more than just that tho, he uses mixolydian for a little bit than does some dorian over the f sharp i like the part where he uses the legatto slash economy style picking, his pentatonics are awesomei found a vid where he teaches one of his licks hes very original harrd to play his stuff by ear 100%

  • @rhoads2176

please get a freakin life, please!!!!!

pick up your guitar, close ur eyes, and play by "feel".......please!!!

    live it, don't diagram it!!!

  • @Thomasikzelf Learn the E scale?? There is no such thing as an E scale. E is a key, not a scale. You mean the E pentatonic scale. That is the scale Joe Bonamassa is using, with slight references to the blues scale, and some notes from the Aeolian Mode (Minor Scale).

  • @AyanRafique

bla bla bla....just play the blues....ya think BB knows the pentantonic or the mixolydian???

    BB just plays the blues!!!

you guys need a brain job!

  • @rickyredhead Lol your right in a way....meh

  • Joe Bonamassa just has that dirty ass gritty style that i love so much.

  • so proud of him for losing that weight. his show at Royal Albert Hall was incredible. I saw him in Charlotte a few months ago.....probably the best live show i've ever seen.

  • what a fucking king!

  • sick. his chin makes me sick though.

  • cool bro

  • i meant, his playing is awesome, his chin just fucking wigs me out for some reason.

  • STAR POWAAAA

  • what chord is he using at 0:27... i like this kind of blues sound

  • Comment removed

  • Playing behind the nut does throw it out of tune ! Thought it was just my cheapo geetar..

  • @Peddant It should not throw the guitar out of tune. Joe doesn't seem to know much about his actual guitar setup. A properly cut nut with some graphite will do the trick. Bend away behind the nut. Its an old tried and true technique and a well known method for keping the guitar in tune.

  • ive never done that before, but just thinking logically here, but wouldnt it have more to do with what gauge string compared to the nut file width? if the string is slightly thicker than the nut slot, when he did that bend thing the string would be pullled back but not returned to its original position afterwards. whereas if the string was skinnier (or the file slot was wider) there would be less traction

  • wow i learned some great licks watching this vid

  • Hes the shredder out of the bluesmusicians....amazing skills!

    and a very cool guy:

  • thats the most beautiful les paul i've ever seen, god damn. lol

  • it s a lp gibson 59 2003 tom murphy!!!

  • @reman94 Agreed! But are you sure about the year? The fret markers don't look right and in 03' they switched to the les figured Eastern Maple. (Yes, I have one) I place this guitar around 98', but I don't know much about Joe's gear.

  • i love this dude.

  • He is an excellent player. He doesnt really play blues true to its essence though imo there's some rock in there but he pulls it off

  • Some of the best guitar playing I've seen.

  • i love his last comment.

  • He could make any guitar sound good. Its the player not the guitar.

  • @dancingrabbit42

One of the most true you'll ever hear in music :)

  • for what i know, it's a '59 reissue, with original PAFs

  • That Is What I Think, He Has Done That With A Tom Murphy 59' Reissue And Put Original 63' PAFs.

  • he gutted a 335 for the PAF's

  • Yep (Y)

  • @mrflash777 Actually I believe that guitar is his orginal '59

  • @murfdog19

Don't think so, unless he changed tuners.

Orig. '59 has tulip type ones.

  • Holy crap i go to school with this guys nephew and he is awesome at guitar

  • Tell him I said hi, lol

  • good player!

  • That guitar sounds soo good, what model is it?

  • Duh, it's a Gibson Les, let's see Les Joe, Les Tom, Les Bill, Les Paul...yeah, that's it, Les Paul. I think.

  • Right, and there's only one kind of Les Paul model. Right.

  • Oh my god! thankyou, ronnie! That is it! Thankyou so much!

There is only one les paul model! there arn't any sub-models like custom, reissue, studio, no, thankyou so much again!
