amazing video takes me back to when i used to calculate my chances against bosses like yiazmat and hellwyrm i maxed out all the characters got the best weapons and i beat the crap out of evry boss there was i put in more than 1000 hours playing this its the best game ever no matter what people say they are just too stupid to play a game like this cant wait for the sequel even though gabranth isnt in it but its still gonna be great thumbs up if you think this is the best game made by square-enix

you know. honestly, he wasn't a difficult boss. As long as you kept your health up and set your gambits right, he was pretty easy. The only difficult thing about this boss is the length of the battle.

Ok, I am SO NOT looking forward to fighting him, i got everything done apart from Omega XII, Hell Wyrm and Yiazmat and still need Zodiac Spear and Tournesol...avg lvl of party is 80-85, still a ways to go...but really dreading this fight. You can't say you've 100%ed this game without killing him

Y do people keep moaning about these kind of bosses? The makers create these bosses with ridiculous stats because it gives those talented at FF a challenge. back in the day people thought Emerald weapon in FF7 was challenging, but there are now strats to kill it in one hit. Bosses like Emerald, Penance, and Yiazmat are side quests made for those people who like a challenge and think they are the Don at FF games. if you dont like the idea of a hard-to-beat-boss then play a different game
I have to agree with wslb2009, who the hell creates a beast with so much HP?!?!?!? Hell wyrm was long enough, i just completed yiazmat took me fukin ages. Didnt use the reverse technique, used maximillian genji gear and circlets,
7 bloody stages it took too, and over 200 phoenix downs, found vaan good, all genji gear, ninja sword, and bravery, haste, protect, and berserk, other 2 fighters healing. when i ran outa magic either syphoned off whoever was beserked and swap beserk duites.
I remember defeating Yiazmat. All characters were at lvl 99. I used Vaan (Ultima Blade), Basch(Zodiac Spear), and Ashe (Tournesol). Didn't really care about combos and genji armor. I still killed him in around an hour and a half. I was like "Thank god I finally beat down this dickhead" lol.
heh. I remember once I was fighting him. Just a sliver of his HP left. so I decided to use Myst. I did the best Myst I had ever done. The last attack on there was of Holy element. When it cleared, I looked at his HP, and sees that his health had COMPLEATLY restored. I never did that again.
well my friend that is a hard goal to reach u may want to switch to items as soon as it passes half way this game is desinded to cope with any situation so he might just keep using deathstrike on u all the time if u do that

When I read through the strategy guide of Final Fantasy XII I saw the health on this thing and I read: 50'112'254. And an attack of 107 (That'd be 2'500-3'000 hitpoints inflicted) I was like "Bloody hell and i've gotta fight this!! When I did fight it (And after three hours killed it) I was like "Wow, I killed him?!!"
Yiazmat was no fun to fight... I really enjoyed my fight with hell wyrm and i killed him in one attempt, first time ever fighting him, with level 68 characters... The best fight of my gaming career... Yiazmat is just boring...
i remember when i beat yiazmat... it took like 5 hours, it was the most boring video game boss i ever fought. For like the first 3 hours you don't even need to touch your controller, then you need to start paying attention near the end because he keeps owning your characters.
Jeez he took forever to beat.The first half of the round i fell asleep.When i woke up later he was gonna die.Then i went back to sleep only knowing that yiazmat died.I used Ashe Vaan and Basch at lvl 73-75 with a tournelson ultima and a save the queen i think?
its time based. U tell the characters to attack, like ur giving them orders... they will attack when the gauge fills up. its faster than the older games, u had to wait for the gauge to fill up before u could enter the commands in... this game has the best battle system but still to easy, like all ff games
It sucks when he casts reflectga on you and you accidentally had renew on as a gambit. It happened to me twice. Luckily, both times, I was only like 5 minutes in from my last save.
i have a question, does yiazmat cast invert, cause if u put reflectaga on the party before he does, then it will lose 90 percent pf its health, i think
it took me 4 rounds when i beat him, I got tired of getting the necessary items to use the reverse/decoy 1 hour method, so I just managed to take his attacks while constantly healing and attacking, took me 4 hours and 30 minutes in total
For me, Yiazmat wasn't that hard. I killed him in only two round only because I ran away too long and he had time to recover. I was tired that night so I decided to save and quit. the only trouble with this guy is his HP and his berserk mode when he is near death.
lol i just beat yiazmat like an hour ago.. i got so pissed off that i had to just use bubble belts for the last health bar. took me about 12 hours in a 2 day span, and it took me 23 stages. I reccomend using Zodiark if you have him.... put stone on ur character and let him use Final Eclipse...it always hits 50000
does it still possible 4 me to beat Yiazmat at 73 of Vaan,Basch n Balthier.Coz I need 30+mins just to scratch him to half of its HP(less I think) before my sis asked me to go out lookin for some food outside!

I beat Yiazmat with all characters at lvl 99, my A-Team were armed with the Ragnarok, the Tournesol and the Zodiac Spear, and it took me 8 stages and exactly 5 hours!
I kept leaving to save coz I was so worried that I would die and have to start all over again. It was so hard. Jeez, I'm dreading fighting Omega MKXII, especially since I've got the European version, he has more health on that one than on the NA version right?
BTW, Who the hell said they beat Yiazmat in 25mins? Are you dented? It can't be done that quick, even at the highest level, as supported by my previous comment.

batrider2007, Hell Wyrm and Yazmat you don't have to defeat them in one try, but Omega MKXII, when you go out to save(etc...) his HP will be full, so you have to defeat him in one try...
All you have to do is leave the immediate ring and head up the hill where he can't attack you, even before you cross the blue dotted line to leave the map screen. That will refill his health.
well, why don't you look in the web for some leveling spots? Or just find'em yourself...Anyway (refering to the vid now), stage 32 is not exactly good, i think you could do better, but it's done...
the stair glitch is a glitch that makes it so he can't hit you, if you go under the staircase in the arena you can attack him but he is so big he can't go under the case, and his attacks will negate themselves. there's a video on youtube about it, i'll try to find the link for you
I'm not even close to this part of the game, yet I have everyone completely filled out on the license board, and they finished that around lvl 50. I'm just getting to Gilgamesh and going through The Ancient City of Giruvegan. Chances are, I'll do pretty good against Hell Wyrm and Yiazmat. I've seen some pretty good strategies for defeating this beast. Its so beautiful, yet so...destructive. Great job!
there is this junction in the eastern section of the Henne mines that a bunch of abbstyes attack u set up your gambits to foe cast sleepga and then after that Foe curaja. this is the best leveling up spot in the game

a good way to do damage is if you have Zodiark then cast break on yourself and summon him then he will automatically do his move where what looks like he blows up the universe
ok.for example.when facing the superbosses such as Hell Wyrm,Yiazmat,and Omega Mark XII.you dont have to defeat them in one try.you can always leave the room to heal,stock up,and save your game.then go back in again.but make sure that you dispel the boss before fighting.if you go to the boss room again.stage 2 will appear on the top right corner where the map is.dont worry about the stages.the bosses only gets harder when their hit points is low.good luck.

it took me 4 rounds when i beat him, I got tired of getting the necessary items to use the reverse/decoy 1 hour method, so I just managed to take his attacks while constantly healing and attacking, took me 4 hours and 30 minutes in total

For me, Yiazmat wasn't that hard. I killed him in only two round only because I ran away too long and he had time to recover. I was tired that night so I decided to save and quit. the only trouble with this guy is his HP and his berserk mode when he is near death.

lol i just beat yiazmat like an hour ago.. i got so pissed off that i had to just use bubble belts for the last health bar. took me about 12 hours in a 2 day span, and it took me 23 stages. I reccomend using Zodiark if you have him.... put stone on ur character and let him use Final Eclipse...it always hits 50000

level 73 is a bit not enough to defeat Yiazmat...you have to be at 85 or more.
remove the half of his life is pretty easy,but all become very difficult after since Yiazmat hits like a fury!!!

i hated fighting against yiazmat... it isnt hp that makes enemy though... there should be like insane attacks etc. but 50million hp!?!? its only long fight, not so difficult... btw sry about my bad english im from finland... :)

if you stand behind that big rock when you fight fafnir he cant reach you so just keep mashing him with spells and stuff and after a good 25 minutes he'll die

I beat Yiazmat with all characters at lvl 99, my A-Team were armed with the Ragnarok, the Tournesol and the Zodiac Spear, and it took me 8 stages and exactly 5 hours!
I kept leaving to save coz I was so worried that I would die and have to start all over again. It was so hard. Jeez, I'm dreading fighting Omega MKXII, especially since I've got the European version, he has more health on that one than on the NA version right?

I tried to beat Yiazmat w/ Vaan lvl 75 and the others 60. I had taken him at 3 hours half of his HP. Then He trapped me in a corner and casted death strike without stop... Fuck!!!!! YIAZMAT YOU SOAB... AT THE EASTER HOLIDAYS IM COMING TO GET YOU ASSHOLE!!!!!!!

batrider2007, Hell Wyrm and Yazmat you don't have to defeat them in one try, but Omega MKXII, when you go out to save(etc...) his HP will be full, so you have to defeat him in one try...

All you have to do is leave the immediate ring and head up the hill where he can't attack you, even before you cross the blue dotted line to leave the map screen. That will refill his health.

the stair glitch is a glitch that makes it so he can't hit you, if you go under the staircase in the arena you can attack him but he is so big he can't go under the case, and his attacks will negate themselves. there's a video on youtube about it, i'll try to find the link for you

I'm not even close to this part of the game, yet I have everyone completely filled out on the license board, and they finished that around lvl 50. I'm just getting to Gilgamesh and going through The Ancient City of Giruvegan. Chances are, I'll do pretty good against Hell Wyrm and Yiazmat. I've seen some pretty good strategies for defeating this beast. Its so beautiful, yet so...destructive. Great job!

there is this junction in the eastern section of the Henne mines that a bunch of abbstyes attack u set up your gambits to foe cast sleepga and then after that Foe curaja. this is the best leveling up spot in the game

a good way to do damage is if you have Zodiark then cast break on yourself and summon him then he will automatically do his move where what looks like he blows up the universe

ok.for example.when facing the superbosses such as Hell Wyrm,Yiazmat,and Omega Mark XII.you dont have to defeat them in one try.you can always leave the room to heal,stock up,and save your game.then go back in again.but make sure that you dispel the boss before fighting.if you go to the boss room again.stage 2 will appear on the top right corner where the map is.dont worry about the stages.the bosses only gets harder when their hit points is low.good luck.
