  • Thank you.

  • Seen him @ Cropredy in 1993. Great stage charisma : D

  • @Detroit1967

    Any link or video plz?

  • Well now...this is AWESOME...

  • You are right, they are good musicians!!!! Má pravdu, ten chlapec!

  • Fantastic! Thanks for sharing!

  • Steve Lightfoot, what you reckon?

  • Crickey moses! I was in the audience for that!

  • He should really write crosswords for the telegraph. Hmmm

  • WOW, never heard this before, thanks for posting it ...

  • A very pale imitation of the great man. The fiddle had no place and the vocal was weak. Why is the original Muddy Waters not available on Youtube?

  • @sadoldemilio theyre not trying to imitate muddy waters its just their own arrangment around the melody, I think its great.

  • @CCSofChocolatesvill Yeah OK - I was mainly mad that I couldn't find the original on Youtube.

  • Giganci ! muzycy którzy mają za sobą lata w Led Zeppelin, Jethro Tull czy Fairport Convention to absolutna czołówka brytyjskich muzyków - jedność folku, rocka i bluesa !

  • please God if anybody is listening

    reupload that version of

"when the last fair deal goes down"

one of the greatest moments of Robert's career.

and you're talkin' to a guy who's seen zeppelin 15 times.

  • what a tribute to muddy waters...blues 4 ever......who give a fuck who did what, cheesy bass lines wtf,u might play better pal, difference is this fella has a blues feel.i met robert plant all those years ago in sydney....what a fucking legend......hip,hip,hooray!!!!

  • Robert Plant is God

  • Perfect blues vocal from Plant...ditto guitar work from Thompson and Donahue. (But I could have done without that damned fiddle, sorry! :) )

  • the fiddle adds to the flavor

  • I was there!

  • this may be hard to believe but me and 2 buddies saw Fairport and Led Zep jam at the Troubadour sometime in the 70's. we were the only 3 non-crew in the house.

    dna

  • The rumour was that Richard played Jimmy Page off the stage - shame there's no recording!!

  • 29/12/08 Happy New Year- feel lucky to hear this because the pink bar says removed, usage violation! Rock on.

  • Sorry, the pink bar reffered to the previous song in my blues playlist.

  • Aloha just amazing! Go PEGGY AND PLANT,FAIRPORT ...PUTTING THIS ON KLOS NOW PEGGY ALONG WITH THIS YEARS. CROPERDY AND PLANT!! CHEERS MATE NURSE SUSAN ,BIG ISLAND OF HAWAII. XOXO

  • CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT BASS!!!!!!!!

  • i know, its such a cheesy bass line! like a fucking demo from a casio!!

  • He was at Cropredy again this year check out video from Farnishk

  • Apparently Plant and Page turned up with Fairport at Kinver last week in a small unannounced benefit gig for a local village hall restoration. Any footage anywhere?. I`m told they did Black Dog and another Zep song.

  • Report is wrong. Plant teamed up with Fairport & did a cover of "The Battle Of Evermore" with Christina Donahue covering Sandy Dennys vocals. I've posted a video but waiting for it to be approved.

  • Far out, man. Exceptional combination.

  • That is some incredible guitar playing from both, but especially from the latter. Is that Jerry Donohue?

  • This is quite a chestnut. Richard Thompson is just about the best guitar player on the planet, but you almost never hear him play straight blues, and you hear practically no blues influence in any of his playing, which is remarkable for a rock guitarist. Here he seems to have very little interest in performing the song, like he can't wait for it to end.

    RT rules, by the way!

  • I was there!!

    It was phenomenal!!

  • man i wish he would come along this year cuz im going...

  • Richard or Robert? Robert was there, as you already know. I wish I could be IN BRITAIN to see RT.

  • i didnt know pegg's roots ran that deep.

  • rock on!!!!!!wow

  • I was at this gig and can't believe that it is 21 years ago. I was there with my mate Keith and we were drinking lots of 6X, what a great weekend it was. Happy days eh, I only turned 18 a few weeks ealier!

  • Fairport playing blues? This can happen?

  • Mr Lacey? You're Gonna Need My Help? Do those count?

  • oooops thats not sarb on fiddle...

allow me to correct my own mistake...

and now i'll just shut up and listen (again and again!!)

  • It's Ric Sanders. I know, cos I was there.

  • RT JD and RP all on the same stage..

and DS on fiddle too!! OMG!! :-D

TOO COOL!! Jerry's solo just kills me!!

  • Aww, how young they all look. And check out Ric's glasses! Amazing.

  • Playfull and relaxed. Brilliant. Tanks!

  • fantastic thankyou!

  • excellent - didn't even know this existed. Anybody know how to save this clip in youtube? Plant at his best before selling himself out with yawner zeppelin material beginning in 1988.

  • message sent; excellent video, Sirpatrick, is there more from this gig?

  • Marvellous
