SRK is loved only by girls...cos he's kind of more emotional person..c'mon u gotta give him credit...he wouldn't do so well if everybody hated him...he's very natural an actor....people like ajay devgan..hats off to that guy, or saif, and hritik have the extreme potential for acting. these guys would do excelllent even in documentaries n stuff...ajay has also won 2 national awards, while SRK never has or probably never will...he's more the regular movie actor!

When you talk about documentaries..I think you are forgetting SWADES! Perhaps no one could have given justice to that script. No one can match with Srk's ability to act without a dialogue...check out the Scene from swades where he is

SRK is more an actor for the lobby than an actor for the niche audience as opposed to men like P'Shree Kamal Hassan, Om Puri, Naseeruddin Shah, Aamir Khan and to a lesser degree Kay Kay Menon and Pankaj Kapoor and women like Shabana Azmi, Tabu, Nandita Das and Dimple Kapadia.
At the end of the day we need both -- crowd entertainers as well as niche actors. They'd never attract the same audience though!
Also I feel that SRK's most notable performances came in films where he got very less success and recognition-- Dil Se (one of the best I've seen), Paheli, Asoka and Anjaam -- are a few names that come to mind.
To me Swades and Paheli should also have got a much better response from the audiences. Indian audience still isn't as mature and classy as our western counterparts, apparently.
however the moment i hear names like koi mil gaya and lagaan and lakshya and all my mind immediately goes to the brilliance of the "ACTING" skills exhibited by hrithik and amir ..thats the difference and i guess thats where hrithik and amir stand out from sharukh..
