Not sure if this has been mentioned, but this music video was supposedly inspired by Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. In fact, even their name These Arms Are Snakes I heard or read somewhere came about because they thought it sounded like something Hunter S. Thompson would write.

Knowing that it's always a different aspect people notice (or that appeals to them) I'd be uncomfortable pointing directly at any bands (Hot Cross ca. Risk Revival jumps to mind for me, but who the hell knows? They are very different vocally, and have a slightly different approach all around--perhaps the intensity is what connects for me? Check out the song "Turncoat Revolution" though, for the sort I'm thinking of)
