  • his mama is so adorableee!

  • Unwavering belief - you NEED that.

  • 3:15 Freddie looks so sexy!

  • i cant believe they doubted freddie's singing :| .. his voice is amazing!!

  • So we have to thank Freddie's mother for giving birth to 'Farook' and thank Tim Staffell for self confessed "stepping a side" and giving us Queen -Wow!

  • queen: princes of the universe

  • i really love this doccumentary its so owesome...

  • thanks for sharing this documentary on freddie;s life. Freddie was born to be a star , nothing less ! .......with or without Queen , Freddie was so too talented.

  • "I didn't have it in me to do what Freddie did." "I was never a showman... I really wasn't the writer that Freddie was." Tim Staffel seems like a very humble and cool guy who knows and admits that he couldn't have done what Freddie did. He knows Queen/Smile would never have achieved what they did had he remained in the band. I dunno why some are bashing him, he seems very humble and honest about things. And I would also thank him for moving aside and giving Freddie his chance to shine. :)

  • Tim Staffel is honest!!!!

He is glad he moved for sake of his old band members and for Freddie sake!

Without him Freddie had a chance to prove to world how huge talent he is!

Thank you Tim Staffel for giving a chance to our beloved Freddie!

  • Tim Staffel is very cool. Not many men I know would be so calm and laid back in view of the largesse that was "Queen". But good for him-he is straight up and honest. Supportive and kind. What a cool cat.

  • @Wlwhtdyt whats he going to say, "i was better than that asshole freddy!"?

  • Tim Staffel is very cool.

  • whats the song at 3:15 - 3:36 cos it is sooooooooooooo beautiful xx

  • song is called: Keep passin' the open windows

  • Love the half mic stand story, :D

  • What an idiot! Queen would have happened (because of Freddie and the existing members of Queen) whether Tim whatever got out of the way or not!

  • THAT PICTURE N THE BEGINNING LOOKS LIKE MJ

  • this documentary is really impacting, before i saw this i was very upset about his death but now im just really grateful that i got to see and be able to admire such a talenteed man.looking at tim im really appreciative that he stepped aside and letting freddie do his thing thus inspire millions

  • Who the hell is TimStaffel??? What did he achieve?

  • freddie is multi-talented

  • I love hearing the story behind the half mic stand. I just love Freddie Mercury so much!!

  • I saw Queen in Feb 1976 at Dane County Coliseum.....Totally mesmerizing...It was at the time Bohemian Rhapsody was the shit. 2 Hours of pure energy. As great as Freddie was at commanding the stage, Deacon, Taylor and May proved that they belonged together int his band. Sheer Heart Attack-one of the most underrated Rock Albums of Alll Time

  • @farmasyst holy shit - what a wonderful experience you had - Im envious as hell

  • @farmasyst

You're really lucky. I was born 6 years after he died.I never saw him live. I regret the day I was born late :D

  • it's bad that all viewers discuss Freddie's sexual life, or just leave comments like "wow Queen is the best band ever!!! etc." this part of untold story is really cool- i like it most, because we can see his sketches, hear his early tapes. that's really unbelievable how uncertain and constrained his voice is. like he was NOT SURE that he's a real star, a real (best) singer!

  • You can tell Tim is a bit full of himself by the way he words things. Like saying "if I hadn't moved out of the way, the world would be a different place" emphasizing himself over Freddie. Just something I noticed.

Nice documentary, I was really in the mood for something like this!

  • full of himself? he failed lol, who would be proud of that? he is merely stating the truth.

  • Freddie was so inteligent.

  • his sister is sweet :o)

  • @tjf4375

    Omfg... U are sick!

  • Eh? Why? I meant that Freddie's sister comes across to me as a sweet person. If you're placing some sort of sick interpretation on that, it's your problem.

  • @tjf4375

... In my eyes ur was saying that she is like a person tou had a chrush on! Pardon...

  • luv her

  • Comment removed

  • Freddie gave the world fantastic music and fantastic entertainment, he was/is loved by millions...unlike you mohamheadz, your kind give negativity and hatred to the world.

  • my apologies then, I misinterpreted what you wrote.

  • Thank heaven for Freddie's vision--it was the making of Queen. And Tim does say "showman" (no idea why you think he says shallow man--other than the accent).

  • He says showman, not shallow. The brit accent

  • Where did you get shallow man from? It was quite obvious Tim said showman.

  • When he died I was only 7 years old. But I've always admired him. His voice is so incomparable and touching. I really wish that somebody could make him alive again.

  • wooow u know wat im doin right now im doin a project for school bout Freddie hez truley awesome!!

  • Soon, Freddi Mercury will be resurrected by Jesuschrist and will sing again in Paradise, like Jehovah Withness. Will be delightfull.

  • why did freddy have to die the year before I was born? T.T

  • He is and was still very very special. We all miss you freddie.

  • "well okay..."= Freddie = smile--Queen = greatest band on earth

  • his friend looks like Bill Clinton

  • he wasnt gay, he was bisexual actually

  • @2:33 HAHAHAHA 'pomming everybody' ROFL lil freddie boy you're way too cute for a rock star.

  • brian may, ure great too!!

  • Isn't great that Tim isn't bitter but a true music lover. Other artists who leave a band early and then the band goes on to become huge are often bitter and twisted.

  • yeah, I was going to mention that. It is cool that there isnt any bitterness and you can tell that he admired Freddie. Who wouldn't.

  • Did freddy ever mingle with andy warhol? Great Talent all around he was.

  • I love hearing these stories about how great bands formed. Great Video

  • what is the song at over the video ??

  • " My Fairy King" from Queen first album "Queen I".

  • @SiniaDiva Polar - Smile... Tim's singing lead vocal

  • @ryanjones1983 I don't think so... I asked about song in the over of video when there is some kind of ,,frost Queen's picture". But it was a year ago. Now i know - this song is called My Fairy King :)

  • what was freddie NOT good at?? lol :P

  • he actually fuked way more women than you can imagine. he was bi sexual u know

  • but was he good at it.

  • nope. he was a Gay man. that's why he was such a great singer

  • whats that song with freddie singing in the begining

  • its called the millionaire waltz

  • It's on their album "A Day At the Races" a very mixed album, maybe not everything is for everyone. But I consider it one of their best !

  • wow great paintings and drawings:o

  • No doubt, QUEEN is the greatest band of all time...

  • Nearly...

  • no not nearly!!!

    they are

  • Not against The Smiths, The Beatles, The Byrds, Radiohead,,,

  • Uh, Bealtes, yes. Everyone else, no.

  • @xtfighter13 thank u Tim for moving away!!!!!!!! i love Freddie x ever!!!!!!!!!

  • Haha that guy thinks he INVENTED Queen!

  • lol, that Tim Staffell now feels very important.

  • i love queen and i love freddie. he will always be in my heart.

  • do not want to be insensitive but who the fuck is this bass player from "ibex"??

  • If you'd paid more attention to the video and less to leaving comments that prove you hadn't, you would know that already...

  • Yeah Tim is very honest and humble. He is saying that it's good that he decided to move on to other things, because the world is better having had Queen. Props to Tim. And Ironwind1972, your comment is so ridiculous. Gay or straight, who cares? The guy made AMAZING music.

  • He could have gotten AIDS whether he was gay or not. Straight people get AIDS and so do gay people... so you can't say that.

  • OK, it is true that anyone can get AIDS - it's a virus, it doesn't care what your sexuality is. That said, let's escape from political correctness. Fact: There are certain activities that can increase your exposure to the disease. Fact: AIDS occurs more frequently in gay people than straight people. Don't get offended by this. I agree with Ironwind1972, whilst it may be uncomfortable for some people to accept, it is highly probable that Freddie would still be alive had he not been gay.

  • I the issue is that the pasive partner (either in a straight or gay relationship) is far more likely to get infected.

So we could say a lot of "ifs".

If he wasn't gay, if he was exclusively the active partner, if he had used a condom, etc...

  • True there are many "ifs" but probability is probability. Brian, Roger and John are still alive despite perhaps taking risks of their own, but Freddie took a bigger risk, which was gay sex. I mean, I haven't read anywhere that he became HIV infected by other means such as a blood transfusion. I have great admiration for Mercury the musician and I haven't got anything against gay people - nobody chooses their sexuality. What is really wrong, is propaganda.

  • I would say the bigger risk was unprotected sex.

  • i agree with crisstti. its also known that freddie and kenny everett used to share the same boyfriends (or something along those lines) and they both contracted HIV off of the same guy.

  • u r an ignorant idiot!

  • You know, just when you think Freddie Mercury couldn't get anymore talented, you discover that he is a fantastic artist.

I'm starting to think he wasn't of this world.

  • even freddie's early band years sounded really good.

  • So easy to bash Tim Staffel, he's "the man who didn't stay in the band"... I think the man is pretty smart and honest when he admits "Smile" would never have been with him what Queen became with Freddie. And yes if he didn't quit the band (he was the lead singer of it) maybe Freddie wouldn't have joined them... So instead of bashing, let's thank him for what he did. "i'm glad i moved out of the way" he says. He's not taking credit, he admits he didn't belong to that band. The man is Fair-play...

  • Yeah I believe he is being very humble and decent when he says what he says. And he probably was a very competent singer as well, just not the frontman that Freddie was.

  • His sister looks so much like him.

  • that's right Tim...There is only one best frontman and that is Freddie....sucks to be you...

  • lol Tim Staffel just loves to think he's responsible for Queen.

  • omg, i know! haha, he told us that like 5 times in the movie

  • hahahaha that guy is a cock, he is just saying that cause freddie was actually talented, and became such a great influence and how often do u hear his name mentioned ....never haha

  • Guys I think he feels that Queen would suck with him. That's what I think he meant by "If I hadn't, the world wouldn't've had Queen.

  • I think its HILARIOUS how Tim Staffel is almost taking credit for making Queen and changing the world because he choose to leave Smile and let Freddie join... his loss.

  • Can someone tell me the songs on this video?

  • Take my Breath Away included in the album A Day at the Races

  • 0:12 MUSIC?

  • Freddie,man,was there something you couldn't do??!

  • not only he sing but he can draw like i said his amazing person!

  • at one point when freddies mother is talking

i got a very clear picture of freddie in her

    face....most definately has his mothers

    mouth.

  • I did not know Freddie drew and painted so well! So do I and my mother. Yes, he WAS a true fab artist--singer/songwriter, musician, fashion designer, AND drew and painted. Even though I am a nurse, I am an artist also at heart b/c I also draw, paint, play music, and sing to music as hobbies. My artistic epitome was my string orchestra winning first place in a classical strings festival in highschool all 4 years US state level.

  • I really admire Tim for recognising that it was a good thing that he stepped out. It shows a real sense of modesty and no jealousy what so ever.

  • I totally agree.

  • Hi Tim!

  • Freddie Mercury still is the best male singer in the whole world even though he's dead. No one can sing like him. No one can achieve as many as he did. Rest in Peace

  • When was this filmed?

  • the documentary was made in 2000

  • this is only 5th part of 12, but even here I can see that he was such A PERSON. To have such an amount of talents and to be such a kind person at the same time... astonishing...

  • BLOODEROSE THATS MILLIONAIRE WALTZ THAT APPEARED ON A DAY AT THE RACES ALBUM 1976!fREDDIE HAS INSPIRED ME TO DRAW FOR HE IS PERFECT IN ALMOST EVERY CUSTOM OPEN IN ALL THE WORLD,I WISH HE WOULD OF DISCLOSURED HE WAS INFECTED BY AIDS EARLIER HE COULD OF GOTTEN BACK TO HELATH LIKE MAGIC JOHNSON DID!bUT WE ALL MAKE MISTAKES AND IN FREDDIES STATE I WOULD BE ASHAMED OF THAT DISEASE ASWELL,FREDDIE SURE HAS ALOT OF BALLS FOR STICKING TO THE END

  • what's that song playing @ the beginning, just when they were showing all his artwork?

  • It's amazing how Freddie developed his voice in the follwing years...

The 1969's records show a little choir singer but not a rock star...

    I'm impressed again.... ;-))))

  • it takes alot of balls for tim staffel to say that its better he got out of the way for freddie, thats very respectable. good guy

  • I love how he continued to use that mic stand, well not that same one, but how he used them w/o the bases

  • he drew paul mccartney yeyyy!!!

  • yeah!!!! he was mad good, that looked exactly like mccartney!

  • But it's true... ._.

Freddie inspired so many people with his music and voice, the world would have indeed been a very different place.

But I guess you're too ignorant to understand this :)

  • see a true genius. he was basically capable of doing EVERYTHING!!

  • i'm thinking if tim staffel would have stayed lead singer, we'd never know Queen at all. Glad you got your fat ass out of the way too tim.

  • God bless his Beautiful Soul AMEN.

  • I love Freddie so much!!

  • freddie looked hott with long hair.

  • Freddie looke hot no matter what kind of hairstyle he had.lol

  • Damn he was good at other thing at well :(
