@tubeplunger I bet they were high. The song is from the 1700s and is a satire of something written in the 1500s!, Tolkien got hold of it in the 1940s and wrote his idea of what it might "originally" have been. I used to laugh my ass off reading his version, which does have people getting high in it. Well, drunk, anyway! Including the cat! Hic!

@amommamust - Heck, it used to say "to see such craft" (to rhyme with laughed)! You should read the J.R.R. Tolkien version. It has a whole story to it. I remember thinking he'd found and translated an original song that the familiar nursery rhyme was just like a quotation from or something. He has it as "to see such fun" also, "and the Saturday dish went off at a run with the silver Sunday spoon." Hee!
Because I'm looking for the episode where it's a game show with Gordon Blue, Ida Nomer and Luke Warm.
So if you know which episode this is in particular, please let me know. The reason why I thought it was this episode was because this skit was aired before the Game show one with the above characters every time.
He actully sang a few songs. One was his own version of two little dicky birds and another was his own version of Green Grow the rushers oh. I never knew the origanal version of that song until I lerned it in school but I like the turtle,s version better.

I love how little kids movies could be so funny for us (that are older.).
now all the movies we watch are either very violent or love stories...
not like it's bad, but the world could be as simple like little kids' thoughts.
am a fan of sesame street!

The little dog laughed to see such SPORT. Why did they change the poem? Dumbing down the kids?
