To get back to 1.1 after doing this just delet the minecraft bin folder. When you start up minecraft it would update to 1.1 again. Hope this helps :)

@353Kickflip Just delet the whole Bin folder. then run minecraft then log in. it should update to back to 1.1 hope this helped

Thanks! fixed me! Linux Ubuntu 11.10 go into your home folder, press "Ctrl" + "h" to see hidden files, find the ".minecraft" folder, find the "bin" folder in there and replace the jar file as shown in this video.
