  • 12?! haha!

Ive been on the front seat next to my dad since... since i was about 5.

  • His? Him?!!!

    Its Them!!!!

  • what the hell and im 12 and i went onto normal seats when i was 5 and i dont think im 80 pounds

  • THIS VIDEO IS CRAP THESE STEPS SHOULD BE FOLLOWED EAXACTLY

    1. buy a sunshine kids radian 80 XT SL and rear face to atleast 35 pounds that seat rear faces to 45 pounds. then allways use latch. and the top tether radian when FF. use the seat for as long as possible the seat has superlatch which makes it able to always use latch. past the car limits. because super latch is a system that you easily build in your car it is so easy.

  • I hate videos that show the minimum and not what is truely safest! There are seats in the US now that RF to 40lbs and one coming out that will RF to 45lbs. These seats also harness until 65lbs, keeping a child safer longer! My child is not a minimum, why should yours be??

  • This is true.

  • @luvbeingluvd Well fuck why arent you in a car seat

  • The standards shown on this video are what is considered bare minimum standards. For BEST PRACTICE standards, RF to limits of your childs convertible seat, get a 5-point harness that will harness beyond 40lbs, and use a booster seat till the child properly fits the adult seatbelt.

  • What about children who surpass the weight/length limits for the biggest rear facing car seats made but are yet under the age of 1?

  • That's impossible! There are carseats that rear face that go up to 65 lbs.! I have yet to see a 65lb. child under the age of 1!!! Once they outgrow their infant seat, you put them in a convertible seat REAR FACING.

  • Oh Okay, I didn't know they made seats like that? You seen on TV those talk shows about these really obese children, so I was just curious? I have an 8 month old who is 21 lbs & 29 in, her has two converter seats, not sure what the limits on hers are until I check the manual.

  • In the US, seats only RF up to 35lbs. If you child is bigger than 35lbs before a year, you must petition NHSTA to get a Swedish seat imported, which will RF to 55lbs.

Legs touching the back of the seat are not a concern. There are no reported cases of injured legs, hips, feet, or ankles due to extended RF. There are, however, thousands of cases of broken necks due to FF too soon.

  • The information on this video is not 100% accurate. Yes your child can be turned around at 1 AND 20 lbs, but your child can (and should) remain rear facing until they reach the limits of their seats. Most seats that is around 2 years old and 30 lbs. Then they can remain in the foward facing seat until they reach it's limits. Some seats harness all the way to 80 lbs. Most children are not ready to use a booster/seatbelt until they are well over 40 lbs. Might want to check the facts again.
