  • Good video - A week ago I bought some solar panels from the website Solar Penny SolarPenny their prices are better than online at other companies or eBay. If you are looking for low cost solar I recommend them for any preppers on a budget.

  • All the food stored won't keep it from floating away in a tsunami or flying away in a tornado just a thought.

  • We found a great device that actually WORKS to keep food fresh! The Banana Seal keeps even Brown Sugar nice and fresh - right in the bag that it comes in. Check it out at the website - SaveTheBananaSeal

  • that lady with purple top has got unusually big stomach

  • ATTENTION CITIZENS

    BACON IS DELICIOUS

    THAT IS ALL

  • personally, when it comes to storing water, I much rather use a Rain Water Hog (Google It), simply because it's molded of food grade plastic which complies with FDA and HPB regulatory standards for food contact and can be mounted to a wall, making it a little easier to get it out of the way!

  • I hate Religious and non related stupid comments. Food storage is not just an Mormon thing, or any other religion . I and my German family have built food storage for long as I can remember. And I am the same way.

  • I love this video. So prudent and informative.

My friends and I, came up with an interesting long-term water storage solution. Store water heavily treated with a preservative like sodium bisulfate or sodium DBSA (making it undrinkable, but will not promote bacterial growth either), then use the Katadyn Survivor to pump fresh water out of solution for immediate need, then distill the rest.

You can potentially have a 50 gallon drum filled with water in the basement for years, just in case.

  • when the power is out, your house will be too hot for storage, basement or crawl space will be the place.

  • @whittle4u uh or buy a generator for you freezers and icebox there cheaper the spending thousands of dollars to get your basement ready for what ever. I'm in to canning and freezing my garden food and making my own soap/toothpaste/shampoo so I'm a penny pincher by definition so do what ever you want man. But you know not everyone has a basement and crawl space and have to make due with what they have.

  • lol paranoia to the extreme.....funny

  • @jbags84

God, I know, Right? Like, who needs to keep extra food in the house. That's what supermarkets are for, and They'll ALWAYS be open, if they aren't I am sure Obama will come and help us, I mean we toatlly voted for him, right?

  • Think about it differently. If you had the food storage, it not only helps in terms of natural disasters, civil unrest, etc., but also poor economic times!

Imagine having this food storage, and losing your jobs, and getting lesser paying employment. Even if you used this storage to supplement your store purchases while you wait out the the downturn, it may help!

  • what is the canery?

  • mormon women are so hot.

  • @secretsquirrell13 Why do you think we have so many kids?

  • @Bill1405 lol, i used to date a mormon girl here in texas she was the best.....if you know what i mean.

  • yes this would be very useful in a tsunami just as the water is about to wsh your house away you make a snack ,,americans are crazy paranoid fuckwits ,,who the fuck wants to eat canned food its all shite ,,learn to cook you lazy bitch

  • I wish they had an assembly video. I had a heck of a time assembling it, and had insufficient parts. In the end I just used the frame to stockpile food cans in it.

I feel so sad looking at the video and my rack. I guess I'm not a capable single woman when it comes to assembling this. It took hours and then things were popping off. Oh well

  • nbrown sorry you had difficulty with the assembly of your system, we do have a video on our website that can help.

  • @ShelfReliance I'm no different than nbrown. If she couldn't assemble your product, it's unlikely I'll be able to do it.

  • @nbrown1378

Did you read the directions? It's a can shelf not a computer.

  • ''You will not be allowed to hoard food since this is regulated.''

Executive Order 10998 was signed in 1962. Where does it say in that EO that personal property that is not governed by the Dept of Agriculture can be seized and regulated? When was this ever practiced by the govt?

  • # Executive Order 10998: All food resources, farms and farm equipment will be seized by the government. You will not be allowed to hoard food since this is regulated.

    # Executive Order 10999: All modes of transportation will go into government control. Any vehicle can be seized.

    # Executive Order 11000: All civilians can be used for work under federal supervision.

  • @NBaimf that's why the most important storage idem are guns...lots of friends w/ guns and more guns.....

  • @imnotsmartbutimtryin how do you eat and drink tho ?

  • @NBaimf Executive order: 2amendment .223, subsection.308, paragraph .357 item .50bmg, chapter AK, AR, HK and verse 30rd mag. Clearly states that any persons having the right to life, liberty and the persute of happiness can and shall protect self family and property.

  • @Bill1405 I am thoroughly familiar with the Executive Order you refer to. Persute is spelled pursuit. I know how lawyers are and even the slightest error will invalidate it.

  • Katie is really hot.

  • You can build these yourselves quite easily from inexpensive wood. Just build one shelf slanted downward with a space in the back for the can to fall to then next shelf which tilts forward. Use cheap firring strips to create the tracks and can stops. The ones sold here are WAY too expensive. Build it yourself and save money for more food to store.

I just stock my normal cheap shelves from the back. I don't need a fancy shelf.

Thanks LDS for providing so much food storage information

  • Just well stock and rotate your pantry...you'll be OK.

Go to the asian stores and buy 50# bags of rice...be sure to freeze it for a few days for the weevils.

The shelf is cool but not really needed. If you have the extra money and space... why not?

It just really need not be so dramatic.

  • The shelf is cool I love it

  • you need to update this video

  • I'm a Christian who is in agreement with the Mormons that shelf relaince is a must!

  • I'm not entirely sure, but I thought she said either "fire" or "floods" or "flooding". There've been several instances of fires & flooding in So. Utah. Fires destroy vegetation, leading to increased runoff, flooding, & mudslides (once the rains return).

  • Thanks for clearing that up - it was garbled when I listened to it! For some reason I got 4 negative markings on the comment. No ill intention - I just couldn't make out the words due to whatever technical reason and needed help clearing it up.

Just needed to hear. You've cleared it up. I know of the flooding & fires in So. UT, so that makes sense of what she must have said. Thank you!!!

The product is AWESOME...In fact I am authorized to carry them...so...I think they are great!

  • I might not like their religion, but mormons sure as hell distribute a lot of good information to all people, and I'm grateful for that!

  • God can use anything and anyone to His advanage. I, too, am grateful for the knowledge they have. Here in rural Michigan, we have SDA, who also believe in survival storage to a good degree, and that they will be going through the tribulation. I am 10 minutes from a small shop of all kinds of neat stuff and a store owner who really has some good insight, all this despite our differences in faith. God is wonderful.

  • not to nit pick but the Katadyn hiker is a filter not purifier and only does 200+ gallons per filter cartridge if your lucky ;p. Great movies though!

  • You use a water FILTER in order to PURIFY water. Therefore the Ktadyn is a water purification system/device.

  • God bless you mormons

  • Great system, I'm a food service proffesional(chef) and we have huge versions of these in our storage rooms but this customization for the home pantry is great. Thanks for posting the video. I've bookmarked your website.
