  • Ive met the man who created this. He goes by the great of sam barris.

  • This was filmed at volo auto museum

  • man the oldschool batman car is way better then the batmobile now. the new one sucks the old one rocks

  • Just like there was only ONE real "catwoman" and that was Julie Newmar.... there can only be ONE batmobile and THIS car was it. The newer versions consistently failed to measure up!

  • Oh, and the car in this video is NOT the TV car. It's a nice but inaccurate replica.

  • Even the three replicas Barris built in the 60s were in accurate. Hell, even the original today looks inaccurate. It sits at Barris's tiny tiny showroom.

  • I wish folks would stop referring to anything pre-2000 as "old school". Call it what it is: the 1966 Batmobile.

  • lighten up. everyone won't see or say things the way you do. getting upset about it will shorten your life. different strokes for different folks.

  • You know buck naked; you're absolutley right. Thanks for the advice. I'm serious here. Your point is well taken.

  • sweet

  • google images brings up Lincoln Futura as the idea for Batmobile

  • No no!, its a Chrysler 58 futura design, remade

over by George Barris the same guy who redid

the Monkee mobile and The black Beauty for The Green Hornet!

  • Incorrect. It was a concept show car by Ford's Lincoln division called the 1955 Lincoln Futura. George Barris bought it for a dollar in 1959, stored it, then when FIOX asked him to build a Batmobile in 3 weks, he dusted it off, sketched a few ideas on paper and had Bill Cushenberry modify it.

  • I was close to being right though, at least it shows I put SOME research, or thought into it.

    right friend Klingon?

    ;-)

  • Oh, no argument there at all. It's welcome in my diveway anytime. :)

  • @DavidHenesy.Now i have heard it all David it is a Ford always has been always will be

  • @ROCKSTARVOCALIST that is funny I am still getting emails from when my cousin was running this David Henesy fan site and they all are talking BOY STUFF, Cars, us chicks, etc, lol, I wouldn't know a Chrysler from a ford, but it is a hot looking car I'll say with you for a old tv show sport car?, wish they had old school Batman on Bluray do they?

Sophia, 19, Vassar College , I now run the David Henesy fan club on yt! :)

  • @DavidHenesy Sorry, No problem. No they don't Have the old tv series on blue ray yet. Have a great day :o)

  • What Kinda car was the '66 Bat Mobile Built from? I Think my Uncle Dave told me one time when Him, My Father and Myself were working on my mom's 55 Chevy Bel Air that it was built from a 60s Dodge Coronet which seems realistic to me. & a TON of guys tell me; Ford Falcon Futura, Ford Galaxie 500...& they all seem plausible, if it were me I'd build it from a '68 Plymouth Roadrunner w/ a 426 Hemi...

  • lincoln futura...

    So I guess it's a Ford

  • very nice great detail :)

  • Hi:

If you are a bat-fan, must see in Ebay the awesome model kit of the 1966 batcave from tv show!

Search with this words: Batcave TV 1966

  • The thing about the Old-School batmobile is that it was in fact a really cool car, and lived up to the Bat.

The show it was used on sucked that's all, wasted potential of one hell of a ride.

  • were was this filmed?

  • California State Fair

  • I love it!!! Wish I could have seen it in real life!
