It's also good for proper foot position because it keeps Manny's lead foot outside of his opponents lead foot (which is usually a right-handed fighter.) With Manny's right foot outside of his opponent's left foot, it gives him a better angle to land a jab or double jab. There are set-ups from that position too depending on your opponent/game-plan but he has to be slick with those.
