Just flew this same flight from Kona to LAX, it only takes 4 hours because the winds are on your side.

The pilots who film landings and takeoffs from the flight deck don't seem to have a problem with it! Pilots have told me that these digital cameras don't do anything.

EXACTLY! the only reason they say that is incase of an emergency happens and u dont get distracted and you get out of the plane fast. What are you supposed to do if ur reclined and so is the person infront of you is also and you have your traytable down and a laptop on it how are you going to get out fast!?
